My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 95- War Is War (Part 2)
Chapter 95- War Is War (Part 2)
The hunters spread everywhere, taking every single possible point to view the entire place. They stayed within bushes, on trees, and even in open points that gave them good access to the area easily, in case they needed to.
They wanted to make sure they could assist the patriarch at a moment’s notice. After all, this was possibly going to turn very ugly very quickly.
The situation was very tense, even though it was quiet. It felt like everything could turn into chaos within a second. However, these were no mere Hunters; these were the creme of the crop in the world.
Each one of these hunters was an experienced warrior with enough power to deal devastating damage to any target.
Geralt walked to the middle of the field and stopped as he looked ahead. He could sense the presence of the vampire around him, but he couldn’t pinpoint where he was exactly. However, his suspicion was confirmed... This was a Vampire Nobel and a very high ranked one at that.
’I haven’t seen one of those bastards in a while.’ He mused. ’They are quite the arrogant bunch, so they don’t bother to come down to earth. Yet, this one seems to be a bit too curious for his own good.’
"Come out. I brought myself here since you wanted to meet me." Geralt said coldly, in a quiet tone. He didn’t need to yell; the vampire was listening.
A few seconds passed with nothing happening before Geralt saw something. A black dot appeared on the ice sheet ahead of him, that dot quickly grew like a symbiotic creature before it rose from the ground and shaped itself into the rough shape of a human.
Geralt stared at the process silently. Eventually, the vampire formed and looked at Geralt.
"Oh my, I didn’t expect the high and mighty Geralt Vaylor to come visit me. I gave your son that invite while thinking the chances of seeing you are very slim."
"..."
"Oh well, nice to meet you. I believe this is the first time we met each other."
"It indeed is." Geralt replied coldly.
"Oh, why are you so sure? You don’t know how I look." The vampire replied with a curious tone.
"Because if we met before, you wouldn’t be standing here taunting me and harming my people," Geralt replied as he pointed at the ground, indicating a clear meaning of what he was saying.
The threat made the vampire’s grin widen. "Oh yeah? You do strike me as a very decisive and brutal man. What? Did my toying a bit with your children anger you?"
"You are lucky I’m not severing your head from your shoulders already," Geralt replied. "What is your purpose of attacking them, and what do you want?"
"You are misunderstanding something, Mr Geralt." The vampire said as he started walking around the man. "I’m not someone who does things for greater goals. I merely wanted to see what angering the strongest human in the world would get me."
"Are you suicidal?"
"Pffft, surely not. I love my life, and I know well that even if you try, you can’t really kill me. Your cronies won’t either." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
The words were very provocative and arrogant, clearly intended to make Geralt even more outraged than he already is. However, the man didn’t let that get to him as he traced the vampire with his eyes.
"But, if I have to say something... There are a few things that will be quite convenient for me if things go as I wish."
"The historic deal. Is that what brought you here, monster?"
"The historic deal? Hahaha, of course not. That matter doesn’t interest me. Peace is temporary, while war is eternal. However, I do have quite a few nice pieces of information for you."
"What are you saying?"
"Well, the very first one is quite simple. On this planet, and in that very city you live in currently... There is a person that if you knew who they are, you would do things even you don’t predict."
"Who?"
"Let’s not spoil all the fun, shall we? That person isn’t someone you should mess around with. They can get reeeeeally scary when they’re provoked. Even I don’t dare to mess with them too much. I still want to preserve my soul."
Those words, coming from a vampire that casually attacked the children of the strongest Vampire Hunter in the world and didn’t even bat an eye doing it... What could this person he was talking about even be?
The idea made Geralt even more suspicious.
"Haha, they have been living under your nose this entire time, going everywhere they wished while you were completely unaware."
"And why are you telling me all of this now?"
"Well, consider it an apology for what I did to your children for my own fun."
"..."
"Ahahaha, I guess that’s far from enough to compensate you. So, how about something else?" The vampire said. "Well, this one is far more spicy than the first one. Living in the same city you live in is another individual... A person that might interest you far more than the first one."
"..."
"One that you don’t want to exist, Mr Geralt. One that could threaten everything you worked hard to build your entire life. Someone who could become your worst nightmare if you don’t find them."
"Do you think telling me about that wouldn’t just make my job very easy locating this person?"
"Oh trust me, you will never find them. Unless fate itself decides for you to come across them, you will never truly see them in your life. Or perhaps, you will see them, but never truly realize that they’re the ones who will plunge a sword into your heart."
"..." Geralt squinted his eyes. Something told him that everything the vampire was saying wasn’t all just made-up nonsense for his own pleasure. If anything, his heart grew a bit uneasy, something he rarely feels.
"So, all I have to do is extract that information out of you, huh?" He said.
"You think you can do th-"
Before the vampire could even finish the sentence, all he saw was a flying punch, aimed at his face, barely a few inches away. It happened so fast and so silently that nothing essentially happened... As if the man had ceased to exist for a moment, and the next time he manifested in reality again, he was aiming that deadly punch at his face.
It was death. There was no question about it. The vampire knew that if that punch connected, he was dead, and no amount of defense could stop it. If anything, he could see that it was so fast it was basically tearing through the fabric of reality itself.
*Swish*
With no hesitation, he turned into liquid as he got on the ground and moved away. The punch stopped immediately, and the moment it did...
A large gap appeared in the ice. There was no explosion, no loud noises, not even debris. All the ice within that area where the punch was generally aimed disintegrated and disappeared from existence.
Pulling his fist away, Geralt looked at the vampire forming again.
’Haha, what a demon... I can tell he barely put any strength into that punch and it could’ve torn me into pieces.’ It felt so terrifying that the vampire could only laugh to himself. ’Finally, a worthy opponent to have fun with.’
Licking his lips, he looked at Geralt.
"Let’s dance, shall we?"
