Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Victor Grant Saved Them

The group of men didn’t expect Vincent Vance to suddenly turn the car around and charge towards them, startling them as they hurriedly dodged to the side. Seizing the opportunity, Vincent quickly found the main road and charged up, but as soon as he got on the road, another car unexpectedly came from the opposite direction.

This car didn’t seem to be with the others because it wasn’t speeding, but Vincent, driving in haste, accidentally collided with its side.

The collision was so severe that the engine stalled immediately.

The car was out of action, and seeing this, the men excitedly gathered around again, planning to deliver a fatal blow to Vincent and May Morgan.

Vincent took a deep breath, raised the gun in his hand, aimed at the men, and was ready to fire.

He had a mini gun with only six bullets in total. Having already fired four, he was left with at most two. There were four men, and each held a gun in their hand. This time, it seemed they were in grave danger.

"May, don’t be afraid; I’ll protect you." Despite his own doubts, Vincent tried to comfort May with a calm tone.

May’s leg was severely injured, blood continuously flowing out. Yet, she had come to terms with life and death, so she wasn’t as terrified by the impending danger.

"It’s okay. At worst, I’ll die with you. Having a handsome husband with me makes even hell more eye-catching."

"You really are..." Vincent’s originally pessimistic outlook was warmed by May’s words, and he couldn’t help but smile bitterly and sigh.

"How about it? Am I not calm? Let me tell you, don’t underestimate my plain exterior, but I have an immensely strong inner self..."

As May spoke, her vision blurred, unsure whether from pain or loss of blood. All she felt was a wave of dizziness in her head, and her speech started to slow down.

Vincent couldn’t clearly see May’s leg, but from her weakening voice, he knew she was about to faint. He quickly shouted, "May, you can’t go! You have to hold on for me, I’m still counting on you to give me children."

"I know, I will..." May responded with the last reserve of her energy, "If my body allows it, I’ll give you a hundred..."

With those words, May completely lost consciousness and simply fainted.

As the men surrounded Vincent’s car, ready to attack those inside, Vincent suddenly heard the sound of a gunshot coming from outside the window. A man quickly fell to the ground after that shot, appearing to have been hit.

The men’s attention was entirely focused on Vincent inside the car, leaving them defenseless against an external shooter. Thus, the surprise attack was both unexpected and clever.

Soon, three more gunshots sounded outside the car. The men hadn’t even had a chance to react before one after another fell to the ground.

With the men down, Vincent saw through the car window that an SUV had suddenly pulled up, and Victor Grant emerged from the vehicle.

He walked over to the men, nudged them with his foot, and seeing they were all virtually dead, he walked over to Vincent’s car and knocked on the window.

Seeing that it was Victor outside, Vincent felt a bit relieved. He knew these men were taken out by Victor. Despite their past grievances, he was genuinely saved this time.

"I need to use your car, May has fainted!" Vincent quickly opened the car door, carried May out of the passenger seat, and ran towards Victor’s vehicle.

Victor glanced at the unconscious May in Vincent’s arms and exclaimed with a hint of exasperation, "You idiot, how could you be so careless? This girl has never had peace with you around."

"I know, it’s my fault." Despite Victor’s reprimand, Vincent couldn’t refute as he was eager to save her. He was only concerned with May’s survival; as long as she lived, that’s what mattered.

In Victor’s car, he drove while occasionally glancing at Vincent and May in the rearview mirror. Seeing the blood on May’s thighs, he kindly advised Vincent, "Find something to bandage May’s wound; don’t let her lose too much blood."

Prompted by Victor, Vincent came to his senses. Of course, he was so frantic he forgot to bandage May’s wounds.

"I know, thank you."

Vincent replied while trying to tear off a piece of his shirt to bandage May’s thigh. Seeing this, Victor immediately stopped him, "Stop, stop, stop! That’s not sanitary. Aren’t you afraid she’ll catch an infection before bleeding out?"

He then bent down, retrieved a roll of gauze and a bottle of hemostatic powder from the storage compartment, and tossed them to Vincent in the back.

For someone like him, fights and violence were normal, so he usually had these on hand.

Vincent expressed his gratitude, and upon receiving the supplies, he began to tend to May’s leg wound. Her white dress was stained with a lot of blood, enough to dye almost the entire fabric red—an alarming sight.

Vincent carefully lifted the hem of May’s dress, revealing a crimson patch on her thigh. At least 400cc of blood seemed to have been lost. No wonder May had passed out.

Suppressing his discomfort, Vincent searched for the wound on May’s leg, but no matter how much he looked, he couldn’t find a wound anywhere.

Logically, for such a loss of blood, the wound should have been large and deep, impossible to miss. Vincent, fearing he had checked the wrong place, adjusted May slightly and carefully examined her other leg.

To his surprise, May’s other leg was also perfectly intact, without a single wound.

How strange. If May wasn’t injured, where did the blood come from?

To ensure he hadn’t missed anything, Vincent hastily lifted May’s shirt, but found no wounds on her body either.

Victor, from the driver’s seat, noticed Vincent staring at May and not bandaging her wound. Puzzled, he asked, "What are you doing? Why don’t you take care of it quickly? The more she bleeds, the more trouble it will be, even after reaching the hospital."

"I know..." Vincent frowned, glanced at Victor at the front, then pretended to find a wound and began to tend to May’s left leg.

Because Victor was in front and hadn’t closely watched Vincent’s actions, he remained unaware of anything strange about May.

When they arrived at a nearby hospital, Victor helped Vincent escort May, still dazed, into the building. Vincent, feeling a bit uneasy, politely said to Victor, "Thank you for saving me this time. I’ll find a way to repay you in the future."
