Julius smiled and gently rubbed her soft cheek with his free hand.

’She is the daughter of destiny. In the original story, she was supposed to stay trapped there, waiting for that trash hero to come and rescue her. She was one of the main reasons the hero survived later on.’

The more Julius thought about it, the more the pieces clicked together.

’By taking her away, I changed the plot in my favor.’

His expression grew more and more sure. His brows knitted together tightly.

After he rescued Rosel, someone sent fifty spies to watch him. Then came something that wasn’t in the original TST at all.

’The Saint Trial.’

He had sent his avatar almost three months ago.

One month later, the avatar was announced as the Saint candidate.

And right after that announcement came the biggest spike, sixty-five spies.

All of these big events were never in the original story.

’If I had transmigrated into another character, and the main villain suddenly started doing all these crazy things, I would definitely get suspicious too.’

Proposing to Rosalina early could maybe be explained away, after all, the original Julius wasn’t shown much at the start, and his relationship with the villainess wasn’t explored in detail.

But the biggest and most obvious change was when he took Rosel.

’If I were another character, especially one on the hero’s side, I would definitely keep a close eye on this Julius to figure out what was going on.’

’To check if he was a transmigrator... or a regressor with future knowledge.’

Julius kept thinking in his mind while still carrying Rosel comfortably in his arm.

’I know the other person probably brushed off my early proposal to Rosalina as nothing but coincidence.’

’But the moment they saw Rosel... they couldn’t hold back. They sent those fifty spies just two days later. That means they’re watching me from very close by.’

He grinned.

’For example, they sent a whole bunch of spies the very same day I proposed.’

’That kind of fast reaction only happens when someone is right here in the neutral city of Agarta.’

’And as a transmigrator, this is the smartest place to be, especially since the hero is about to arrive and tons of big chances will pop up.’

Julius’s eyes grew more confident.

’Their reactions were super quick every time, so it’s very likely they’re somewhere in this city right now.’

He looked straight at Alfred.

"Alfred, I want you to investigate every single person in the neutral city of Agarta who can afford to send at least a hundred spies at the same time."
