It was dawn,Harley had arrived the hospital earlier than usual.He finally had gotten his chance for vengeance.

Seeing that Tom also sat on the chair and was dozing off,Harley tiptoed over to him,and kicked him hard in the shin.

Tom glared angrily at him after waking up.He stood up,and grabbed Harley’s collar.

"You want to hit me?It’s morning bro.Am I wrong to wake you up?"Harley explained calmly.He pushed Tom away and arranged his collar with disgust.

The hospital’s hallway was very quite.Afraid of disturbing Nina and the other patients,Tom endured his choler and sat down again.

"I won’t leave until Nina is awake."He replied coldly and lowered his head.

Harley ignored him and walked into the ward.He met Nina standing by the window and gazing at the rising of the sun.

"Nina,you’re up so early?"Harley walked over to her and wrapped his hands around shoulders,but before he could mutter another word,Nina turned around indifferently and stared at Harley with glazed eyes,she asked,

"Has Tom left yet?

"Not yet."Harley responded not happy that Nina mentioned that name.

"I’ll be outside for a while."Nina didn’t explain where she headed to Harley,she just asked him to help look after True who was sleeping.

When she walked out of the ward,Nina saw Tom sitting on the bench with his head’s down.

"Tom."Nina called out.Tom raised his head to see who it was,his face beamed with a smile the moment he saw it was Nina.

"Thank you for all the troubles you’ve gone through these past few days."Nina said with a smile,but her smile was that of despair very bitter and sad.Tom couldn’t help but feel bad for her sake.

"Nina,you don’t have to thank me"Tom stood,he wanted giving her a hug,but seeing that she was still very sad.He decided to respect himself.

"I’m sorry that I didn’t stay with you during the first night of the incident."He apologized.He did blame him self for not visiting Nina often,maybe he could have been able to rescue her parents during the fire incident.

"No,you’ve really done enough"Nina shook her head negatively.

They chatted briefly before Tom left for work.He was aware that Nina wanted him to live a positive life,hence he dedicated his living to meet that expectation.

He searched for a restaurant which he would eat breakfast,but when he passed the lottery shop,an idea suddenly came to his mind.

He took the lottery ticket out from his wallet,he held the phone with one hand,staring at the shop and then back to his ticket in his hand,he compared them carefully.The comparison lasted for about thirty seconds..Tom’s face clouded in disappointment.

"I’m not that lucky,I guess"he muttered and smiled bitterly to himself.He entered into the lottery shop,bought some tickets and headed to the restaurant to have some breakfast.

Harley bought some food for Nina.Nina was focused in breastfeeding True and paid little attention to Harley.

Jasmine specifically drove to pick up Nina and True the moment she heard that Nina was to be discharged.

Jasmine knocked lightly on the ward’s door,Harley went to get the door.

"Hello,Jasmine,nice to see you again"Harley greeted,opening the door wider for her.

"Thanks Harley,nice to see you too,hi Nina"Jasmine waved at Nina with a smile.Nina recognized Jasmine,she smiled back at her.

Jasmine had dressed like a woman today,just to impress Nina.

"Nina,let’s go,it’s getting windy,I don’t want you catching a cold."Jasmine reminded Nina of Carlee.Nina grabbed True and headed out of the ward,while Harley carried the little belongings of True and Nina that he had purchased for them during their short stay in the hospital.

Jasmine drove towards the hotel that Nina booked.She deliberately drove slowly and chose the route that traffic often stuck,just to give Harley time to try to persuade her on changing her mind.

"Nina,you really shouldn’t stay in the hotel.Let’s go to our new home,hmm?"Harley initiated,he turn to stare at her but her attention was focused on True.

"If you don’t think it’ll be convenient to live with me,I can continue living in my current house,while you and True stay in the new one."He paused to notice her reaction,but it was still blank.

"I’m going to hire two nannies,one will be responsible for taking care of True,and the other will be responsible for the cleaning and cooking."

Nina,listen to me this once.Next tomorrow is the funeral of your parents,there’ll be lots of things to do.It’s so not appropriate to live in a hotel now.Harley explained looking at her for a response.

Nina let out a sigh and said,

"No,thanks."

Jasmine glanced at them from the rear mirror,she cleared her throat in a bit to persuade her,but Nina remained uncompromising.

The car finally arrived at the hotel.Nina expressed her gratitude to them and walked in with True in her arm.

Inside the room,Harley surveyed around anxiously,and couldn’t help but feel sad that he couldn’t do anything to help.

"How long will you stay here?"He asked Nina who was busy washing the milk bottle.

"A week?"He added after she said nothing.

"I’ll accompany you to the funeral of your parents next tomorrow.Do you need something to take care of True?"He pressed further,trying to get her to talk.

"No,Thank you."Nina replied as she continued to wash True’s feeding bottle.Her face was expressionless and her body was rigid.Harley felt sadder that the only words he kept hearing from her was,

"No,thank you" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Everything he did for her,was done as his responsibility and obligations.Harley wondered if Nina ever saw him more than True’s father.

Sylvia had been monitoring Nina’s movement closely.She was aware that while Nina was hospitalized,Harley and Tom took turns in taking care of her.

She also knew that Harley was helping Nina out with her parents funeral.In addition,she was aware of the hotel that Nina was staying.

In the living room of Carlee,she was scolding the servants for not cleaning the house properly.Sylvia descended the staircase,Carlee paused to take a look at her.

"Are you going somewhere?"Carlee inquired.

In a resentful voice,Sylvia replied,

"I wanna drive round a little."

Carlee was aware of what angered Sylvia.She sighed and said,

"I know you’re annoyed,I’m annoyed as well,but what can we do?"She shrugged.

"Now that Nina’s parents are dead,I can’t drag Harley away from her at this time."Carlee didn’t want to sound ruthless by requesting Harley home.

"Or what do you suggest?"Carlee asked Sylvia.
