URBAN VILLAIN SYSTEM-Chapter 28: Dealing With a Clown -2
John stared at Tony with hatred, his expression no longer masked by politeness.
"So what if you heard everything?" John said coldly, staring straight at Tony. "I’ll say it again, right here, to your face. You are not worthy to stand beside my sister. Someone like you doesn’t deserve her."
The surrounding Frost members fell silent. No one dared interrupt.
Tony didn’t react immediately. Instead, he tilted his head slightly, studying John with a faint, almost amused expression. Then he nodded lightly.
"You’re right," Tony said calmly. "I’m not worthy."
John froze for a fraction of a second, clearly not expecting that response.
Tony’s smile widened just a little.
"But then again... she still chose me," he continued, "So what does that say about your sister? Do you think she’s incapable of making decisions? Or are you saying she’s simply a fool?"
A ripple of tension spread instantly.
John’s face stiffened.
He opened his mouth, but no words came out. He could insult Tony all he wanted, but dragging Lily into it was a completely different matter.
The silence stretched.
Tony leaned slightly closer, his gaze colder now. "Go on," he said quietly. "Say it clearly. You think your sister is a fool?"
John clenched his fists, his jaw tightening.
"You’re twisting my words," he snapped. "Don’t drag her into this. You already admitted that you are a useless fool with no talent. That’s enough."
Tony let out a soft laugh, shaking his head.
"I don’t argue with children who bark too much," he said lightly. "My father always told me... never waste time with fools. The fools will lower us to their level and prove their superiority."
John’s eyes flashed with anger.
"You...!!!"
Without warning, he hurled the metal ball toward Tony.
It cut through the air with terrifying force, fast enough to crush bones on impact.
But before it could reach him... A sharp pulse of life energy surged forward.
Lily’s spear moved like lightning, intercepting the ball mid-air and pulling it toward her control.
"Enough," she said coldly, her gaze locking onto John. "This ends here. If you continue, I won’t hold back next time."
She tossed the ball back toward him without another word.
John caught it... but his expression was dark.
He stared at Tony for a long moment before turning away, his frustration barely contained. "Everyone, positions!" he shouted sharply. "Stop wasting time."
The game resumed, but the atmosphere had shifted.
Lily turned toward Tony, her expression calmer now, though her eyes held a hint of curiosity. "You didn’t even move," she said. "Do you understand what would have happened if that hit you?"
Tony shrugged slightly. "I would have handled it."
Lily studied him carefully. There was no fear... No hesitation... Only calm.
"He is pretending? or really brave!" Lily wondered in silence.
Tony casually pulled out the invitation letter and handed it to her. "Take a look at this," he said.
Lily glanced at it briefly before returning it. "I’ve already seen it. Congratulations."
Tony snorted lightly. "Congratulations? Did you read the conditions properly? They expect me to pass their entrance test within a month. That’s not an invitation... it’s a setup."
His tone turned slightly irritated.
"They know I can’t pass it. This is just a way to humiliate me while squeezing resources from my family."
Lily didn’t deny it.
"Even so, you won’t be alone there. I’ll guide you." she said calmly.
Tony raised an eyebrow. "You sound confident."
"I am," she replied simply.
He didn’t argue, but his expression remained thoughtful.
Then his gaze shifted back toward John.
"That one," Tony asked, pointing directly. "Fifth elder’s son?!"
Lily followed his gaze and nodded. "Yes. If things go his way, he’ll become the next family head."
Tony let out a faint chuckle. "No wonder he’s so desperate."
Lily’s lips curved slightly. "He’s more afraid than angry."
Before their conversation could continue, a call echoed from the field.
"Lily! We’re starting!"
She sighed softly and picked up her spear. "I’ll be back."
Tony waved his hand casually and walked toward the edge of the field, taking a seat as if he were simply there to enjoy a show.
"Go on," he said with a faint grin. "Let me see how strong my future wife really is."
Lily glanced back briefly, giving him a look that was half warning, half amusement, before stepping onto the field.
The game began.
Unlike normal football, this was a battlefield disguised as sport. The field was twice the size, and the ball.. a heavy iron sphere... was deadly if mishandled. Every player used life energy to control, strike, and redirect it, turning each movement into a test of strength and precision.
Control was everything.
Tony leaned back slightly, watching with interest.
Julie was also among the players, wielding a wind fan, though she avoided looking in his direction.
In the field... Lily moved. Her spear spun, gathering a concentrated burst of frost energy.
With a sharp motion, she struck the ball. It shot forward like a streak of light.
John barely had time to react as it passed inches from his face and slammed into the goal.
Silence.
Then... Cheers erupted.
Tony stood up immediately, clapping loudly. "Not bad!" he shouted with a grin. "You’re even better than I expected!"
Lily glanced back, her expression momentarily softening before she gestured subtly for him to quiet down.
But on the other side... John’s expression had completely darkened.
He walked back slowly, his grip tightening around the ball.
His brother approached him quietly. "You’re losing control," he muttered. "Everyone is watching."
John’s eyes remained fixed on Tony.
"That bastard..." he said under his breath. "He thinks this is a joke."
His brother leaned closer. "Then stop playing fair."
John didn’t respond immediately. Then... A slow smile formed.
-
The game resumed.
Lily moved toward the front again, her attention fully on the match.
John, however... Shifted his game suddenly.
He deliberately moved toward the rear, positioning himself at an angle no one questioned.
The ball returned to him... He didn’t pass... Didn’t hesitate.
Instead... He gathered all his strength. Life energy surged violently around him as he kicked the iron ball with full force.
But not toward the goal.
Toward Tony!
"No...!"
Lily’s voice cut through the field as she realized too late. She was too far... Her life energy wouldn’t reach in time.
Julie froze, her eyes widening as the trajectory became clear. There was no stopping it.
The ball tore through the air, faster than before, carrying enough force to crush bone and shatter a skull instantly.
Tony stood still while staring at the upcoming iron ball.
John’s lips curled into a cruel smile.
"You’re finished," he muttered.
