"Let’s talk about the situation first."

Melissa told him the general situation and handed over the whole thing to nannies who were the main witnesss.Meanwhile,she didn’t open the note in her hand,nor did she mention it to anyone.

"We will investigate it carefully.Your family has surveillance cameras.Maybe we can check the footage to know who it was."John suggested.

Melissa shook her head."My two children were lost before.The surveillance cameras were broken and since the two children were found,I haven’t had the time to change it."

John asked a few more questions randomly.The nanny asked a few questions and handed him the photos taken on the scene."Let’s wait for the results first.You can think about whether you have offended anyone or not."

Melissa sighed,"thank you for what happened today.I’ll think about it myself."

After sending John out,Melissa drove to the old house.

Maybe she could find the answer there.

When she arrived at the old house,she heard a burst of laughter,which was in sharp contrast to her own haze.

Melissa steadied herself and walked inside.

The laughter suddenly stopped when she pushed the door open.

It seemed that her intrusion had posed a great threat to them.

In the old house,Mr.Marc,Mrs.Gibson were there,along with Linda Gibson.When they snapped their head towards the uninvited guest,they stared at her as if she was a joke.

"Oh,isn’t she the EX WIFE of Murray?Why are you here?Your family and our family have already broken up,haven’t they?"Linda mocked,emphasising the word’ex wife’a bit more clearly.Melissa knew that,she always been eccentric and has never changed,so she turned a deaf ear to her.

"If I don’t come here today,I would I know where my child is."Melissa dropped the news to study their reaction.To find her child,she was willing to take every bet.

"Didn’t you take the children away?Did you lose them again?"Mrs.Gibson poured all the blame on Melissa more than asking,without even trying to figure out the whole thing.

Melissa glanced at Mr.Marc and his calm reaction really strange.

Generally speaking,he was the one to be more anxious when he knew that his grandchildren were missing last time.But this time he was strangely calm.

"Don’t you really know where the child is?"Melissa asked again.

"What do you mean?Are you saying that we took away the babies?"Linda was about to open her mouth to speak but Mrs.Gibson cut her,giving her a warning look.

"We all are well aware of who I am talking about.Don’t use such a despicable method to take my children away."Melissa’s rasped,running out of patience.There was no need to waste much time with them,so she straightly came to the point.

"It’s all your fault that you couldn’t take care of your babies and now you’re accusing us of taking away your children.Who do you think you are to barge in and talk with us like that?Don’t forget that you have divorced my son,and he already has a fiancee."

Mrs.Gibson words were sharp,making her look as if she was the one at fault.

Melissa tried not to mind her words but still it shot a dull pain in her heart,thinking of him having a fiance so soon.Although they both had divorced,during the time when Murray disappeared,she had never given up a glimmer of hope to look for Murray.Unfortunately,she failed everytime but still she kept on looking for him.

This time,when he was finally back,she had a clean break with him,she heard that he already has a fiance.

No wonder he was so cruel to her.It turned out that he had already fallen in love with another woman.

"Murray has nothing to do with me.I just want to know where my child is now."

Melissa said sternly.

"Your child is not here.You can find him somewhere else."Linda answered her lazily,curling up on the couch.

Melissa threw the note on the table,in front of Mr.Marc and said,"This note was left by the people who took my child away.If I’m not wrong,the person on it should be Linda Gibson.I can’t understand what you are trying to do with that innocent child." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

After saying that,Melissa sat down on couch opposite to Linda.

After a long silence,Mr.Marc asked,"did you do it,Linda?"

Linda was caught off guard by the sudden and unexpected question from Mr.Marc.

"Dad,what are you talking about?How could I kidnapp my own child?"She shuttered.

Mr.Marc asked in confusion,"they’re Murray’s child.What are you talking about?"

"Nothing!You’re just making me sick.I’ll go upstairs!"Realizing that she said something that she shouldn’t,Linda immediately ran upstairs.

The hall was silent for a while and Melissa took it as the opportunity to talk to Mr.Marc,"Mr.Marc,as the elder of the family,I have always respected you,no matter if it’s the company or home.I wanted acquired the company because I didn’t want to see something that actually belonged to Murray destroy.But now the matter of the child is not something to be trifled with.I hope you can think it over carefully."

Melissa made it clear,and she knew that Mr Marc was a smart man.He could understand what was going on.

Mrs.Gibson sat aside,as if it was none of her business.

Melissa swaggered out of the old house.She didn’t have to worry about the safety of her children anymore,because she knew that someone would take care of them better than her.

As expected,Mr Marc went upstairs on his crutches.

He knocked hard on the door of Linda Gibson’s room."Open the door and make everything clear.I’d like to know what’s going on."

Mr.Marc knocked at the door for half an hour before the door was finally opened.

As for Mrs.Gibson,she stood aside and watched quietly.She knew better than to get herself into any mess.

"Explain to me!"Mr.Marc demanded,"When you wanted to go back to China,I agreed.You wanted to work in the company of Murray and take over his position.I agreed that too.You made a mess in the company,and there were many cases of corruption and bribery.I helped you deal with it on the first day.I endured it all because I wanted you to be stable and stop doing these nonsense all day long."

Mr.Marc only had one daughter,so she naturally hoped to give the best to this daughter but he never expected her to go this worst."

"Now tell me why you kidnapped the two children?"Mr.Marc asked.No matter how badly disliked Melissa,he wouldn’t risk his grandson’s life.

Sitting on the dresser,Linda threw her phone and smashed everything on it into pieces."Don’t ask me.I just took away my own child.What did I do wrong again?"

Mr.Marc was even more confused."Your own child?What are you talking about?"

Mrs.Gibson chimed in,"Dad,maybe the child of Claire Gibson wasn’t Claire Gibson’s,but a girl’s."

Hearing this,Mr.Marc became even more anxious."Didn’t the children jump into the sea?It took me a lot of efforts to find the two children.Whose children were they?Who are their parents"
