Wedding Night: My Disabled Husband Made Me Cry-Chapter 102: Sleeping Together Already?
The girl in the bathtub had clearly lost consciousness. Her entire body was sinking, and the water had already submerged her mouth and nose!
"Vivian!" Jett Sterling hurriedly pulled her out of the water, patting her on the back. "Vivian, wake up! Don’t scare me! Vivian!"
"COUGH, COUGH, COUGH!" Vivian Quinn suddenly spat out a mouthful of water and began to cough violently.
Once she finally caught her breath, she asked, "Jett Sterling, what happened to me?"
"You don’t know what happened?"
"I have no idea."
"It looks like you fainted and sank completely underwater. Luckily, I found you in time. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unthinkable!"
Vivian Quinn’s eyes widened. "How could I have suddenly fainted? At most, I would’ve just fallen asleep!"
"You just fainted!"
A wave of fear washed over Vivian Quinn. ’How could this have happened...’
It was only then that she belatedly realized and suddenly shrieked, "AH! I’m not wearing any clothes!"
Jett Sterling froze. Only then did he notice she was completely naked, his hand still wrapped around her slender waist.
The man’s downcast eyes instantly darkened.
Vivian Quinn couldn’t help but shiver and quickly shrank back into the bathtub. "Get out first!"
Jett Sterling struggled to rein in his thoughts, then got up and left.
He hadn’t taken two steps before he stopped, though he didn’t turn around. "Vivian, don’t soak any longer. Get dressed and come out."
Vivian Quinn’s voice was barely a whisper. "Okay."
About fifteen minutes later, Vivian Quinn emerged from the bathroom wrapped in a towel, her face flushed to the tips of her ears. She didn’t dare to look at Jett Sterling.
But Jett Sterling’s mind wasn’t on that. He took Vivian Quinn’s hand and led her to the walk-in closet. "Change your clothes. I’m taking you to the hospital."
"Why go to the hospital in the middle of the night?"
"For a check-up."
Vivian Quinn frowned. "You think there’s something wrong with me?"
"Vivian, this doesn’t seem like you were just tired or scared. A normal person wouldn’t faint while taking a bath. I have to take you to get it checked out properly."
Vivian Quinn thought back carefully. "Now that you mention it, I did feel a little off today."
"Right. So we’re going to the hospital."
"Okay, I’ll listen to you."
The two of them went to the hospital that night and went through all sorts of tests, not finishing until just before dawn.
Vivian Quinn had long since fallen asleep from exhaustion on the hospital bed, but Jett Sterling felt no desire to sleep. He kept watch over her in the room.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Jett Sterling went to open it and saw Easton Rivers standing outside.
"Master Sterling, the doctor would like to see you. He said there’s something he needs to discuss with you."
Jett Sterling turned his head to look at the girl on the bed, his voice growing a bit hoarse. "Stay here and watch over the missus. If she wakes up, come and get me."
"Yes, Master Sterling."
...
Vivian Quinn slept until well after ten in the morning before she slowly woke up, feeling much more energetic.
She stretched lazily and saw Jett Sterling sitting in the wheelchair by her bed. She quickly sat up. "Jett Sterling, you look pale. Haven’t you been sleeping?"
"Mm," Jett Sterling smiled. "I’m not tired. How are you feeling now?"
"Much better."
"That’s good. Let’s go home."
"Okay."
When Vivian Quinn returned to Sycamore Bay, the bathroom door had already been repaired.
She took a hot shower, felt a bit tired, and lay down to catch up on sleep.
While she was in a daze between sleep and waking, her phone suddenly rang.
Vivian Quinn opened her eyes and answered the call. "Professor York?"
"Vivian, didn’t you say your leg was healed and you could come back to school? Why did you take a day off today? This week’s classes are very important; you can’t just take leave casually."
"Ian Sterling already told me. I’ll be in class tomorrow."
"Good. See you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow."
「The next morning.」
Vivian Quinn left the house wearing a face mask, only to find a flashy red sports car parked at the entrance to Sycamore Bay.
Ian Sterling lowered the convertible’s top and whistled at her.
Vivian Quinn: "..."
She walked over and gave him a disdainful look. "Why are you all dressed up like a peacock so early in the morning?"
"I came all this way just to pick you up, and instead of being grateful, you dare call me a peacock?"
Vivian Quinn’s lip twitched. "Did your uncle run out of cars? Do I look like I need you to pick me up?"
"Vivian Quinn, you’re getting full of yourself! Just as I thought, marrying into the Sterling Family has made you arrogant!"
"I’m not full of myself. I just think you’re being suspiciously attentive. You’re either up to no good or have a hidden agenda."
"Such a petty mind!" Ian Sterling took off his sunglasses. "Are you getting in or not? If not, I’m leaving, and you’ll be late. Let me tell you, the drivers my uncle hires all drive slowly. It’s rush hour right now. If you aren’t late, I’ll eat my hat!"
Vivian Quinn hesitated for a moment before quickly hopping into Ian Sterling’s car. "Let’s go!"
Ian Sterling raised an eyebrow smugly and slammed on the gas, peeling out.
Vivian Quinn quickly grabbed the handle. "Slow down!"
"Didn’t you tell me to hurry?"
"That doesn’t mean you have to risk our lives!"
Ian Sterling glanced at her with disdain. "Why are you wearing such a huge mask? Don’t worry, with me around, no one at Aethelgard University will dare to make fun of you."
"Make fun of me for what?"
"The scar on your face, of course. This world is full of people who judge a book by its cover, but I definitely won’t make fun of you, so relax."
Vivian Quinn smiled. "I didn’t realize you could be so kind."
"No matter what, we’re family now. I can bully you, but no one else can."
Vivian Quinn: "..."
"Who said you could bully me?"
"I did."
"Hmph." Vivian Quinn ignored him and turned to look at the scenery.
"Vivian Quinn, are you really that insecure?" Ian Sterling asked. "Did you hear the rumors too?"
"What rumors?"
"They say on the day Austin Grant married that stepsister of yours, some ethereal beauty showed up at the wedding—so gorgeous it was unreal. She almost made your stepsister miscarry from rage. The story is all over Aethelgard. Did you hear about how beautiful she was and get even more insecure?"
Vivian Quinn: "..."
"I haven’t heard about that."
"It’s better that you haven’t. There are always people in this world who don’t care about looks and will fall for you. Like my uncle, for example."
Vivian Quinn: "..."
’What am I going to do? I really want to punch Ian Sterling!’
Her phone suddenly rang. Vivian Quinn glanced at the screen, an unconscious smile appearing on her face. She swiped to answer. "You’re awake?"
"Why didn’t you wake me when you got up?"
"I saw you were sleeping so soundly, so I didn’t want to disturb you. I wanted you to sleep in a little."
Suddenly, the car veered out of control, hurtling toward a tree on the side of the road!
"AH!" Vivian Quinn screamed in terror.
"Holy—!" Ian Sterling yanked the steering wheel, narrowly avoiding disaster in a heart-stopping moment.
"Ian Sterling, are you crazy!" Vivian Quinn was still shaken. "If you don’t have the skills, why are you even driving?"
"How is this my fault!" Ian Sterling retorted. "You’re the one who scared me! You and my uncle are already sleeping together?"
