Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 582 - 277: Dreamland Royal Court and Mirror World
"So, you’re now a Divine Descendant with the bloodline of the Dream Realm God?" Simon asked, looking at Alka.
Alka, seated at the head of the conference table, nodded. He had just shared some of his recent changes with everyone.
"What does a half-real, half-dream bloodline mean?" Matilda asked curiously.
She could understand hybridization between different races, but this variation—one half reality, the other a change in bloodline—was something she truly couldn’t grasp. It didn’t sound as simple as conventional mixed bloodlines.
Hearing this, Alka couldn’t help but think carefully; he hadn’t considered it from this perspective before.
He pondered for a moment and said, "Physically, there aren’t many obvious changes. The transformations are more pronounced in the spirit and soul. These changes affect the Magic Power pathways and endow the body with some special abilities."
Upon hearing Alka’s explanation, Matilda seemed to understand and nodded. This was clearly different from typical mixed bloodlines. Calling it a mixed bloodline might not be entirely accurate, but it was an easier way to grasp the concept.
Suddenly, Chadite nudged Jason, who was feeding minerals to the Crystal Dragon, with her elbow.
Feeling the nudge, Jason turned to look at Chadite. The creature on Chadite’s shoulder jumped onto Jason and whispered something quietly in his ear, then sneakily returned to Chadite’s shoulder.
Having heard this, Jason’s eyes widened as he looked at Chadite, as if seeing her in a new light.
Meeting his gaze, Chadite looked a bit embarrassed but still shot Jason a fierce glare. The meaning in her eyes was clear and filled with violent aggression. Jason had no choice but to silently turn his head away, submitting to Chadite’s violent threat.
Listening to the others’ conversation, one of them found an opportune moment and asked Alka, "What’s the significant difference between your kind of bloodline and races like Merfolk and Fishmen?"
"The difference should be quite significant, right? After all, half of it doesn’t even belong to reality anymore," Matilda commented from the side. Based on the changes she had just inquired about, the gap between Alka and normal people now might be even greater than the distance between Fishmen and humans, even though, essentially, both were ordinary people altered by Magic Power.
Jason seemed to understand and nodded, then curiously asked, "Is there reproductive isolation with normal people?"
The entire conference room suddenly fell into an inexplicable silence. It seemed like an unimportant question, yet somehow, it was very important. Descendants and heritage are things from which Intelligent Life can never escape. The thought made everyone fall inexplicably silent.
Upon hearing this question, Alka was first puzzled, then he furrowed his brow and began to think. For others, it might just be curiosity, but for him, personally, this question was indeed very important.
Right. If only half of me is real, is there reproductive isolation?
He inadvertently glanced at Chadite, but she seemed to be looking elsewhere, not at him.
"There... shouldn’t be, right?" Alka said, somewhat unsure. After all, the physical aspect was real; it was primarily the spirit and Energy that leaned towards the Dream Realm. He couldn’t say he was now half reality and half Dream Realm. Rather, his reality was overlaid with components of the Dream Realm. Though chaotic and strange, that seemed to be the case. Besides, this was the Magic World, not his former one, so it couldn’t be judged by ordinary logic.
"Speaking of which, do you have reproductive isolation with normal people?" Alka asked the ocean trio.
Upon hearing this question, Matilda blushed; she had never considered this issue.
Instead, Julia shook her head. "Not really. In the tribe I used to live with, there were half-Merfolk, half-human hybrids."
Then the probability of him having reproductive isolation was even smaller. He relaxed inexplicably. It seemed he wasn’t the only one who felt relieved.
Eventually, everyone chatted for a while longer. Alka also learned about the changes in the sky that occurred when he fused with the Divine Fragment in the Dream Realm. He committed this information to memory, his Heart Eye taking note of its significance. Afterwards, everyone returned to their respective rooms to rest.
As for their course, they had no specific destination. They sailed aimlessly on the ocean, which, according to what they learned on Southern Cross Island, was the primary method of navigation unless one already had a target. Such aimless navigation, it was said, would guide you toward the path of destiny. Although it sounded mysterious, nearly all locals of the Endless Sea navigated this way. The fact that these people put it into practice and the method endured suggested it might indeed be effective.
Returning to his room, Alka lay on his bed. Although he wasn’t sleepy at all and felt quite energetic, he still immersed himself in his own Dream Realm.
He needed to fully understand the changes this brought and familiarize himself with his new powers. The first of these was "Royal Authority."
The power of Royal Authority wasn’t aimed at his personal Dream Realm but was a kind of power, or rather a privilege, over the entire Dream World. After feeling the full extent of this power and gaining some understanding, Alka flew directly out of his own Dream Bubbles. This was the first time he had left his Dream Bubbles after mastering Royal Authority and becoming a Divine Descendant.
