Chapter 58: It Wasn’t An Accident

Abigail didn’t know what kind of magic was done to her. When she saw Nicholas speaking those words, her body reacted before she could even think about it and she quickly entered the car before her husband drove the car out of that place.

Only when the car started driving did she return to her senses and realize what she had done.

Oh no! Wasn’t she about to find a bridge to jump off?!

How come she managed to enter Nicholas’s car with two snaps of his fingers?!

Abigail quickly turned to her husband and said, "Stop the car!"

Nicholas pretended he didn’t hear her. His first priority was to send her to the hospital and get her body checked up. Only then will his anger die only slightly.

So he continued driving. Not only that, he also drove faster.

But he knew Abigail would probably make trouble again if he didn’t stop. Thus, he took the car to a stop and untied his tie.

At first, Abigail tilted her head and looked at her husband strangely. She sniffed, lowering her head.

She also realized that she didn’t feel that terrible anymore ever since Nicholas arrived. Of course, there was a slight trace of depression, but it wasn’t as strong as before. Even though her mind continued to churn up thoughts about how she didn’t deserve anything and how she should have died, there was a spark of warmth that appeared in her heart all of a sudden, making her see a little light in the dark.

Honestly, if she could explain, she was sure this was what felt like whenever she had her antidepressants during these phases. Of course, she wouldn’t feel this kind of warmth, but her negative thoughts wouldn’t affect her anymore.

So... Nicholas was her walking medicine now?!

As Abigail was sitting there quietly, she suddenly felt someone grabbing her hand and tying something around her wrist. She raised her head with her eyes widened.

"What are you doing?!"

Her voice wasn’t as excited anymore as it would be in her mania period. She was genuinely angry as an ordinary person would. That kind of tone surprised Nicholas, but he didn’t take it seriously as he said, "You need to go to the hospital."

His words were small and sleek, determining that he wouldn’t back out no matter what. If she dared to kick him, even her legs would be tied up as he would throw her body in the backseat.

Thinking about it, he quickly tied up the seat belt around her, fixing her tied up hand inside the belt. He was finally satisfied as he turned on the engine and drove toward his destination.

Since Asher couldn’t do his job properly, it wouldn’t be any good if he continued to depend on his cousin. He had to take care of this lady despite his indifference.

In his heart, he had already determined that he couldn’t let her die. Why? He still didn’t know why he was suddenly so obsessed with keeping Abigail alive.

He shook off those thoughts and continued driving.

Abigail looked at the man not speaking a single word as her mood plummeted once again. Her heart sank as she turned away and looked outside the window, staring silently into the view.

Sure enough. Her decision to get out of this damned world was right. She shouldn’t continue to stay here and be treated like sh*t by this man.

Of course, she knew she needed to be hospitalized, but why would she even get treated when she wanted to die in the first place? It was merely a waste of time.

Maybe she would return to her lonely life away from these characters in this illusory world of hers. That would be better. At least, she would be surrounded by real people whom she could trust.

Here, despite knowing how a few people cared about her, it was impossible to let her guard down completely, at least when she was in between her depression and mania states.

For the past few days, Abigail wasn’t normal, and she knew that she would again turn abnormal after a few days. In that phase, she had already decided to stay here and became even more excited to live in a world she created.

But the ’woken-up’ Abigail knew it was a useless thought.

She wouldn’t be fooled again by her mind anymore.

She took a deep breath as her determination to get out of this damned illusion, or whatever this world was, heightened. Since right now she couldn’t get out of this car, she wouldn’t act.

Let Nicholas take her to the hospital. Only then would she act and get out of this world once and for all!

Yes, this was what an ordinary person would do. After returning, she would first delete her entire book!

On the other side, Nicholas felt weird after seeing his wife sitting there so silently. These few days after getting contractually married, his world had turned upside down to the point he never got a second of peace. And it was all because of the mess this woman created.

She would always be extremely excited and even insane when creating trouble, not remaining silent for even a moment. Such a woman managed to listen to him?

Nicholas’s eyes narrowed for a moment.

The duo reached the hospital in no time, and he got out of the car. Until the end, he didn’t intend to remove the tie, and even after that, he would stay vigilant because he knew this wife of his was more cunning than a fox.

So when he opened the door, he untied his wife and grabbed her wrist, dragging the woman behind him. Despite his anger and frustrations that he felt when he bumped into Abigail, his pace still remained slow.

Thankfully, at this hour, the hospital was empty. So he quickly did the registration and took her to the examination room, forcibly getting Abigail to sit on the chair.

Then he turned toward the doctor. "She’s injured." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

The doctor looked at the woman’s terrible condition and frowned. He wrote down something and asked, "How did she fall?"

It was at this time did Nicholas realize he had forgotten to ask this woman the very important question. Of course, not that it mattered how she got injured because with the power of money, he knew he could pay the doctor up for the treatment.

So he said instantly, "Just treat her. She had an accident on the road."

The doctor got up and looked at the wound on her waist with a torch. He could see fresh blood still sticking to her robes as he got up and shook his head.

"It wasn’t an ordinary accident." He sighed and sat back. "It seems this young lady jumped into some kind of body of water and was struck by a blunt object."
