When His Nauseous Sweetheart Frowns, the Tycoon's Family Takes Turns Pampering Her-Chapter 54: I Will Be Gentle
Luna Axton’s eyes narrowed in indignation.
’Blaze is doing this on purpose.’
He was deliberately using Caleb’s job to threaten her, forbidding her from interning at Concordia Medical Hall.
"Give me a reason."
Luna Axton’s voice grew cold. She was becoming keenly aware of her position.
’Lately, I’ve gotten too carried away.’
She’d forgotten how ruthless Blaze Fairchild could be. She’d forgotten their marriage was just a contract.
’How could I have been so foolish? To think that just because Blaze had a physical reaction to me, because he liked to kiss me and hold me while we slept, that I could do whatever I wanted.’
’Our marriage is because of the baby, because of the contract.’
As Luna’s gaze suddenly turned cold, Blaze Fairchild repeated himself. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"No reason. If I say you can’t, you can’t."
"I was the one who forbade Caleb from telling you. I told him I wanted to surprise you, which is why he didn’t say anything. It has nothing to do with him."
Going to Concordia Medical Hall was something she could negotiate, but she couldn’t let Caleb get blamed and lose his job because she hadn’t thought things through.
Blaze Fairchild lifted his chin slightly, drawling an affirmation. "Mm."
"The contract doesn’t stipulate that I can’t do an internship. There’s no clause about it," Luna pressed.
She didn’t want to give up this important opportunity. She had prepared for so long, and she had passed the interview.
’I can’t just give up on it like this.’
Her only recourse was to bring it back to the nature of their marriage and use the contract to persuade Blaze Fairchild.
Blaze was holding her, intending to put her to bed.
He’d thought she had seen reason and given up on the internship, but now she was bringing up the contract.
’There’s no way I, Blaze Fairchild, am going to stand by and watch my wife laughing and having a grand time with other men every day.’
’I’m not that magnanimous!’
"The contract also says..."
Blaze sat down on the edge of the bed, still holding her. He tilted her chin up, forcing Luna to look at him.
"You have to fulfill your wifely duties."
Luna Axton’s eyes widened in shock. She was still pregnant.
’Blaze Fairchild is... an animal.’
"What? You’re not willing, Luna?"
Luna pursed her lips and said nothing.
"Your mother got better and was discharged from the hospital. Now that you’re done using me, you’re not willing anymore?"
Blaze Fairchild’s long finger slid over the bridge of her nose and landed on her lips.
"I..."
Her lips parted as she tried to argue that she hadn’t used him.
But Blaze Fairchild didn’t give her the chance, lowering his head to kiss her lips.
She struggled, trying to break free from him.
’We were talking about something important! How can he be so tyrannical and not even let me speak!’
Blaze Fairchild cupped the back of her head with one hand, not allowing her to dodge.
He had felt for her, knowing the pregnancy was difficult, so he’d always been restrained and patient, never touching her improperly.
He could burn off his excess energy with an hour-long run every morning.
But now, with her eyes rimmed with red and a faint anger in their enchanting depths...
Her pitiful look, like she was about to cry but holding it back, made him want to bully her even more.
His body screamed with a wild clamor, and the self-control he prided himself on vanished completely.
His kiss grew more urgent and fervent, freighted with tumultuous emotions.
She was powerless to fight back, letting him overwhelm her, suckling...
As time stretched on, the air in her lungs grew thin.
A hot palm roamed over her, and the next moment, her clothes fell to the floor, piece by piece.
"I’m still pregnant."
The corners of his eyes were flushed, and the desire in his dark eyes nearly drowned her.
His voice was hoarse as he promised, "I’ll be gentle."
When it came to matters between a man and a woman, men were natural-born experts.
Compared to the first time, he was indeed the epitome of gentle, constantly mindful of how she felt.
Afterwards, he carried her to wash up.
Even in the bath, she didn’t have to lift a finger. She was like a doll, completely at Blaze’s disposal.
Luna Axton lay down with her back to Blaze Fairchild.
Her back was pressed tightly against his chest, his arms wrapped around her waist and shoulders.
Blaze’s deep, steady breathing filled her ears, but she couldn’t fall asleep.
’The first time, I saved my mother.’
’Does this mean I can go to the internship now?’
Luna didn’t know.
She only knew that her heart was clutched in Blaze’s large hand.
If he was unhappy or unsatisfied, she would be in pain.
"Go to sleep now, hmm?"
’So he’s not asleep yet.’
’I told him how important the internship is to me.’
’So why won’t Blaze agree?’
Tears slipped from the corners of her eyes, silently soaking into the pillow.
Her sorrow was just as silent.
She didn’t answer Blaze.
「The Jacbos Estate.」
After the annual gala, Yvonne Rhodes returned home.
The vast villa was unnervingly quiet, all because of what happened with Kai.
Her uncle and aunt had been on strained terms lately, to the point where they were now sleeping in separate rooms.
As the younger one, she was powerless. Taking either side would be a mistake.
After being beaten last time, Kai took a leave of absence, only returning to school for the final exams.
When he came back for winter break, his uncle grounded him, forcing him to stay home and "cultivate his character." He wasn’t allowed to go anywhere.
After posting on social media, she had gone looking for Ian, but she couldn’t find him anywhere.
She was in a terrible mood from not being able to find Ian.
She’d had a lot to drink and was now unsteady on her feet.
Yvonne Rhodes kicked off her high heels and walked barefoot, steadying herself against the wall as she headed for the second floor.
She was afraid of making any sound and waking up her uncle and aunt.
"Hey..."
A dark figure suddenly appeared ahead, startling her partway sober.
From the slender frame, she could tell it was Kai.
"What are you doing wandering around in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?"
Kai ignored her, snatching her clutch and rummaging through it. "Got a smoke?"
Yvonne Rhodes lowered her voice to warn him, "If Uncle finds out you smoke, he’ll beat you!"
"He can’t kill me. Stubborn old fool," Kai said, unconcerned.
He skillfully opened her powder compact and took out all the cigarettes inside.
"Our little secret, Cuz."
"You little brat, help me back to my room!" Yvonne was actually quite fond of her younger cousin, mostly because they were both terrified of their uncle.
Her uncle was incredibly stubborn. In his mind, smoking and drinking were simply vices.
Her uncle didn’t touch cigarettes or alcohol, and the people around him weren’t allowed to either.
Kai had been about to head to the roof to satisfy his craving, but he saw his cousin swaying unsteadily.
If she fell and woke up his parents, he could forget about having that smoke.
Kai turned back and helped Yvonne to her room.
Yvonne lay in bed for a while before habitually pulling out her phone.
On her feed, she saw Luna Axton’s profile picture next to a new post.
’Luna Axton posted something!’
’She must have cried her eyes out when she saw me dancing with Ian. Haha!’
’That little hick Luna probably doesn’t even know how to dance!’
