Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 123 Negotiations Between the Two
More than ten minutes later, Zhang Tian finally returned to the room where Lin Kuang was waiting. "President Lin, Manager Lin, please come with me," Zhang Tian said.
Lin Kuang nodded and followed Zhang Tian out with Lin Guo’er. The three of them went up to the sixteenth floor and arrived at the office of Huo Weihua, the president of Jiahua Company.
Zhang Tian knocked gently on the door.
"Come in."
A deep voice emanated from within the office. At the sound, Zhang Tian pushed the door open and entered, with Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er following closely behind him.
"President Huo, this is President Lin, and this is Manager Lin," Zhang Tian said, quickly making the introductions as he approached Huo Weihua’s desk.
Hearing this, Huo Weihua looked up, his gaze landing on Lin Kuang. Zhang Tian had already relayed everything that had just happened to him, which explained why he had taken so long to return.
While Huo Weihua was sizing up Lin Kuang, Lin Kuang was also assessing Huo Weihua. The man was in his forties, not yet fifty. His body was slightly stout, and his somewhat chubby face appeared genial. Yet, he exuded an aura of authority without anger—the telltale sign of someone long accustomed to a high position.
"Hello, President Huo," Lin Kuang said with a smile, extending his hand.
Huo Weihua extended his own hand, also smiling. "Hello, President Lin. Please, have a seat."
Lin Kuang made himself comfortable on a nearby sofa without ceremony, and Lin Guo’er sat quietly beside him.
Huo Weihua sat opposite them and asked with a smile, "President Lin, Manager Lin, what would you like to drink?"
"That won’t be necessary. Let’s get straight to business," Lin Kuang said, smiling as he looked at the man before him.
Huo Weihua nodded with a smile. "Zhang Tian, Secretary Xiaoyu, you two may leave."
Upon hearing this, Zhang Tian and Secretary Xiaoyu quickly exited the office.
"President Huo, Manager Zhang should have already informed you of the situation. What are your thoughts?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile.
"President Lin, what are *your* thoughts?" Huo Weihua replied with a slight smile, answering a question with a question.
"In any case, our Yashi Company’s lingerie was found to contain carcinogenic dyes. I believe this matter is inextricably linked to your company, wouldn’t you agree?" Lin Kuang asked, looking Huo Weihua directly in the eye with a smile.
"Hehe, President Lin, that was a truly clever move on your part," Huo Weihua said with a laugh. His small eyes remained calm, betraying no hint of emotion.
"Since you decided to cut off our path, anything we do in response is perfectly normal, isn’t it?" Lin Kuang replied, smiling again.
"Indeed. That makes sense, a great deal of sense," Huo Weihua responded with a chuckle.
"Then don’t you think it’s time for you to take a stand?" Lin Kuang asked coolly, observing Huo Weihua’s placid expression.
"Oh? And why should I take a stand?" Huo Weihua asked noncommittally.
Lin Kuang shrugged. "Take a stand. That is, if you don’t want Jiahua Company to be utterly destroyed."
At these words, Huo Weihua’s small eyes flickered, and a cold glint flashed through them for an instant. Though brief, Lin Kuang caught it clearly.
Leaning slightly forward, Huo Weihua spoke again. His calm eyes took on a sharp glint, and a subtle aura of pressure began to radiate from him. "Are you threatening me, President Lin?"
Facing the clearly angered man, Lin Kuang’s expression remained as calm as ever. "Since you put it that way, then yes. That’s exactly what I mean."
As he spoke, Lin Kuang smiled faintly. He reached for the lighter on the coffee table, held it in his hand, and crushed it to dust! Oddly, the lighter didn’t explode. Instead, it crumbled into powder in his hand. It was an electronic device.
The fine powder sifted from Lin Kuang’s palm onto the coffee table, and his expression grew several degrees colder. "If you’re going to record our conversation, President Huo, I suggest you use a more sophisticated method. This little trick is child’s play to me."
Seeing this, Huo Weihua’s expression changed for the first time, a flicker of apprehension flashing deep in his eyes. Lin Kuang had silently seen through his plot and destroyed the recording device. It was a clear warning for Huo Weihua to behave, a point that was not lost on him.
Now, however, Huo Weihua was internally weighing his options: should he help Lin Kuang and risk offending Chu Zhongtian?
Lin Kuang wasn’t in a hurry. He simply watched Huo Weihua quietly, confident that the man would make the correct choice.
After a full ten minutes, Huo Weihua finally spoke. "President Lin, if I don’t agree, what will you do?" As he spoke, Huo Weihua’s sharp eyes fixed on Lin Kuang.
Lin Kuang smiled faintly. "I’ll fill Jiahua’s production workshops with carcinogenic dyes. President Huo, believe me when I say I can do it."
At these words, Huo Weihua’s pupils contracted sharply. He then let out a bitter laugh. "Alright, I agree. I’ll resume supplying Yashi."
"No, no, that’s not enough. You also have to help me fend off Chu Zhongtian. I assume he’s the one behind this, correct?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile.
Huo Weihua didn’t deny it, simply nodding.
"Indeed he is. But, President Lin, you’re asking me to help you stand against Chu Zhongtian. Do you really think I have that kind of power?" Huo Weihua asked with a bitter smile.
"Of course. You’re not as simple as you appear on the surface. Besides, Jiahua Company’s influence in the East China region is quite significant, is it not?" Lin Kuang inquired with a grin.
Huo Weihua looked into Lin Kuang’s eyes, then nodded with another bitter smile. "I am very fortunate not to have become your enemy. I will do my best to help you deal with Chu Zhongtian, but you’ll have to handle things on the surface. After all, it’s not convenient for us to act openly."
"Excellent. Thank you, President Huo. As long as you assist me, I have my own ways of dealing with Chu Zhongtian," Lin Kuang said, standing up with a smile.
Hearing this, Huo Weihua could only nod with a wry smile.
"In that case, a pleasure doing business with you," Lin Kuang said, extending his hand once more.
Seeing this, Huo Weihua dared not show the slightest hesitation. He quickly extended his own hand and clasped Lin Kuang’s.
"A pleasure doing business with you," Huo Weihua said, his smile strained.
"Since that’s settled, I’ll take my leave. President Huo, I’ll have to treat you to tea sometime." With a slight smile, Lin Kuang turned and left, Lin Guo’er following him.
Watching Lin Kuang’s departing figure, Huo Weihua’s expression turned grave.
This Lin Kuang is truly something else! The real question is, just how many people has he killed to possess such terrifying Killing Intent?! Huo Weihua thought to himself.
Although Lin Kuang concealed his Killing Intent well, Huo Weihua was no ordinary man. He could sense it, and the more he sensed it, the more he understood just how terrifying it was—terrifying enough to make him feel a trace of fear.
If I offend Chu Zhongtian, my company loses some money at most. But if I offend this Lin Kuang, people could end up dead! Huo Weihua murmured, then picked up the phone to make arrangements.
