Chapter 970: I Can Forge Any Immortal Artifact

“Fellow Daoist Heaven Mandate, I observe that your body is incomplete. Would you require some immortal metal to restore it?”

Without the Heaven Mandate Immortal needing to voice it, Yun Zhi discerned his condition and what he sought.

“In that case, thank you, Fellow Daoist Yun Zhi!” The Heaven Mandate Immortal was overjoyed. This was exactly what he needed at present.

“If you need any immortal artifact, do not hesitate to tell me, Fellow Daoist. I can forge anything.”

“I don’t need anything for now. Should the need arise in the future, I will have to trouble you, Fellow Daoist Daoist Heaven Mandate.”

“Would you like to meet Little Ling and Lianyi?”

“The two younger sisters-in-law? I haven’t seen them in a long time.” Previously, the Heaven Mandate Immortal was worried that Ao Ling and Jiang Lianyi might be connected to the Silent Annihilation and hadn’t dared to reveal himself. Now that the misunderstanding was resolved, he naturally wished to meet them.

“Immortal Fairy, do you know where they are?” Lu Yang was befuddled. He remembered that Ao Ling and Jiang Lianyi often roamed the outside world, their whereabouts ever-changing.

“Oh, right. I don’t know where they are. Shall we wait until we run into them?”

Yun Zhi shook her head helplessly and produced a yellow talisman. “I was concerned about Senior Ao Ling being attacked by the Gray Immortal Fairy, so I asked Founding Ancestor Vast Sea to craft several Teleportation Talismans. You can use this talisman to find Senior Ao Ling.”

“That would be wonderful! Lass Yun is truly reliable.” The Everlasting Immortal Fairy broke into a wide smile. Since Little Ling and Lianyi are often together, finding one will lead to the other.

“I observe that this small world prevents teleportation. It would be best to leave this place before attempting,” Yun reminded them.

The Heaven Mandate Immortal hadn’t expected Yun Zhi to possess such keen discernment. Fearing that the Silent Annihilation Immortal would use some unknown method to teleport directly into the ancient ring’s small world, he had deliberately sealed off all means of teleportation when forging the ancient ring.

After Yun Zhi's departure, Lu Yang also left the ancient ring’s small world. He picked up the fallen ring, slipped it onto his finger, activated the Teleportation Talisman, and was transported to Ao Ling’s location.

Only after watching Lu Yang depart with two immortals did Yun Zhi descend the mountain to find Yun Mengmeng among the river spirits encircling the Dao-Seeking Sect. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Yun Mengmeng lay in the river, letting the current carry her wherever it pleased. This was her latest pastime. In the Peach Blossom Secret Domain, the rivers were immortal rivers, and her granny forbade her from playing like this.

Yun Zhi fished Yun Mengmeng out of the water. “Mengmeng, do you need an immortal artifact forged?”

“Immortal artifact?” Yun Mengmeng pondered. According to the First-in-Command, our Everlasting Lineage has no need for weapons in combat. If I don’t need a weapon-type immortal artifact...

“Will any immortal artifact do?”

“Yes, any will do.”

Yun Mengmeng’s eyes lit up. “Can you forge a treasure bowl? The kind where you put in one pastry, and it turns into two!”

“We can try that.”

Yun Zhi then found Gan Tian lying under a tree and comprehending nature.

“Third Junior Sister, if you could have an immortal artifact forged, what would you like?”

Gan Tian sat up. She didn’t understand why Yun Zhi was asking, but still leaned against the tree and contemplated seriously.

A qin? I don’t really need it. My qin is a growth-type magical treasure, and I’ve used it since childhood. There’s no need to replace it.

“Is there an immortal lamp that can grant any wish? For example, one could rub it twice, and a divine spirit will appear to fulfil three wishes.”

“We can try that.”

Yun Zhi went around asking, jotting down the requested immortal artifacts on paper. “A treasure bowl that duplicates anything; an immortal lamp that grants wishes when rubbed; a coffin so comfortable you never want to get out; an immortal artifact that teaches one about love; an immortal mirror that ranks the most beautiful women...

“They seem to be a bunch of peculiar curios. But considering that Fellow Daoist is the Progenitor and can forge any magical treasure, it shouldn’t be a problem.”

The Demon Region, the ancient tomb of a great demon...

Within a passage, eight or nine demons gathered, and they walked carefully, afraid to take long strides.

“Big Brother, can’t we use our spiritual consciousness to probe our surroundings? It’s so dark here; I can’t see anything.” A female demon clutched at the leader’s clothes nervously.

“How many times have I said this? This is the ancient tomb of a Half-Step Nascent Soul great demon. It’s riddled with mechanisms and traps, including some triggered by spiritual consciousness and light.”

“Oh.”

“Everyone, step only where I’ve stepped, lest you trigger any mechanism.” The leader of the group transmitted an auditory message to the rest.

After triggering two mechanisms and fighting through several fierce battles, the group finally reached the depths of the tomb, a place no one had ever reached.

