Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 248: The Meeting In Helheim [ 12 ]
...What?
"Right, he should be here. Let’s see..."
Wilhelm closed his eyes, and after a brief pause, reopened them.
"Alright, he’s coming."
He’s not talking about Alexius, is he?
The moment I had that thought, the door swung open, and to my surprise, Alexius stepped inside. He had a deep scar across his left eye now, but despite that, he didn’t seem to hold a grudge against me.
Instead, he simply walked over to Wilhelm, who then directed him to Ren. Once he arrived beside Ren, he bowed slightly.
"I’ve arrived at your call, Your Highness."
"Come on, Alexius. We’ve known each other for a decade now. I told you to call me by name."
"Very well, Ren. You’ve called me here to showcase Divine Energy?"
Ren shook his head.
"I asked you to come so you could trigger the latent Divine Energy inside Amon’s body. You told Wilhelm, and Wilhelm told me that you felt it once you two clashed, correct?"
Alexius nodded, and so Ren continued:
"Alright. In that case, Amon, what do you say to that proposal?"
I narrowed my eyes.
"Alexius and I fought each other to the death not even a week ago. Why would I trust myself to him?"
"Because I’m here," Ren said.
Then, he tapped on the table once. In the next instant, Alexius’s body folded and he fell to the ground, his bones creaking and breaking under the pressure.
"And if I’m here, then that means your safety is guaranteed."
With another tap on the table, he released Alexius. Despite the embarrassment and clear disregard for his existence, Alexius’s lack of emotions didn’t even allow him to hold a grudge. If anything, he just waited for his bones to heal, and then finally, he stood up.
After turning toward me, he just waited for my confirmation.
And honestly, as much as I wanted to hold off on this and learn how to use Divine Energy later on, I also felt like this was too good of an opportunity to pass up. After all, Alexius already knew what he was doing.
With the added ’safety’ of the Demon Emperor, I knew that Alexius couldn’t pull a fast one on me either. In short, it was an opportunity to get a free power-up... with the only downside being that I’ll draw even more attention to myself.
But so what?
The amount of attention I had already was too much.
So with that in mind...
"Alright. I agree."
"Excellent! In that case, would you mind standing up and coming here?"
At Ren’s words, I did just that. Yet when I stood up and stood beside Wilhelm, only then did the other retainers notice that something was wrong.
All of them stared at the top of my head.
They had already given their diamond crowns to their successors.
But I didn’t have one.
And since it was very likely that they had already decided on doing it, there was a very, very low chance that Wilhelm would ever go back on something like that, especially since I’m a big fish.
So by that logic, they knew that he not only failed, but I also knew how their succession rituals worked.
That automatically put a much higher target on my head, and judging by how much attention Ren was actually paying to me, I’d guess he was the first to notice.
Despite that, I approached Alexius and Ren. Once I was beside them, Ren pulled a chair out of his dimensional ring and set it down beside himself. He then gestured for me to sit down, so I did.
As for Alexius, he was forced to stand.
"To what degree are you able to control Divine Energy?" Alexius asked.
"None. I can only interact with it when someone else uses it," I replied.
He nodded.
"Then, what was your first encounter with Divine Energy?"
I paused for a moment, thinking of how to respond. Telling him the first time I encountered it was when I freed a Divine Beast would probably be a little suicidal, especially since Alexius has some kind of contract with a Divine Beast as well.
The last thing I wanted was for that shitty Divine Beast to be a smooth talker and turn every single other Divine Beast against humanity.
So instead...
"I first encountered it when Clementine and I came back to Aldraazan, during that encounter with you where you tried to attack her and I cancelled your attack."
"He’s a very bad liar," Kai chimed in.
"It doesn’t matter. Trivial questions shall remain trivial, in the sense that they serve to do nothing but give away personal information," Ren said.
Then, he smiled at me.
"Answer only the important questions."
I simply shrugged and glanced back at Alexius, who was ready with the next question.
"Do you know where your Divine Energy is located?"
"Nope."
"Very well, then that’ll be the first thing I show you."
He approached me and placed his finger on my forehead. In an instant, I felt a soothing sensation surround my head.
"Have you ever done visualization? Rather, I believe they refer to it as picturization nowadays."
"When I was training swordsmanship, yeah," I replied.
I had to imagine myself doing something to trigger Sword Intent, then automate it with Sword Heart. Basically, I knew how it worked.
And that seemed to be enough, as Alexius simply said:
"In that case, have you ever given that imaginary realm any color? Have you ever looked at it as more than just a simple placeholder for your mind?"
"...?"
"No?"
I didn’t even know you could do that.
"Try it now. Picture yourself in that realm and try interacting with it."
For a moment, I thought he was joking, but once I realized how no one else reacted to his words... I felt like I was the only person who didn’t know something like this.
But then again, it was never mentioned in the game, so why would I even need to know?
Well...
Kevin didn’t really have Divine Energy, I guess.
Anyhow, since he had given me some instructions, I put aside my suspicions and decided to try it out.
