Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 256: The Meeting In Helheim [ 20 ]
"This monocle? Hmm? Well, I don’t really remember how it got here," Ren admitted.
He stepped forward and picked up the monocle, then put it over his eye. Afterwards, he shook his head.
"I can tell that it has a bunch of energy in it, but I’m not really sure what the purpose of it is. If anything, it’s just a trash item that must’ve gotten mixed up with the rest of the artifacts and charms."
Trash?
Well....
I didn’t think of it as trash.
Just because he didn’t know what it was, I was positive that there was someone who had purposefully placed this monocle here in the first place.
For that reason, and because I had nothing else I urgently wanted, I decided to just smile and reach for the monocle. Once I put it over my right eye, I nodded at him.
"This’ll do just fine."
Ren’s brow twitched.
"I feel bad giving you something like that. Would you think of me as a good teacher if I gave you something useless?"
I shrugged.
"It’s fine."
"Mm~ If you say so. In that case, are you sure you want to take that monocle away?"
"I’m sure."
With that, he stopped pestering me and finally snapped his fingers. In the next instant, every single item in the treasury that I saw vanished as though there was nothing there in the first place. Though, from the faint traces of energy, I knew he had somehow stored all those items inside his dimensional ring.
Maybe he had some kind of ability that helped him do so?
Either way...
"Ren, is that really all you wanted from me?" I asked.
"Wary because the meeting was so short, and I’d given you a chance to get something overpowered?" he replied.
I tilted my head slightly.
"Yes... I don’t understand why you’d do any of it, especially when you know where my loyalty lies."
Ren let out a chuckle. "And I already told you what I thought about your loyalty. Not only that, you are heavily undermining your importance due to your flawed perspective. So stop pestering me about these simple things, and listen."
All of a sudden, his expression turned serious.
"Once you and the other saviors go on the raid, I want you to not show even a hint of hesitation, and make sure to stand out. There’ll be a meeting in a week where we’ll be deciding who’s the leader of all the saviors, and since I had personally taken you in, I want you to be the person that leads the others."
And he was calling me selfish.
Well, I might as well reciprocate since I’m here.
"But aren’t I the weakest savior of them all? It’s not like you trained me either. How am I supposed to stand out the most out of all of them?"
He raised a brow. "The weakest? Maybe when you first stepped in. However, after whatever you did, I’m sure with enough practice, you’d be able to go toe to toe against Wilhelm, and that should tell you a lot considering he’s on the verge of becoming a Demon Emperor like me."
My eyes widened for a brief moment at his sudden evaluation of my power. Maybe I actually did get that strong, but still...
"Raw power is still just raw power. Can’t you teach me something?"
Ren grumbled slightly. "Teach you what, exactly? You already know how to mask your energy, and you also learned a bunch from Alexius. The only things I could teach you in this short period of time might just be Gift Manipulation."
"That’s fine," I insisted.
After all, learning something as basic as Gift Manipulation from a Grade 80-90 being was the biggest boon I could ever get in here, especially since he’s so open to sharing.
"Ugh, fine. In that case, I’ll have to take you to my personal quarters. Wait here for a sec, I’ll be right back."
Ren stepped out of the treasury, and I could hear that he was arguing with Wilhelm and Alexius. Though, I just patiently waited without saying anything.
But the moment I turned away and blinked, my right eye abruptly popped, leaving me startled as blood began pouring down my cheeks and creating a puddle on the ground.
Not realizing what was going on, I tried to scoop up the blood with my energy, only to fail miserably as I wasn’t used to controlling it this way. So instead of scooping it up, I accidentally excavated a giant chunk of marble from the ground.
And once I tried to fix it, all I did was make it worse as the chunk of marble burst through the ground and fell into the kitchen down below, startling one of the Demon Duke chefs who was boiling some pasta.
As the Demon Duke’s and my eyes locked, I simply gulped, scooped up the chunk of marble from the kitchen, and after very roughly patching it up, I realized that the blood had mixed so well into the marble that I’d only be able to get it out if I used Atomic Telekinesis.
But knowing how messed up my control was at the moment, I would probably accidentally delete a chunk of the palace instead.
So I decided to just accept it and allow the blood to continue dripping from my eye until finally, I stopped bleeding. I felt a little lightheaded, and not to mention, my ears still rang the same as before. But because of my extremely fast regeneration, my eye began to grow back.
Yet for some reason, the vision in my right eye was slightly different. Everything seemed slightly off, as if the whole room was distorted. Though, when I blinked, all those distortions vanished, replaced by a blanket of powerful crimson energy all over the room.
It reminded me of my Mystic Eyes at first, except when I accidentally focused on that crimson energy, it began flowing directly into my right eye. Pain shot throughout my eye as energy pathways were forcibly created, allowing the energy to flow freely into my heart.
And once the energy entered my heart, it was absorbed into my Mind Realm, filtered, and then assimilated with the rest of my energy. Once it split evenly across all three of my Gifts’ energies, I felt my overall energy increase by a very small amount.
Not only that, when I glanced to the side, I saw something I wasn’t expecting to see.
