With a frown, Zaroth woke up. By reflex, he slammed his fist into the nearby table, shattering it into chunks of wood.

"Again," he groaned, putting his hand over his head. Was it too much to ask for a single night where he doesn't have to be tormented by nightmares?

"I hope once I get rid of the Crimson Sun Empire, they will stop," convinced that this was his one and only salvation, he quickly dressed and went out, intending to take a stroll through the city's streets.

"Wow," once he exited out of the building, he was stunned by the sight. People were going from one direction to another with purpose. Most of them now wore the clothes he had pillaged from the city the other day.

What impressed him the most, however, was that there were a few buildings that already had been restored fully.

"And this happened while I was asleep?" he muttered, appreciating the beauty of the efficiency these people were working with.

Still lost in thought, he almost missed the greeting that the workers close to him were giving him,

"Good morning," they spoke with respect, bowing their heads.

'I don't know if Eldros is some kind of miracle worker or if these people—once slaves—are just naturally this driven. Either way, I need to praise him when I see him,' Zaroth thought.

He continued his walk, going towards the center of the city where Eldros and his helpers were most likely going to be.

Thanks to the long rest he had gotten, his head was pretty fresh, giving him an idea.

'This city is in safe hands for now, and the resources I gave them should last them some time. It will be wise to go and see how Midnight is doing,' Zaroth concluded.

He was about to go and inform Eldros until a tingling sensation spread around his body.

"Hm?" he mused at his body's reaction. For some reason, he was getting into battle mode, yet there was no enemy in sight.

'Luna, do you sense something amiss?' he asked.

'Hard to say when I am in your soul. Try summoning me,' she advised.

Following her suggestion, he did, making sure no one was looking at him. As soon as she materialized, she closed her eyes, focusing on her other senses.

"It's coming from there," after a few minutes of silence, she spoke up, pointing to a particular direction.

A frown appeared on Zaroth's face, "This is the direction of their capital. Have they sent somebody after us? Isn't it too soon?"

Not foolish enough to risk it, he went to get Eldros for extra assurance, and the three of them headed to where the energy was coming from.

"Why are we attacking so soon?! I don't see the point in sending so many of us!" a short man with black hair and a scythe resting on his shoulders complained.

"Orin, can't you act like a man for once?! We are going to battle. This is the way to grow stronger!" the tall man next to him replied.

Orin grimaced at the comment, "Oh please, Hector, for the last time, I don't need to get stronger! No one is equal to me or my powers!"

"God, this is why I hate to travel with men! You just can't stop arguing, can you?!" Silver shouted at the two, wondering why she had to go with these buffoons.

"You bitch!" Hector retorted in fury, "We are the ones that listened to you talk about your problematic love life for so long, and now you don't even let us voice our own opinions?!"

Silver's beauty disappeared in an instant as her expression became menacing, "Why don't you try insulting me again? Let's see how this ends up for you."

Puffing calmly on a long pipe, a woman with a large purple hat and breasts far too big to be hidden by her outfit spoke, "You two love birds can't keep quiet for a minute, can you?" This was Ashira, the oldest among the group.

Velastra, a woman with a red scarf wrapped around her neck and a bow on her back, nodded in agreement with the words.

"Whatever!" Hector and Silver spoke simultaneously as they looked to the other side.

Hector went back to bothering Orin, while Silver busied herself talking to Velastra, despite knowing she wouldn't respond.

Ashira shook her head, "These kids can never be quiet, can they?"

Their journey to the former slave city was nearing its end. They were here to eliminate Ghost—and had brought five council members just to make sure it happened.

"We've been spotted," Orin announced suddenly, stopping in his tracks.

In an instant, the chatter that was going on in their group died down.

Now that all of the council members were focusing, they could feel it too. They were being watched by one… no, by three individuals.

"Well, let's get this over with," Orin sighed, his eyes becoming menacingly dark. In an instant, he disappeared, becoming a shadow and shot forward.

"This idiot! We had a plan!" Ashira complained, grinding her teeth in frustration.

Hector couldn't help but scoff, "What a hypocrite. You say you don't want to fight, but once you see an enemy, you start to charge in blindly."

Slowly, black scales appeared around his body as his height grew even more, reaching three meters. There was no need to say anything—he went ahead as well.

Cracking her neck, Silver's eyes shined, "I still regret not defeating that girl who controlled water… So this time, I'm not holding back." The ground behind her froze solid as armor clad her body and a weapon of pure, deadly ice formed in her hand.

Maintaining a graceful appearance, she began to slide on the ice with a speed similar to an archer's arrow.

Seeing the way things were proceeding, Ashira sighed and exhaled a large smoke out of her mouth. The smoke began to change shape, becoming into creatures and weapons.

Velastra, keeping quiet as always, got the bow off her back and drew the string. Instantly, a bright blue arrow appeared ready to be fired.

The council members had arrived and were ready to take on Zaroth and his city.
