When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 864: An Apparently Ordinary Day
The bustling Argent city, in the beautiful mansion of the Lancaster family.
Adrian Lancaster adjusted his tie, walked out of the living room, opened the car door, and stood by waiting.
In no time, Faye Turner came out, "You’re really driving me? It’s not on your way."
"Driving my wife, anywhere is on the way!" he said happily, "Hop in the car first!"
"Okay!" She placed the bag in her hand into the trunk, then got into the car, and Adrian Lancaster sat beside her.
Today, Mr. Kerr was driving, first taking Faye Turner to The Fairy Tale Nook, then Adrian to the office.
The sweets Auntie made last time, after tasting by her and Rachel Sherman, were deemed suitable as new items for the shop.
Therefore, with time and mood on their side today, she brought some ingredients along, planning to personally teach the staff how to make them.
Yet no one would guess that today would become a major turning point, making Adrian Lancaster at eighty reminisce uncertain if it was good or bad.
The Lamborghini headed towards the riverside Fairy Tale Nook, with Adrian and Faye holding hands in the backseat, as affectionate as ever.
Soon, the car stopped outside the dessert shop.
"Are you coming to pick me up tonight?" she asked him before getting out of the car, confirming, "Will you have to work overtime? Will you be too busy?"
"Overtime is out of the question." He reached out to tease her nose, "I might even finish early, send you a message then. Plus, got to go home to make baby food for our precious daughter."
"Her little mouth is going to be spoiled by you." Faye joked and complained, "Once she goes to kindergarten, she’ll probably have a hard time adjusting to school meals."
"Then I’ll build her a kindergarten! You don’t need to worry about it; it’s a minor issue!"
Faye shook her head with a laugh.
Mr. Kerr helped her open the car door, and she politely thanked him before getting off.
The bag from the trunk was also taken, with Adrian sitting in the car, watching as his wife walked into the dessert shop.
He felt, at that moment, how lucky he was.
Only until her figure disappeared from view did he shift his gaze and speak, "Mr. Kerr, let’s go."
"Alright."
In the next two hours, Faye Turner personally taught the staff how to make the new items, and the resulting taste was exceptional.
Everyone was thrilled, like unlocking a new skill, discovering a new world.
In a blink of an eye, it was noon, and Shannon asked, "Faye, are you eating here for lunch? I’ve ordered a roast duck, and just cooked some rice."
At this, another staff member, Tanya, spoke up, "Which place did you order the roast duck from?" She seemed excited.
"The one with the top sales, the same place we ordered from last time. It was so tasty, I’ve been wanting to eat it again. Today I bought a whole one, and it’s just over a hundred."
"But delivery is going to take long, especially during meal times, there’ll be a queue. How about I go get it?" said the girl who still had a dessert unfinished, wearing gloves.
Shannon also had tasks, with two more customers entering the store.
"I’ll get it!" Faye was more than willing, intending to stay for lunch, and asked, "Is it about 500 meters to the right, opposite the traffic light intersection?"
"Yes, have you had it too?"
Faye smiled mysteriously, confessing, "I stumbled upon it online and bought through a group deal. It’s really delicious."
Then she asked, "Is the e-scooter charged? I’ll go fetch it!"
"Yes, the keys are hanging behind that door. I’ll send you the order details." Shannon advised, "Be careful, it’s likely been a while since you rode a scooter, right?" After all, she is Mrs. Lancaster.
"Don’t worry, my skills are great!" Faye said with a laugh as she went to get the keys, telling them, "Back in college, I was riding around campus with a scooter."
Everyone had known each other for ages, since the early days of the shop, meaning they met during college.
Therefore, they had faith in her riding skills.
"I’m off now! Be back soon!"
"Alright, we’ll wait for you, be careful on the road!"
So, with the keys in hand, Faye donned a helmet and left the dessert shop...
