Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth-Chapter 1119: If We Don’t Get Married Soon, We’ll Really Be Old
Su Wanxin hung her head and chatted with Li Mo for a while. Fu Shihan, who was sent to the lounge, sat on the sofa and thought for a while, but couldn’t figure out what the two were talking about.
The only thing he could be sure of was that they definitely weren’t criticizing him; if Li Mo wanted to criticize him, she would always do it to his face. It also shouldn’t concern his company, otherwise, there was no reason for him to be asked to leave.
After pondering this way and that, and once Yangyang had fallen asleep on the bed, Fu Shihan got up, opened the door, and stepped out of the room. He looked at the two women still sitting by the desk and reminded them that it was getting quite late.
Su Wanxin had just finished printing the materials, and Li Mo had gotten the answer she wanted from her.
So, after casting a glance at Fu Shihan, she said to Su Wanxin, "I’ll head back first. Let me know when you have news."
Su Wanxin nodded and agreed, standing up to see her off. Fu Shihan listened to the conversation between the two, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.
Had they secretly reached some sort of agreement?
The two of them together saw Li Mo off. Upon returning, Fu Shihan couldn’t help but speculate and asked, "My mom isn’t planning to transfer her shares to you, is she?"
"Afraid I’ll steal your family’s assets?"
"Not quite that, I’m more worried you two will strike out on your own and steal my spotlight."
Fu Shihan joked teasingly, casually bringing it up. Su Wanxin listened, a subtle smile tugging at her lips, and she evasively changed the topic, urging him to wake Yangyang up as it was time to head home.
Having obtained the real internal data reports from the Fu Group and compared them with the ones previously received in the email, Su Wanxin was even more certain that this was something only a professional could accomplish.
Moreover, the truth and falsehood were mixed together. Without careful investigation and comparison, it was indeed difficult to detect the subtleties within.
"The mole in your company seemingly doesn’t just exist in the R&D department."
Back home, in the study room, after comparing the two sets of data, Su Wanxin frowned headache-inducingly and looked at Fu Shihan to remind him.
"All departments should be thoroughly investigated. When do you plan to take action?"
"Already started." Fu Shihan answered languidly while eating cherries. "I plan to wrap things up within a month; I have more important things to focus on."
Su Wanxin: "..."
A bunch of people were anxious and worried, but he alone was unhurried and relaxed—it was infuriating to watch.
"By the way, have you called Fu Shili these past two days?"
"Hmm, why?"
"Fu Shili said you helped him with something and he wants to invite you for a meal to express his thanks."
"I helped him?" Su Wanxin seriously recalled, "Helped him with what?"
"How should I know? I was about to ask you. But judging by his tone, he seemed quite happy. I wonder what good thing it could be."
These days, Fu Shili had been busy with tasks assigned by Fu Shihan. Now that those tasks were mostly complete, they just waited for the next move from Trojan to counterattack.
Fu Shihan got up and pulled Su Wanxin to the bedroom to rest. With the lights off, lying in bed, he suddenly asked, "How about getting married before May 1st next year?"
The abruptness of his question left Su Wanxin stunned for a moment before she collected her thoughts.
"Why bring this up all of a sudden?" Su Wanxin slightly furrowed her brows, involuntarily recalling the question Li Mo asked her at the company.
"Sudden?" Fu Shihan thought seriously. "Su Wanxin, I’m now at an age where I get called ’uncle’ when I go out. If I don’t get married soon, I’ll really be old."
Hearing his words half-joking, half-serious, Su Wanxin fell silent for a moment before softly agreeing.
"Alright, it’s up to you."