“We’ve finally made it.” Everyone heaved a sigh of relief and slumped to the ground.

Luminous pearls lit the depths of the ancient tomb. The group saw cultivation manuals, pills, and spirit treasures scattered haphazardly on the floor.

“As expected of a Half-Step Nascent great demon’s bequest. It’s truly abundant.”

“Many thanks to Fellow Daoist Ao Lianyi and Fellow Daoist Jiang Ling for the map of the ancient tomb. As agreed, we’ll split it forty-sixty.”

They had encountered Ao Lianyi and Jiang Ling by chance on the road. The two possessed the map of the ancient tomb but lacked manpower and feared the dangers within. Thus, they had suggested a collaboration—explore the ancient tomb together, then split the spoils forty-sixty.

Through their journey together, the group had learned that the two women came from extraordinary backgrounds. Traces of the Dragon Tribe and the Phoenix Tribe blood ran in their veins, suggesting that their ancestors had been dragons and phoenixes. However, their ancestors were likely expelled after some transgression. By Ao Lianyi and Jiang Ling’s generation, their families had long since declined.

The leader inventoried the treasures in the ancient tombs. Most pills had lost their efficacy over time, turning poisonous or useless. The spirit treasures and cultivation manuals, however, remained usable and were of exceptionally high grades.

“Look at this book! It’s the great demon’s unique spell!”

“And this book! This documents the tomb owner’s experiences of forming a golden core! Heavens, with his method, we’ll have a fifteen percent chance of successfully forming one!”

“Strange. What’s this?” One of them spotted a sword hilt protruding from the ground and pulled it out in curiosity.

“A broken sword? And it's rusty?”

As the rusted blade was pulled out, the ancient tomb shook. The coffin began to rattle, and an eerie laughter echoed through the tomb.

“Heh heh heh, who would have thought? A hundred years have passed, and even I, the Heavenly Centipede Daoist Priest, am finally seeing the light of day once more!

“Old Black Goat, you sacrificed your life to seal me here and set traps to keep others from entering. But so what? Someone ultimately barged in and removed the array’s focal point!”

“Heavenly Centipede Daoist Priest?” The group was flabbergasted, color draining from their faces.

The Heavenly Centipede Daoist Priest was a renowned great demon from a century ago. Due to his exceptional cultivation, he was unbeatable, terrorizing the nearby tribes. Later, the old ancestor of the Black Goat Tribe broke through to the Half-Step Nascent Soul Stage and challenged him to battle. Since then, both had vanished.

To think he has been sealed here all this time...

A mottled centipede crawled out of the coffin, its hundred legs swaying in a rhythmic motion that sent chills down one’s spine.

“It appears that after that old Black Goat died, his storage ring shattered, and its contents fell out. Excellent! Not only will this esteemed one have these little ones to replenish my blood and qi upon awakening, but I will also acquire the possessions of a Half-Step Nascent Soul cultivator. The heavens truly favor me!”

“We brought disaster upon you with our map. You must flee! The two of us will bring up the rear.” The two women stepped forward, their eyes flickering with a resolve to sacrifice themselves for their cause.

“Fellow Daoist Ao Lianyi!”

“Fellow Daoist Jiang Ling!”

The group wept. “If we’re leaving, it’ll be together!”

“Shut up! If you don’t leave, we’ll all die here!”

“Hehe, none of you are going anywhere.” The Heavenly Centipede Daoist Priest cackled, dismissing the group of Great Perfection Qi Training minor demons before him.

The group engaged the Heavenly Centipede Daoist Priest in an all-out battle. The latter toyed with them, not bothering to kill them right off the outset.

“Fellow Daoist Ao Lianyi!” the group cried out.

One of the Heavenly Centipede Daoist Priest’s legs had pierced Ao Lianyi’s chest. She lay weakly in Jiang Ling’s arms.

With a trembling hand stained with blood, Ao Lianyi caressed Jiang Ling’s face. “Little Ling, let us be good sisters again in the next life.”

“Lianyi—” Jiang Ling screamed, her anguish nearly rending her.

“Heavenly Centipede Daoist Priest, I will make you pay with blood!” Jiang Ling yelled in fury.

The Heavenly Centipede Daoist Priest paid her no mind until he saw her eyes. His expression shifted, and he involuntarily stepped back.

Jiang Ling’s eyes had transformed into golden phoenix eyes, like those of an ancient phoenix awakening.

“Bloodline awakening! You are of the Phoenix Tribe’s direct lineage!” the Heavenly Centipede Daoist Priest exclaimed.

Suddenly, a door opened. Lu Yang stepped out and surveyed the scene. He saw Ao Ling on the ground, devoid of vitality; Jiang Lianyi, blazing with rage; a group of little demons, bewildered by what had happened; and the Heavenly Centipede Daoist Priest, a Half-Step Nascent Soul cultivator.

“Sorry. Wrong place.”

Then Lu Yang quietly withdrew.
