Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 122 Overt Threat
When Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er arrived at the company’s entrance, they saw the reporters in the lobby.
Duoduo had already led them into the lobby, where the reporters were continuously interviewing her, asking all sorts of questions in an attempt to pry some information from her. However, Duoduo merely smiled politely, her composure impeccable. The journalists were at a loss. They couldn’t very well use force, could they?
Upon seeing Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er come down, Duoduo gave them a playful wink. Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er shared a small smile before walking out the front door.
After getting into the black Mercedes, Lin Guo’er finally asked, her tone grave, "Where are we going?" Clearly, she was still worried about the company’s situation.
"You said the suppliers are Jiahua and another one called Honglin. What are they responsible for?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile from the driver’s seat.
"Jiahua is responsible for the lingerie fabric, and Honglin is responsible for the clasps. Why do you ask?" Lin Guo’er looked at Lin Kuang, her beautiful eyes filled with confusion.
"Because it’s crucial," Lin Kuang said with a mysterious grin. "You don’t get it yet, do you? You’ll understand in a moment. For now, take me to Jiahua’s headquarters."
Seeing this, Lin Guo’er couldn’t help but huff. "As if I’m dying to know." With that, she began to give Lin Kuang directions.
Gazing at the charming and beautiful Lin Guo’er beside him, Lin Kuang couldn’t resist asking, "Um, Guo’er, can I ask you something?" His voice was tinged with embarrassment, as though he had something difficult to say.
Lin Guo’er was slightly taken aback; she had never seen him with such an expression before.
"What is it?" she asked, blinking her large eyes in confusion.
"Um, well... we’ve, you know, done ’that’... so why do you still push for Shilin to be with me?" Lin Kuang asked awkwardly.
"Huh? That’s your question?" Lin Guo’er gave him an odd look.
Seeing her reaction, Lin Kuang paused for a second but still nodded. "Yeah, that’s the question."
"Oh, it’s nothing. For a man, one big and one small is just perfect, isn’t it?" Lin Guo’er said with a sly smile.
"No way... Are you really that open-minded?" Lin Kuang couldn’t help but ask, his mood improving considerably.
"I was just kidding, you jerk!" Lin Guo’er retorted irritably upon seeing the smile spreading across his face.
"Right. And I was just asking casually," Lin Kuang replied with a straight face.
Hearing that, Lin Guo’er shot him a massive eye-roll.
In less than half an hour, they arrived at the Jiahua Company offices and walked in side by side. A manager named Zhang Tian, who had long been the point of contact for Yashi Company, was there to receive them.
"Manager Lin, long time no see," Zhang Tian said with a smile upon seeing Lin Guo’er.
"Indeed, it has been a long time, Manager Zhang," Lin Guo’er replied coolly. I really can’t stand this man.
Sensing her coldness, Zhang Tian felt a pang of awkwardness. Jiahua and Yashi had cooperated for so long in what had always been a win-win partnership. Their sudden decision to cut off the supply had indeed put him in an embarrassing position. But it was an order from his superiors; his hands were tied.
"Manager Zhang, we don’t blame you, nor do we blame Jiahua Company," Lin Kuang said with a smile, taking a seat opposite him.
Hearing this, Zhang Tian’s expression relaxed slightly, but his eyes showed confusion, as he didn’t know who Lin Kuang was.
"Manager Lin, and this is?" Zhang Tian asked, glancing at Lin Guo’er.
"This is Yashi’s Vice President. You can call him President Lin," Lin Guo’er said flatly, inventing the title on the spot.
"Oh, of course! A pleasure to meet you. Hello, President Lin," Zhang Tian said, quickly getting to his feet to shake Lin Kuang’s hand.
After they both sat down again, Zhang Tian asked, "President Lin, may I ask what brings you here today?"
"Nothing much. I just wanted to inform you that the lingerie produced by Yashi Company was recently inspected by the Quality Supervision Bureau. It turns out they found carcinogenic dyes on it. I’m sure you’re aware of this, Manager Zhang?" Lin Kuang said with a smile, looking at the man across from him.
Zhang Tian was momentarily stunned. "Yes, I’m aware," he said, his expression puzzled, as he couldn’t grasp what Lin Kuang was getting at.
"Good that you know. You should also be aware that the fabric for all our Yashi lingerie is provided by your company, Jiahua. If something happens to Yashi, I’m afraid Jiahua won’t get away unscathed either, will it?" Lin Kuang stated calmly.
At these words, a tremor ran through Zhang Tian, and his face turned deathly pale.
"President Lin, what are you trying to say? The fabric we produce has absolutely no problems! How can you slander us like this!" Zhang Tian shot to his feet, his voice shaking with fury.
"Calm down, Manager Zhang. You need to stay calm," Lin Kuang said. "I’m not sure if you’re being slandered or not. But what I can tell you is this: our Yashi lingerie has a problem, which means none of you are getting off easy. To handle the pressure from above, your company decided to push all the responsibility onto us, expecting Yashi to take the fall. Do you think we’re fools? Let me be perfectly clear: you will help Yashi bear this responsibility. Otherwise, things will get ugly for everyone."
Lin Kuang stared coldly at the enraged Zhang Tian. He was no saint. Since the other side had played dirty, he had no problem dragging them into the mud with him.
Hearing Lin Kuang’s words, Zhang Tian finally understood. This "President Lin" was here to threaten him—to threaten all of Jiahua. Yet, faced with such a threat, he had no idea what to do. This involved all of Jiahua’s business in the East Sea. This is no small matter!
Watching Zhang Tian’s expression shift from pale to livid, Lin Kuang spoke again. "If you can’t make the decision, I don’t mind meeting with your boss. Manager Zhang, you and I are both just employees. There are some things you’d better think through very carefully." As he spoke, Lin Kuang watched him with an unreadable smile.
Zhang Tian’s face changed color again. Finally, he nodded in defeat. "Alright. Since you’ve put it that way, President Lin, please wait a moment. I’ll go inform President Li." With that, Zhang Tian turned and left the room.
"Is this really going to work?" Lin Guo’er couldn’t help but ask, standing beside Lin Kuang with worry in her beautiful eyes. "You know the ones against us are Chu Zhongtian, or possibly Ye Tiannan. Will Jiahua really let themselves be dragged into this with us?"
"Who knows?" Lin Kuang shrugged, a smile playing on his lips. "It’s worth a shot. If they don’t agree, we’ll just find another way."
