Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 121 Yashi in Crisis (Sixth Update!)
The three drove to the company and went straight upstairs. Lin Kuang followed Liu Shilin into her office.
Inside, Liu Shilin flipped through documents while Lin Kuang sat idly on the sofa.
Before ten o’clock, the company was calm, with nothing out of the ordinary. After ten, however, the storm hit.
Around ten-thirty, Lin Guo’er strode into Liu Shilin’s office, her voice tight with fury. "Shilin, we just got word. Starting today, our two major suppliers, Jiahua and Honglin, are refusing to provide us with any more fabric or underwear fasteners! At the same time, a random inspection by the Quality Supervision Bureau found that our Yashi undergarments contain decomposable aromatic amine dyes—a carcinogen! They’re demanding we pull all Yashi products from the shelves and cease sales immediately!"
Hearing this, Liu Shilin felt as if she had been struck by lightning. She froze in her chair, her pretty face turning deathly pale. A moment later, she was like an enraged lioness. Her pale complexion flushed a deep red, and her delicate body trembled uncontrollably.
"How could they do this? How could they?!" she seethed, slamming her hands on the table. "This is a blatant abuse of power!"
Liu Shilin wasn’t a fool. For this to happen so suddenly, someone had to be deliberately sabotaging them. Clearly, for large companies like Jiahua and Honglin to refuse supplies and for the Quality Supervision Bureau to get involved, the mastermind had to be either Chu Zhongtian or Ye Tiannan.
Seeing the enraged Liu Shilin, Lin Guo’er also looked grim. She knew this was undoubtedly the work of Chu Zhongtian or Ye Tiannan.
"How can these people be like this? How can they act with such impunity?!" Liu Shilin roared.
She never imagined her opponents would resort to such despicable tactics against Yashi. And these tactics were undoubtedly the most effective. Faced with a direct supply cutoff and "evidence" from the Quality Supervision Bureau, Liu Shilin had no way to fight back.
"Aren’t they worried about the breach of contract penalties?" Liu Shilin asked suddenly.
"They already said they’ll pay the penalty in full. We won’t be shorted a single cent," Lin Guo’er replied with a sense of helplessness. Although she desperately wanted to help, the Lin Family’s power was no match for Chu Zhongtian or Ye Tiannan. The Lin Family was wealthy, but they were ultimately merchants.
Hearing this, Liu Shilin’s face paled. She slumped powerlessly into her office chair, the light in her beautiful eyes dimming completely. Yashi was her creation, built from the ground up, and no one’s connection to it was deeper than hers. No one knew how much effort she had poured into Yashi to achieve its current success. Yet just as the company was getting on track—achieving a measure of success—this crippling blow struck, nearly shattering her spirit. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Looking at Liu Shilin’s lifeless eyes, Lin Kuang felt an inexplicable pang in his heart.
"Shilin, don’t worry. Yashi won’t be destroyed," he said, stepping forward and placing his hands on her shoulders with utmost seriousness. "Believe me. As long as I’m here, nothing will happen to Yashi!"
At his words, some of the light gradually returned to Liu Shilin’s dim eyes.
"Lin Kuang, you... you can really help Yashi get back on its feet?" she murmured, her eyes filling with anticipation and hope. At this moment, Lin Kuang was her last hope.
"Yes. Trust me," Lin Kuang said emphatically, his deep gaze filled with a confidence that stirred Liu Shilin’s heart. "I will not only get Yashi back on its feet, but I’ll also make it even stronger!"
Gazing into Lin Kuang’s incredibly confident eyes, the light in Liu Shilin’s own grew brighter and brighter. Finally, she let out a long sigh of relief and nodded heavily. "Alright. I believe you."
As she spoke, a relaxed smile touched her lips. At that moment, this powerful woman truly understood just how important a man’s shoulder to lean on could be.
Seeing her regain her composure, Lin Kuang felt a wave of relief as well.
"Shilin, you focus on things here. Guo’er and I are heading out for a bit," he said, gently patting her shoulder.
Liu Shilin nodded, her face flushing slightly. She had never been so close to a man in her life. The strong, masculine scent coming from him made her heart quicken, and an indescribable feeling began to blossom within her.
"Okay, be careful," she whispered.
Lin Kuang nodded and was about to leave with Lin Guo’er when Duoduo rushed in, completely flustered.
"This is terrible, Ms. Liu! There are a ton of reporters outside! They’re saying our company’s lingerie contains carcinogenic dyes, and they want to interview you," Duoduo said, panting as she tried to calm herself, her face pale with worry.
"They’re here already? They really want to drive us into the ground immediately!" Lin Kuang muttered, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
Liu Shilin took a deep breath. "Alright. Prepare for a press conference at eleven o’clock in the third-floor hall. Duoduo, go inform the reporters to wait."
"Okay, I’m on it," Duoduo agreed and hurried out of the office.
"Shilin, can you handle it?" Lin Guo’er asked with concern, knowing full well what a devastating blow this crisis was for her.
Liu Shilin smiled faintly. "Yes, I can. In business, you face both highs and lows. I believe I won’t be crushed by this setback. You have to believe in me too, Guo’er!"
Looking at her friend, Lin Guo’er was stunned for a moment before breaking into a charming smile. "Of course. How could I not believe in my dear little wifey?"
Liu Shilin shot her a peeved look. "I am not your wifey! Besides, you can’t get me pregnant!"
Lin Guo’er giggled. "That’s okay. Isn’t that what Lin Kuang is for? We can just have him do the work," she said teasingly, her gaze shifting suggestively between Liu Shilin and Lin Kuang.
At her words, Liu Shilin’s face flushed, and she glared at Lin Guo’er.
"Ahem. Shilin, you get back to work. Guo’er and I will head out now," Lin Kuang said awkwardly. "We’ll be back as soon as we can."
He turned and walked away. If he let Lin Guo’er keep talking, who knows what else she might say?
Lin Guo’er chuckled. "See, Shilin? Kuang is already getting protective of you," she said with a grin before turning to follow him out.
