Chapter 80: Chapter: 79 Don’t you think it’s cool?

After discussing a few more matters, the dean and the two professors finally stood up, said their goodbyes, and left the mansion.

The moment the door closed behind them, Elizabeth cleared her throat loudly.

"Ahem!"

She snapped her knuckles one by one.

"Crack. Crack. Crack."

Her eyes twitched, and thick veins popped out on her forehead.

"My dear son..." she said in a sweet but dangerous voice.

Julius, who was sitting right beside her, shifted uncomfortably in his chair.

"Y-yeah?" he gulped heavily.

"Do you know what kind of stunts you have pulled?" Elizabeth asked.

Her eyes were closed in a perfect crescent-moon smile, which somehow made her look even scarier.

"No...?" Julius answered nervously. He slowly slid his chair a little backward.

"Pop!"

Another big vein appeared on her forehead as she kept cracking her knuckles again and again.

"What did you think? That I wouldn’t know you sent an avatar to take the Saint Trial?" she asked, still smiling that scary sweet smile.

"Wh-what are you talking about... Mom?" Julius tried to stand up and walk away, but Elizabeth’s voice stopped him.

"Don’t worry, dear son. I won’t beat you right now," she said as she slowly opened her eyes.

Her gaze landed on his heavily bandaged left arm, from shoulder all the way down to his fingers.

She sighed deeply. Beating him now would be pointless.

He was already in so much pain from the Saint Trial that her hits probably wouldn’t even hurt him.

"Relax," she continued, turning toward him.

"Did you really think you could escape my eyes just by changing the avatar’s face a little?"

She glanced over at Rosel, who was sitting on the floor happily playing "house" with her dolls, making them talk to each other in cute voices.

"You have really made a big mess in the past four months, haven’t you?"

Elizabeth said. "And that attack during the Saint Trial... was that your doing too?"

Julius shifted back into a more comfortable position and nodded honestly.

"Yeah," he admitted. "I needed the church for something very important. So there was no better way than taking the Saint Trial myself."

Elizabeth stayed quiet.

She picked up her cup of tea, which had gone completely cold, and took a slow sip.

"And luckily, I got exactly what I wanted, so it worked out in my favor," Julius added with a small smile.

She still didn’t reply.

Her face looked very angry as she stared at the table without saying a word.

Julius scooted closer and gently nudged her shoulder with his elbow.

"Oh come on, Mom. Don’t be angry. Your son even got you that new famous nickname..."

Elizabeth’s cheeks turned a little red. She coughed awkwardly. "Ahem, ahem... I suppose so."

She secretly thought the new nickname was pretty cool.

"Goddess of Death... Not bad, Mom!" Julius buttered her up with a big grin.

"Your big rampage really earned you something awesome."

Surprisingly, his buttering up worked really well.

Elizabeth raised her chin high in the air, looking proud and satisfied.

Julius saw the perfect chance and quickly continued praising her.

"Just think about it, Mom," he said eagerly, leaning closer.

"What will others say when they hear your name? The Goddess of Death, the one and only Lady Elizabeth, the greatest, most beautiful, once-in-a-billion mother of Julius!"

He grinned and leaned in even more. "And just imagine how your daughter-in-law will—"

Before he could finish, Elizabeth snapped out of her proud little moment.

She turned toward him, looking both angry and helpless at the same time.

"What did you see in her?" she asked, frowning hard.

"I sent Seraphina to you. She is calm, gentle, beautiful, and loyal. She even liked you! So why did you choose that arrogant daughter of that son of a gun?"

She shook her head. "Do you know how your father will react when he hears about this?"

"Not to mention those old geezers in the clan. They will probably shout ’Kick him out of the clan! Kick him out of the clan!’"

"But you won’t, right?" Julius smirked at her.

"Well..." Elizabeth calmed her expression a little. "I would rather kick them out instead."

She looked at him with desperate eyes. "But still... what’s with you? Why did you suddenly like that girl so much?"

"Nothing much," Julius shrugged casually.

"To be honest, you might not remember her face, but we visited a ball a long time ago where her family was also invited. She is the most beautiful girl you will ever see."

He smirked again and nudged her shoulder playfully. "And besides, she and I are the greatest geniuses in the three floating continents."

"Just think about the future, Mom!" He nudged her once more with a big grin.

"Haaa..." Elizabeth let out a long sigh. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

She gave up trying to make him understand and rubbed her temple with her fingers.

"It’s really hard being your mother... sigh..."

Julius nudged her shoulder again with a playful grin. "But you are proud that your only son is so smart, aren’t you?"

"Anyway," she said, gently stopping his nudge with her hand. "When are you coming home?"

"Three more months? Maybe..." Julius rubbed his chin as he thought.

’The Lone King’s Inheritance will appear in two months, so three months would be perfect.’

"By the way, Mom," he asked, turning a bit more serious. "Can you find a good time path inheritance in the clan for me?"

"Time path?" Elizabeth’s brows knitted together in surprise.

"But aren’t you going to take the space path? I thought of giving you my inheritance." She looked a little disappointed.

"As you know, the inheritance I’m using comes from my family. My father and grandfather both used this inheritance. It would be good if you took the space path too."

Julius looked at her and smiled softly.

In his previous life, the original Julius had chosen the space path and became really powerful and strong.

But Julius knew this body actually had more potential in the time path.

Plus, nothing was better than time path abilities when dealing with the hero’s regression powers.

After thinking it over for a moment, he spoke again. "No, I think time path would suit me the best."
