Chapter 290: Chapter 290: The Dads’ Collective Appearance

Recalling the heartwarming memories, the smile on Naomi Kenway’s face grew wider. Ian was infected by her mood, his round little face breaking into a grin as well.

Naomi Kenway subconsciously gave his soft cheek a gentle pinch. It felt as wonderfully soft as always.

"I feel like the greatest reward from being on this show has been pure joy. Being able to watch my son change and grow makes me so happy. It’s an indescribable feeling, mixed with a little bit of pride." Naomi Kenway’s gaze softened. "I hope my son can always be happy and grow up without a care in the world." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Without any prompting from the host, Ian had already wrapped his arms around Naomi Kenway’s neck, planting several sweet, soft kisses on her. "Ian hopes Mommy can be happy and safe, and live a long, long life..."

Naomi Kenway’s cheek tickled, but she didn’t stop him, a blissful smile on her face.

Margaret Jennings was highly empathetic and already tearing up at the sight. Carina Sanders handed her a handkerchief. "Don’t be sad, Mommy."

"I’m not sad. I’m just moved..."

[SOB SOB SOB, this is so moving! Why is the production team suddenly making me cry!]

[You can literally see how much the relationships between the guests and their kids have changed over these past four-plus months. I hope things just keep getting better and better for all of them!]

[Can we just get Renee Jennings off the screen? I have to change the channel whenever it’s her segment.]

[Nina and Ian’s affection is so mutual. Ian, you have to be good to your mom when you grow up. You can feel how much she really loves you.]

[Wow, has it really been that long already? Thank you to the production team for giving us such a great show...]

[I really didn’t expect Simon to act like that today. But when you think about it, it makes sense. He’s just a kid in elementary school. No matter how mature and composed he seems, he’s still a child who depends on his parents.]

...

The host sighed emotionally. "Listening to all of you, I’m truly moved. I hope every one of our children grows up healthy, and I hope our mothers can also live fulfilling, happy lives. Over these past episodes, it’s not just our production team that has witnessed so many wonderful moments, but also our audience and..."

He paused, then smiled. "I’m sure the fathers have all been watching closely, too. Now that we’re halfway through filming the season, our production team has prepared a special surprise..."

He extended his arms in a welcoming gesture, his voice laced with amusement. "And now, let’s invite our special guests to enter!"

The guests exchanged confused glances, wondering what kind of "special surprise" the production team had in store.

A man slowly walked in from outside, carrying a huge suitcase. He looked to be in his forties, with a rugged, bearded face, but he wore a hearty smile and seemed very approachable.

The keys in Ruby Preston’s hand clattered to the floor. She stood up in disbelief and walked forward with Simon Sawyer. "Seth..."

This was Ruby Preston’s husband, Seth Sawyer, a renowned photographer in the industry.

Watching the heartwarming family reunion, the host smiled. "Mr. Sawyer is our first special guest for this episode. Welcome."

Seth Sawyer smiled and nodded in acknowledgment before sitting down with Ruby Preston. A staff member brought over an extra chair.

Chelsea Raines was still processing the surprise. "The special guest is Ruby Preston’s husband? Wait, he’s the *first* one, so there’s a second?"

No sooner had she spoken than another man appeared, also carrying a suitcase. He wore a crisp suit and was strikingly handsome. Well-maintained, his face showed few signs of age, making him look five or six years younger than he was. He wore a constant smile, as gentle and refined as his on-screen persona. He stepped forward and shook the director’s hand first. "Hello, I’m Nathaniel Lynch."

Nathaniel Lynch was a household name, a hugely famous Best Actor. Although the director had never worked with him, they had met a few times at banquets. "Hello, Best Actor Lynch. Welcome..."

"Oh, no," Nathaniel Lynch said, waving his hand dismissively. "Please, don’t. You’re my senior in age. How could I let a senior like you call me Best Actor? Just call me Nathaniel, it’s more personable."

Who could dislike such a humble attitude? The director certainly couldn’t, and he nodded in quick succession.

Renee Jennings was so emotional she was on the verge of tears. She hadn’t expected Nathaniel Lynch to come for her. She ran straight to him and threw herself into his arms. "Nathaniel, you’re finally here..."

Nathaniel Lynch positioned himself for the cameras and gently stroked her hair. "I’m here now, you should be happy. Look at you crying. If you keep this up, you’ll break my heart."

He took out a handkerchief and gently dabbed the tears from the corners of Renee Jennings’ eyes.

Renee Jennings was a mess of tears and laughter, her feelings of grievance and frustration finally easing. It was as if she had at last found a great tree to shelter under, someone to lean on.

With one arm around Renee Jennings’ waist, Nathaniel Lynch walked over, nodding to the other guests. His gaze fell on Nathan Lynch, who remained seated and motionless. Nathaniel’s smile froze for a second before he regained control. "Nathan, are you so happy to see your dad that you’re stunned speechless?"

He gave Nathan Lynch’s hair a doting ruffle. "Has it only been a few days? It feels like our Nathan has already gotten so much taller..."

Nathan Lynch stared at him, feeling as though he were looking at a complete stranger. ’His own father was an irritable man, quick to yell and shout. But the man standing before him now wore only a gentle, doting smile, as if Nathan were his most cherished son.’

Stunned, Nathan Lynch forgot to speak. He stared at Nathaniel Lynch as if he were looking at someone else entirely.

’Was this really his father? Which one was the real one?’

Nathaniel Lynch seemed completely unfazed by Nathan Lynch’s cold shoulder. Maintaining his good-natured facade, he sat down next to his son and began doting on Renee Jennings.

[Best Actor Lynch is as handsome as ever. He just has terrible taste in women. After being betrayed by his first wife, he goes and marries Renee Jennings.]

[This family is certainly nice to look at.]

[Best Actor Lynch, I’m a huge fan! I love your movies. I’ve seen every single one at least three times. Your acting is just incredible!]

[They seem so in love. It would be even better if they were a little nicer to Nathan.]

[Best Actor Lynch, it seems like you really love your son, so how have you not noticed this whole time that Renee Jennings treats Nathan poorly? I’m begging you, stop focusing on your romantic dates and showing off your love, and take a look at your poor son, will you?]

[They say when you get a stepmom, you get a stepdad too. Maybe Nathaniel Lynch is on Renee Jennings’ side!]

[Say what you want, but Renee Jennings and Nathaniel Lynch seem to have a genuinely good relationship. Their feelings haven’t faded after all this time. They’re all over each other like a couple of teenagers.]

...

The third guest soon walked in through the door, also carrying a suitcase.
