Wedding Night: My Disabled Husband Made Me Cry-Chapter 130: She is My Girlfriend
Both of them froze completely!
Vivian Quinn felt a jolt of electricity travel from their touching lips, instantly shooting through her entire body. The blood in her veins began to burn!
Her breathing grew shallow, her senses filled with the man’s crisp, pleasant, and purely masculine scent!
Jett Sterling was stunned as well. It took every ounce of his willpower to resist the urge to deepen the kiss!
But her allure was simply too powerful, so much so that he was finding it hard to control himself!
Just as the man was about to deepen the kiss, the girl beneath him suddenly pushed him away with all her might. "Get off!"
She sat up and vigorously wiped her lips as if they had been contaminated by some sort of virus!
A pang of pain shot through Jett Sterling’s heart. He apologized in a low voice, "Sorry."
"If ’sorry’ fixed everything, what would we need the police for?" Vivian Quinn retorted irritably.
"I didn’t mean to. It was a moment of panic; I was afraid you’d get hurt from the fall."
"I wouldn’t have fallen if you hadn’t suddenly appeared!" Vivian Quinn said, her cheeks puffed with anger. "Jett Sterling, you’ve got it out for me, don’t you?"
"I really was just trying to catch you because I was afraid you’d fall."
"I can’t be bothered with you!" Vivian Quinn pushed herself up and continued limping toward the bathroom.
Seeing she could walk, albeit with difficulty, Jett Sterling didn’t go to help her. Once she came out and got into bed, he turned off the light and lay back down on the sofa.
But Vivian couldn’t sleep. She hadn’t noticed it before, but after taking a few steps, her ankle was throbbing with intense pain.
She tossed and turned for a long time before finally forcing herself to sleep.
In a drowsy haze, Vivian felt someone touching her foot. Then, a large, warm hand covered her injured ankle and began to gently massage it.
Vivian slowly opened her eyes. In the warm glow of the night light, the man was sitting at the foot of the bed, gently massaging her ankle.
His gaze was fixed on her foot, and he didn’t notice she had woken up.
Vivian didn’t make a sound. She watched him quietly for a moment before closing her eyes again.
...
Vivian Quinn didn’t leave the house all weekend, staying at Sycamore Bay to recover from her injury.
The doctor’s medicine was effective, and for the next two nights, Jett Sterling secretly got up in the middle of the night to massage her ankle. By Monday, Vivian’s foot had completely healed.
She finished breakfast and headed to the university. Ian Sterling was already in his seat and whistled at her. "Vivian Quinn, you’d better thank me."
"Oh?" Vivian asked, intrigued. "What great deed have you done that requires my thanks?"
"I posted on the campus forum to clarify your relationship with Mason Landon. I said you’re not interested in him because you’re my girlfriend now."
Vivian was speechless.
"What did you say?"
"You’re my girlfriend now."
"Ian Sterling, are you out of your mind? You call this clarifying things for me?"
"What else would it be?" Ian Sterling looked completely baffled. "Didn’t this help you get rid of Mason Landon?"
"You call this getting rid of him? Ian Sterling, you’re an expert at making trouble for me." Vivian pressed her hand to her forehead. "I guarantee you, by tomorrow, the whole school will be saying I’m two-timing!"
"Uh, no way, right?"
"Why not?" Vivian sighed. "Ian Sterling, you’re one of a kind, I’ll give you that."
Ian Sterling’s face lit up. "So, I should be proud of that?"
Vivian was at a loss for words. "I seriously wonder how you were born into the Sterling Family."
"Born lucky, what can I say?"
Vivian waved her hand dismissively. "Forget it. Being rumored to be with you is better than with Mason Landon. Since it’s already done, whatever."
"That’s more like it! I knew my decision wasn’t wrong!"
Vivian was speechless.
Throughout the morning, she felt people looking at her even more strangely than usual. The female students, in particular, couldn’t hide the envy in their eyes!
Vivian got her food from the cafeteria, and just as she sat down, a tall figure appeared in front of her.
She instinctively looked up and saw a rather familiar face.
"Vivian," the tall, handsome student asked, his voice full of grievance, "are you and Ian Sterling really boyfriend and girlfriend? He’s the school bully! He might be rich, but he’s a bad character. He’s not right for you at all!"
It took Vivian a moment to recall that this was the department heartthrob who had confessed his feelings to her at the school gate.
"Um..." Vivian swallowed. "You’ve got the wrong idea."
"Really?" The department heartthrob’s face lit up. "So there’s nothing going on between you two?"
Just as Vivian was wondering how to explain, an arrogant voice cut in from nearby. "Who told you there’s nothing going on between us?"
Vivian pressed her hand to her forehead. ’Here comes more trouble!’
Ian Sterling strode forward and looked at the department heartthrob with disdain. "Vivian Quinn is my girlfriend. You got a problem with that?"
The department heartthrob glared at Ian Sterling defiantly. "Impossible! There’s no way Vivian could become your girlfriend so quickly!"
"Believe it or not, that’s up to you. But right now, you need to get lost. Stop harassing my Vivian."
Vivian was speechless.
The department heartthrob looked at Vivian, hurt. "He’s not telling the truth, right?"
Vivian chose her words carefully before speaking. "Thank you for your feelings, but it’s really not possible between us. You shouldn’t waste your time on me."
The department heartthrob couldn’t accept such a rejection. The color drained from his handsome face, and his innocent eyes held a look of both reproach and resentment.
Vivian truly couldn’t bear it. "I’m sorry if I hurt you, but I really don’t want to waste your feelings."
"I understand." The department heartthrob forced a smile, trying to maintain some dignity. "I should be the one apologizing. Sorry for bothering you."
With that, he quickly turned and left.
Only then did Ian Sterling sit down across from Vivian. "Good thing he knows his place. If he hadn’t left, I would’ve gotten rough."
Vivian frowned. "Ian Sterling, I said I’d let it go, not that you should announce it in front of all these people!"
A large crowd had just been watching, and they had overheard most of the conversation. Vivian’s rejection of the department heartthrob only served to confirm Ian’s words.
"How would you have gotten out of it if I hadn’t shown up? Vivian Quinn, I was just trying to help!"
"Alright, alright. I can’t be bothered to argue with you about this."
Vivian had lost her appetite. She ate a few bites of her meal and then returned to the classroom.
Her afternoon classes were all with Hugh York. At least she wouldn’t have to see Mason Landon, which was a small relief.
Hugh York walked into the classroom, his face beaming with a smile like he’d just won the lottery. He cleared his throat and announced cheerfully, "Everyone, I have an important announcement to make. The university has invited another distinguished instructor to join our class. He will be teaching a psychology course. Now, let’s give our warmest round of applause to welcome our very own Professor Zachary Quinn!"
Vivian: "???" ’Who?’
When Jett Sterling wheeled himself into the room, she finally confirmed she hadn’t misheard!
