Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Seize Every Minute and Second

At that moment, Lin Guo’er’s face was flushed, her beautiful eyes shimmering as she gazed at Lin Kuang. Her warm lips were slightly parted, and her quickened breaths echoed beside his ear.

The scene was indescribably enticing, a true test of whether a man could be as temperate as the legendary Liu Xiahui.

Of course, Lin Kuang was absolutely no Liu Xiahui. Driven by a primal male impulse and a surge of hormones, he scooped Lin Guo’er directly into his arms.

The next moment, he was about to make his move and devour this fully ripened fruit.

Just then, Lin Guo’er snapped out of her daze. Seeing that Lin Kuang was about to lose control, she grew a little scared. It wasn’t that she wanted to reject him. She just didn’t want it to happen here. After all, it was her first time, and she didn’t want to lose it in a place like this. It should be somewhere more... cozy.

With that thought, she panted softly and stopped Lin Kuang’s advance.

"No, don’t. You brute! I said it’s okay at home, but not here! How can my first time be so casual?" Lin Guo’er said shyly, her face flushed red.

Lin Guo’er was usually carefree and didn’t sweat the small stuff, but this was something she cared deeply about. Even though she didn’t know if they had a future together, she was willing to give herself to him right now.

As for the future, no one could say for sure. Perhaps this is what they mean by "seize the day."

Hearing her words, Lin Kuang admitted to himself that he had been too impulsive. Still, the flames roaring within him made it difficult to hold back.

"Then what do you suggest we do?" Lin Kuang asked helplessly.

"What do you mean, what do I suggest?" Lin Guo’er rolled her eyes, grumbling. "You’re the one who suddenly kissed me, so why are you asking me?"

"Uh, I guess you’re right," Lin Kuang said, feeling rather dejected.

"Right! I asked you earlier about what’s going on between you and Shilin. Isn’t it time you gave me an explanation? You’ve kissed me, touched me, and seen everything, and now you treat me like this? You’re heartless!" Lin Guo’er pouted, her voice pitiful. Her beautiful eyes welled with tears as she gazed at Lin Kuang, looking as if she were about to cry.

At this, Lin Kuang felt a wave of awkwardness, and the flames in his heart died down without a trace. She had asked this before, and he had kissed her precisely because he didn’t know how to answer. Now that she was asking again, Lin Kuang was still at a loss for words.

"Well... uh... Guo’er, how should I put this... The truth is, I like both of you," Lin Kuang said, looking at Lin Guo’er’s tearful face and feeling he had no choice but to be honest.

Upon hearing this, Lin Guo’er glared fiercely at him. "I knew it! All you men are fickle! You’re all bastards!"

As she spoke, she huffed at Lin Kuang, her tearful expression completely gone. Lin Kuang was momentarily stunned before he realized, She’s obviously teasing me!

With that thought, he slapped her pert bottom hard. "You dare trick me? Let’s see how I’ll deal with you!" As he spoke, he slapped her rounded backside again.

SLAP!

The crisp sound echoed through Lin Guo’er’s office.

The tingling sensation on her bottom made Lin Guo’er’s face flush crimson again, and that intense, strange feeling surged through her once more. For a moment, she desperately wished she could surrender herself to Lin Kuang, but her rationality managed to rein her in.

"Jerk! Let me down! Someone might see us!" Lin Guo’er said, her face flushed and peeved.

"Alright, so you called me here just to ask me that?" Lin Kuang asked with a teasing smile, setting her down.

"What else would I call you for?" she shot back with a glare.

"So, does that mean you’re jealous?" Lin Kuang asked with a grin, looking at her enchanting face.

"M-Me? Jealous? I couldn’t be bothered to be jealous over you, so don’t flatter yourself!" Lin Guo’er retorted, her blush betraying her words.

"Really? Then I’ll just devour you right now and we’ll see if I’m flattering myself," Lin Kuang said, advancing on her with a mischievous smile.

Seeing this, Lin Guo’er quickly took two steps back, her face flushing again. "Jerk, get away, you creep!" she said irritably, glaring fiercely at him.

"Now, now. We live in a civilized society. We should be polite and not resort to name-calling. It’s most uncivilized," Lin Kuang said with a teasing grin.

Looking at Lin Kuang’s incredibly punchable, smug face, Lin Guo’er fought the urge to slap him. This guy is getting more and more shameless!

"Alright, I’m leaving now. Call me if you need anything, okay?" With that, Lin Kuang winked at her and turned to leave.

Watching his departing silhouette, Lin Guo’er quietly breathed a sigh of relief, yet she also felt a small pang of disappointment. Is it because he didn’t take me right here? Maybe.

In a good mood, Lin Kuang returned to Liu Shilin’s office, where she was busy with company matters.

By now, Ye Tiannan had already learned of Dark Blood’s failed assassination mission, leaving him with mixed feelings of joy and anger. He knew Lin Kuang was formidable, but he’d never imagined he was *this* formidable—to the point that even the Shadow Twins were no match for him. But he was also pleased. If Lin Kuang was this powerful, a fight against Chu Zhongtian would surely leave them both badly wounded. He could then swoop in for the easy pickings. With this thought, Ye Tiannan’s mood improved considerably.

He had been contemplating how to deal with Lin Kuang but so far hadn’t devised a good plan. However, he wasn’t in a rush. With Chu Zhongtian currently battling Lin Kuang, Ye Tiannan was content to watch the drama unfold from the sidelines, feeling no urgency to make his own move.

Ye Tiannan was in a good mood, and so was Chu Zhongtian. Having established a connection with Zhou Da Tao, his business prospects were only getting better, and his profits would soar. Money was something everyone wanted; after all, who would ever complain about having too much?

Dark Blood, however, was in the most miserable position. First, they sent Assassin Tian Wei, who failed. Then, after much effort, they brought in the Shadow Twins, but the two brothers had vanished overnight. Any fool could tell they were dead. This forced Dark Blood to completely reevaluate Lin Kuang’s combat strength.

Ye Tiannan had already paid in full, so despite their heavy losses, Dark Blood had to grit their teeth and see the job through. Their reputation was at stake. Dark Blood had always maintained a record of success, but two consecutive failures was a significant blow. If they ultimately failed to eliminate Lin Kuang, their credibility would be shattered.
