Villainess X Villain: They are obsessed with each other!-Chapter 79 -: 78 Clearing out misunderstandings.
"So you adopted her?" Elizabeth asked as she sipped her tea.
They were now sitting comfortably inside the mansion.
Julius sat beside his mother, and Rosel sat next to her, happily munching on snacks.
Little bits of food stuck to her cheeks and nose.
Elizabeth smiled softly and gently wiped the mess off Rosel’s face with a napkin.
"Ahem, I thought you were too young to have a daughter... but you should have explained it to me sooner."
Julius narrowed his eyes playfully.
"Since you appeared, you didn’t even let me speak for one second! You assumed everything by yourself. How was I supposed to explain?"
He let out a sigh.
It wasn’t new, in his past life, she had been exactly the same: super energetic and a little crazy in the best way.
Julius looked ahead. The dean, Professor Lucian, and Professor Ignel were sitting across from them.
"What brings you here all of a sudden?" he asked.
The dean stood up, and the two professors stood with him.
All three bowed toward Julius at the same time.
"We apologize," they said together.
"It was our lack of attention that made you go through such a traumatic experience at the academy."
"If we had been more careful, this would never have happened," the dean added, bowing once more.
Julius gave an embarrassed smile and raised his hands.
"No need for that, professors. It was my fault for not telling everyone what I saw."
He clenched his fists, his face full of regret. "If it weren’t for my stubbornness, the relic wouldn’t have been stolen."
"Yeah, he’s right," Elizabeth chimed in. She showed a matching look of regret.
"Who knew there would be such a big attack while everyone was busy with the Saint Trial?"
"Now please sit down," Elizabeth said with a gentle smile. "You’re embarrassing us."
The three men sat back down with heavy sighs, especially Professor Ignel.
He still looked full of guilt, as if he blamed himself for not protecting his student.
"Haa..." Dean Orin sighed deeply.
"So, Julius, as your mother told you, we were at the Saint Trial when all this happened. Professor Ignel told us what he saw, but he couldn’t explain what happened inside the treasury."
He paused, another regretful sigh escaping him.
"If it’s okay with you to recall those traumatic moments... can you please tell us exactly what happened?"
"Of course," Julius nodded right away. He spoke in a serious tone.
"To start off, I didn’t go to the academy that day. I was feeling bored, so I stayed home because there was nothing interesting happening."
Everyone’s attention was fixed on him as he continued.
"Around 7 at night, after I finished my training, I suddenly had a vision," he explained.
"As you all know, I can glimpse the future through my All-Seeing Eyes. But I still can’t control it very well."
"The visions usually come when I’m in danger, or when it involves me or someone I care about."
Everyone nodded in agreement. They knew how powerful yet tricky that ability was.
Elizabeth gave a short nod and gently patted his back while listening carefully.
"The vision showed me the academy under attack... and my Rose in danger," Julius said. His voice grew softer. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Elizabeth couldn’t help but frown a little. ’What does he see in her instead of Seraphina?’ she thought with a sigh.
’My son really fell hard.’ She clicked her tongue quietly in her mind.
"So I rushed to the academy with Alfred to save Rose," he continued, recalling a story that never actually happened.
"But when we reached the gate," he added with a regretful face, "outsiders aren’t allowed inside. So Alfred couldn’t enter with me."
The professors looked a bit guilty when they heard that, but there was nothing they could do, it was a safety rule for the students.
Only students accepted by the academy could go in.
Still, if Alfred had been allowed inside, the divination board might not have been stolen.
Julius went on, "I was so worried that I ran into the academy alone."
"When I reached the auditorium where all the students had gathered, it was already too late. A man was escaping in a hurry."
"I saw my Rose shouting at him in anger. I got angry too, thinking he must have done something bad. So after making sure Rose was safe, I chased after him."
"He moved really fast and went into the underground area of the academy. I got suspicious when I saw him acting like that."
"So I stayed quiet and followed. Then he opened a door, that’s when I attacked."
"I used my strongest spells and took him down right away," Julius paused for dramatic effect and leaned forward a little.
"But that’s when he used some green gas on me."
"All my mana suddenly disappeared from my core, and I became completely useless..." He let out a heavy sigh.
"As you can probably guess, that man did those things to me after I couldn’t move anymore."
The room fell completely silent once Julius finished speaking.
The only sound was Rosel happily munching on her snacks, her little cheeks puffed out as she chewed.
The silence stretched for a few moments while the professors sat deep in thought, their faces serious.
After a while, Dean Orin stroked his messy beard slowly and asked, "Julius, by any chance, did you see how the man looked like?"
"Umhm," Julius shook his head right away.
"He was wearing a creepy smiling mask, so I couldn’t see his face at all."
"Was the mask white?" Elizabeth suddenly spoke up.
She had been listening quietly until now, but her voice was sharp and curious.
"Yeah," Julius nodded, looking genuinely confused on the outside. "But how do you know?"
Inside, he already knew exactly why she asked, but he kept his face blank and innocent.
The dean, Professor Lucian, and Professor Ignel quickly exchanged glances with each other.
Their expressions turned grim as they looked back at Elizabeth.
"Could it be him...?" one of them said softly, almost in a whisper.
