Myriad Devils-Chapter 338: This is a situation of suffering from success
All eyes shifted away from Rolan, landing on a slouching, overly casual realm father.
The elders nodded their heads knowingly. They had only recently mentioned that Skar should challenge the Fiend Soul Desert, but Lord Mar had summoned them at that moment, and they could not get an answer from Skar.
Now, no matter his wishes, he would need to attempt to acquire this piece. Well, it wasn’t as if he was against the idea anyway.
More importantly, given the current situation, the other great forces would never guess their true purposes.
After all, if Skar had gone to challenge the Fiend Soul Desert under normal circumstances, then his purpose may have been exposed.
It wouldn’t have changed much; however, in this situation, the great forces would never expect it.
If he were to return from the Fiend Soul Desert with that "unretrievable" core piece, the effect would be ten times greater, which would dramatically boost Sky Drifting Mountain’s image, making the status of the Sky Drifting Mountain in the second layer elevate even more than they initially predicted.
If all things went well, heh. Elder Ronan couldn’t hold in his smile.
Speaking of the Fiend Soul Desert, after ten million miles, the Savage Statues would begin showcasing tenfold power.
Once Skar was protected before this, and he did not exert himself, it would vastly improve his chances.
Though otherworldly creatures had infinite energy, in a battle of life and death, there were still things like mental exhaustion and straining the soul.
As these thoughts seeped into his mind, elder Ronan’s expressions suddenly changed.
As if a fog had lifted from his mind, clearing his thoughts, he finally saw the expressions of the geniuses as they shifted their gazes toward Skar.
How could he forget?!
Everyone of the geniuses sighed. They hadn’t doubted the elder’s decision or Skar’s strength.
At least, their helpless sigh appeared quicker than any doubt could appear in their mind.
Ronan’s expression darkened, and he glanced at his nephew as he asked, "Skar, do you understand the purpose behind their objectives?"
He pointed at the ranked geniuses as he asked.
Skar stared into elder Ronan’s eyes.
However, he remained silent.
He was not ignoring him.
No, no.
The ranked geniuses showed helpless expressions.
The elders sighed in dismay.
It was happening already.
Skar’s eyes were half open as he stared directly into Ronan’s eyes; nevertheless, his mind was clearly somewhere else.
He listened without listening.
It wasn’t that he was dumb, naturally not.
However, this was a situation of ’suffering from success.’
Especially now, when he had gotten all excited thinking about challenging the "unretrievable" nature of the unretrievable core piece in the Fiend Soul Desert.
"It seems he’s entered that state already."
"It’s said that his mastery of the Staff pathway is so extraordinary that it resulted in him injuring his willpower in the Supreme realm." One of the realm fathers whispered to Fierceness.
Although he could’ve obscured his voice in cosmic mysteries, he hadn’t done it, so everyone could easily hear.
However, another whisper followed.
"I heard that it’s due to the killing intent in the Divine Battle Art he practices. Apparently, even as a realm father, he’s mastered the Fourth rank."
"But the Fourth rank is meant for Entry-Level creatures, so when he attempted to cross two gaps in status and began training for the Fifth rank, he suffered an injury to his soul."
"I think that’s why he favors his Basic Supreme Armament, Heaven Suppressing Pillar, instead of his Divine Battle Art."
"Whether it’s his mastery of the Staff pathway, or it’s actually his ability to comprehend the Fifth rank of a Divine Battle Art, if even one of these is true, doesn’t this mean that he’s surpassed Realm Father Elshen in these aspects?!"
As this whisper entered and traversed the sacred hall, there was a momentary silence before many whispers broke out, and the geniuses all threw in their own theories.
Even the elders were secretly communicating with each other.
In fact, with one slam, elder Ronan could easily suppress these whispers, but this was not a bad thing.
After all, it just went to show how brilliant his nephew was.
Until now, he hadn’t heard anything that denounced this fact. The consensus was, he, Skar, was too good for his own good.
As his uncle, elder Ronan felt gratified. The pride of an Earth Elf coursed through his unfathomable soul.
This was one of the inherent aspects of the Earth Elf and Sun Elf lineages.
Only after a while did elder Ronan finally suppress his smile and slam his palm on the round table.
His lips were continuously twitching, as if he was furious; however, he was really only trying to prevent himself from breaking out into a broad grin.
He stared at Fierceness, who hadn’t partaken in the whispers, and he nodded his head approvingly, "Fierceness, you’ll take charge of this operation."
"I will give you all a day of preparation before you’re to set out. Fierceness, just remember, no matter what opposition he may give you, Skar isn’t to join the battle."
Fierceness felt an intense wave of frustration unfurl in his head at elder Ronan’s words. He lamented inwardly, ’Why did I have to open my mouth and question the elder?’
He thought that Ronan purposely gave him this headache of a task because he had voiced his doubts early.
However, even though he thought like this, he still nodded his head.
He had a solemn expression as he said, "Fierceness has received the elder’s command. If nothing else, we will put our lives on the line to make certain that Skar doesn’t exert an ounce of strength before ten million miles."
Upon saying this, elder Ronan signaled to the ranked geniuses.
The emergency meeting had come to an end, so many of them slowly disappeared from view. However, Skar was still observing his uncle with a languid gaze, his eyes half open.
The elders sighed at this, but Ronan smiled lightly and signaled to them as well.
Dismissed, the elders eagerly left the sacred hall as if they had urgent matters to attend to.
At a moment’s notice, the only two individuals were uncle and nephew.
Ronan approached Skar and drew back his hand.
Thereafter...
Boom...!!
He slapped the living daylights out of Skar.
