Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 138: The Taste of First Love
With that, the three of them drove out of the estate and found a Chinese restaurant. Having dined together a few times, Liu Shilin had noticed that Lin Kuang didn’t seem fond of Western food, which was why she chose Chinese cuisine. They picked a private room, ordered their food, and ate amidst laughter and conversation.
The meal was both warm and simple. The little witch, in particular, was still her usual self, not forgetting to bicker with Lin Kuang even while eating. Lin Kuang was happy to play along, and the two of them thoroughly enjoyed their war of words. Nearby, Liu Shilin was a little speechless, but she watched the scene with a smile on her face.
After the meal, they all headed home. Lin Kuang rested for a short while before getting up and leaving for the Yang Family’s villa. When he arrived, Yang Ruotong, Yang Ruoxi, and little Xinxin were all there. They had just finished dinner; Yang Ruotong and Yang Ruoxi were clearing the table while little Xinxin was happily bouncing around on the floor.
"Hi, little uncle-in-law, why are you so late today?" the adorable Xinxin asked with a giggle when she saw Lin Kuang arrive.
"Because I had things to do. Have you finished eating, Xinxin?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile, scooping the little girl into his arms.
"Yes! I’m all full. My little tummy is even a bit puffed out," Xinxin pouted, showing off her cute little belly.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang smiled and tickled her tummy, making Xinxin giggle. She looked absolutely adorable.
"Come on, let’s go upstairs," Yang Ruoxi said with a smile, having finished tidying up the dishes.
Lin Kuang nodded and handed Xinxin over to Yang Ruotong. He noticed the shy look in Yang Ruotong’s eyes as she gazed at him and felt a bit puzzled, not sure what it meant. Thinking for a moment, he gently squeezed her chest, causing Yang Ruotong’s pretty face to flush crimson. Her beautiful eyes glistened as she stared at him.
Lin Kuang felt his mouth go dry. Could it be that this mature woman fancies me?
At that thought, he couldn’t help but lower his head and discreetly plant a kiss on Yang Ruotong’s cheek.
"You’re beautiful, Ruotong," Lin Kuang said with a grin.
Hearing this, Yang Ruotong’s face grew even redder. She couldn’t help but give Lin Kuang a playful glare, but she said nothing more. Seeing this, Lin Kuang didn’t press the matter and walked upstairs to Yang Ruoxi’s room.
Sitting cross-legged on the bed, Lin Kuang began infusing Yang Ruoxi with True Qi.
Half an hour later, they both got off the bed.
"Ruoxi, you’re recovering better and better. It looks like it’ll take less than a month for you to completely absorb the Extreme Yin Cold Qi in your body," Lin Kuang said with a smile, looking at her face.
"Really? Does that mean you won’t be coming anymore?" Yang Ruoxi asked subconsciously.
"What? You really want me to keep coming?" Lin Kuang asked with a grin, looking at her pretty face.
"Ah? N-No way! I couldn’t care less if I see you!" Yang Ruoxi said, feigning indifference as a blush rose on her cute little face.
"Really? It doesn’t look that way to me," Lin Kuang asked, still grinning.
"That’s just what you think! What does it have to do with me? Humph!" Yang Ruoxi huffed.
"Alright then. I guess I won’t come anymore," Lin Kuang said dejectedly.
Hearing this, Yang Ruoxi froze, her wide eyes fixed on Lin Kuang.
"You jerk! Don’t you dare!" she exclaimed, her face red as she shook a delicate fist at him in a mock threat.
"Look at you. You used to be so adorable, and now you’re turning into a little tigress," Lin Kuang teased with a smile, pinching her cheek.
"That’s because you make me so mad! No, wait! You’re the one who corrupted me. You were a bad guy to begin with!" Yang Ruoxi retorted, her face flushed with annoyance.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang reached out and pulled her into his arms.
"Then how about we just stay bad together forever, okay?" he murmured with a grin, holding her delicate body close. His warm breath on her face sent a tingling shiver through her, and her cheeks flushed an even deeper red.
"I... I don’t want to be bad with you! I... I have to watch over you, to stop you from being bad," Yang Ruoxi said shyly, leaning her head on his shoulder and hugging him back.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang chuckled. "You’re so easy to trick. How did you agree so quickly?"
"What can I say? I’m just that kind," Yang Ruoxi huffed.
"That’s not called being kind, that’s called being a fool!"
"You’re the fool, you jerk!"
"I’m a jerk, so what does that make you? The jerk’s wife?"
"Absolutely not! I’m the good person in charge of watching the jerk!"
"Someday, you’ll be corrupted by this jerk."
"If I’m going to be corrupted, so be it. At least I’ll have a jerk by my side," Yang Ruoxi muttered.
"Then it’s settled!" Lin Kuang said with a broad smile.
"That still depends on your performance," Yang Ruoxi huffed in response.
"Alright. I’ll await my leader’s inspection!" Lin Kuang said with mock seriousness.
They simply held each other, chatting away like two innocent fools. Perhaps such a pure relationship is the most precious and memorable of all, isn’t it? Perhaps this is the kind of bond that some people cherish most in their hearts—silly and clumsy, like a first love, filled with an innocent happiness they don’t even understand how to possess.
At eight o’clock that evening, Lin Kuang finally left. Even so, he was reluctant to go, as he had grown truly fond of Yang Ruoxi.
As Lin Kuang returned home, Chu Zhongtian’s office at the Xiangya Club was hosting a prominent figure from the East Sea underworld. This person was none other than Zhou Datao, and accompanying him were his two personal bodyguards.
"Mr. Zhou, welcome," Chu Zhongtian said, standing up with a smile and extending his hand as Zhou Datao entered the office.
Facing this underworld boss, Chu Zhongtian adopted a very humble stance. This wasn’t just because of Zhou Datao’s status; on the contrary, Chu Zhongtian had other plans.
Seeing this, Zhou Datao’s pupils narrowed slightly. For Chu Zhongtian to act this way toward a brute like me... this man is definitely not simple!
Zhou Datao had already regarded Chu Zhongtian highly, but now his estimation grew even higher. After all, a person like this was not to be provoked. He was like a smiling tiger. You might think he was friendly, but the moment he bared his fangs, you wouldn’t even have a chance to dodge.
"Haha, Mr. Chu, you’re too kind. It is Datao’s great honor to meet you," Zhou Datao said, bowing slightly as he reached out and firmly shook Chu Zhongtian’s hand.
Handshakes carry a lot of meaning. With an ordinary person, it might be a light grasp. But a firm handshake like this showed that both men held each other in high regard, serving as a way to express their mutual respect.
