Chapter 78: Chapter: 77 Meeting mom again.

Julius handed the paper back to Alfred. "I wonder who it could be..." he muttered under his breath.

He chuckled softly. ’Some extra? Then it would be like those novels where the main character is reborn as a side character. I’ll steal all the heroines, lol."

The thought made his eyes sparkle with amusement.

"Haa..." He let out a long sigh, then turned to Rosel, who was still snug in his right arm.

He gently rubbed her soft cheek with his thumb. "Alright, little princess. Let’s go get something to eat."

Rosel looked up at him with big, innocent eyes. "What are we going to eat today, Papa?" she asked.

Her eyes squinted cutely as Julius playfully pinched her cheeks.

"How about meat?" Julius suggested with a grin.

"Meat is super tasty and it has all the good stuff to help you grow strong and—"

Before he could finish, the loud sound of horse carriages rolling closer echoed through the air.

Julius turned his head, eyebrows lifting in curiosity as he looked toward the gate.

But before the carriage even came fully into view, a bright, dramatic voice rang out.

"Oh my baby boy! What happened to you?!"

The next instant...."BOOM!"

Something hit him like a warm, sweet-smelling storm.

Julius almost lost his grip on Rosel as a woman suddenly wrapped him in a tight, energetic hug.

"Mom...?" Julius blinked in shock, his eyes widening in disbelief.

It was Elizabeth, his mother, clinging to him with all her love and worry.

"What happened to you? I was so worried sick!"

She cried, her voice full of concern as she squeezed him even tighter.

"Mom..." Julius managed to squeeze out the words while struggling to keep hold of Rosel.

His mother was practically hanging off him now, making it hard to balance. "I’m having a little difficulty here..."

"No, I won’t!" Elizabeth said firmly. She kept her tight hold on Julius, refusing to let go.

"How can I let go when my once-in-a-billion, handsome, genius of a son... got injured while protecting something very important?"

Her last words came out through clenched teeth in a soft whisper only he could hear.

"You are going to pay for hurting yourself, my dear son..."

"Ugh..." Julius finally stopped struggling and just looked at her with a helpless expression.

"Do you know how painful it was for me to squeeze you out of me?"

She whispered close to his ear. "How dare you hurt yourself?!"

Julius’s face turned a little pale. "Wh-what are you talking about...?" he stuttered.

"You think I don’t—"

"Grandma...?" Rosel suddenly blinked at her and called out innocently.

"Huh?" Elizabeth lifted her head and finally noticed the little girl snug in Julius’s arm.

She looked at Rosel, then back at Julius.

"....."

She looked at Rosel again, then back at Julius. Slowly, with each turn, her face grew redder and redder, her eyes wide with pure disbelief.

She staggered back a step, covering her mouth with both hands.

"No, no, no... How could this be...? Wasn’t she supposed to hate him...? So why does he have a child...?"

Her voice came out in a shocked whisper.

"How could this be... My genius, beautiful, handsome, once-in-a-billion simp of a son... even has a daughter...? How...?"

"Grandma!" Rosel giggled happily.

She blinked her big eyes super fast, looking super cute as she called out again.

"Mom, you are misunderstanding... it’s not what you think—" Julius started to explain.

"Papa!" Rosel interrupted again, looking up at him and blinking her big eyes innocently.

"Sniff... What did I even leave out?" Elizabeth suddenly broke down in tears. "I gave you everything, love, money, everything!"

"But you didn’t even think twice about asking your mom before you got married!" She started sobbing loudly. "Sob, sob."

"Ahh, my son betrayed me..." She dramatically fell to the ground, crying even harder.

"Ugh, my son! First I sent a beautiful girl your way, but you had already fallen for another."

"I thought, okay, alright... after all, he is my only son, so what can I say? Now you even have a daughter... Sob, sob."

Julius rubbed his temple as a headache started to build.

"Haa... she is still the same," he muttered with a sigh.

But honestly, he couldn’t help but smile. He never thought he would meet her again after she had died in his previous life.

Seeing her being this dramatic as ever made his heart feel warm.

He let out another soft sigh, knelt down, and gently placed Rosel on the ground.

Then he walked over to his mother.

He knelt in front of her and hugged her tightly.

"It’s been a while, Mom," he said, controlling his voice so it wouldn’t break.

For Elizabeth, it had only been a few months, but for him it had been six long years.

He never thought he would ever see her again.

"I missed you a lot..."

"Sniff... I missed you too, my son," she whispered, clutching him tightly as she kept sniffing.

Meanwhile, outside the gate, two carriages came to a stop.

Dean Orin Belebright, Professor Ignel, and Professor Lucian stepped out and walked through the gate.

The moment they entered, they saw Julius hugging his mother warmly.

"Haa..." Professor Ignel let out a deep sigh of relief.

"I was fortunate... no, everyone was fortunate that he didn’t die..." He didn’t finish the sentence as he continued walking forward.

After sobbing for a bit, Elizabeth finally calmed down. But her tight hug on Julius didn’t loosen even a little.

"Where is Father?" Julius asked.

He glanced toward the back where the professors and the dean were walking closer.

Elizabeth clenched her teeth in sudden anger. "He didn’t come," she said.

"We had an agreement that we would both come to see you, but that son of a—" She stopped herself and clenched her fists tightly.

"But don’t worry, sweetheart. Once I get home, I’ll beat him up for you."

Her angry gaze suddenly softened as it landed on Rosel.

The little girl blinked at her innocently, looking a bit puzzled. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"Haa..." Elizabeth let out a long sigh. "Now that you already have a daughter... what can I say!"

She took a heavy breath and smiled at the girl. "What’s your name, sweetie?"

Rosel’s blinking stopped for a moment.

She turned to Elizabeth with a bright smile and said, "I’m Rosel Augustus Hayes!"

She blinked again, shooting out her signature sparkling stars from her big eyes.

"Papa called you Mom, so you are my grandma!" She bowed her head slightly, looking super cute and polite.
