The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 253: MV Audition
Renee Jennings scoffed at his ideas. The only reason she’d fought tooth and nail to get into the entertainment industry was for money and status—something that old fossil Nathaniel would never understand.
This time, she had entered the event with Clementine Coleman.
She didn’t know anyone around her, so she could only stick close to Clementine Coleman. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make more connections.
A flash of green caught her eye. Renee Jennings looked closer and saw it was indeed the Lynch Family’s eldest sister-in-law, Lucy Summers. ’That makes sense,’ she thought. ’Of course she wouldn’t miss such an important occasion.’
Renee Jennings swirled the wine in her glass and lifted her chin proudly.
Lucy Summers had been unwilling to bring her to the banquet, but in the end, she had made it here on her own merit.
Not far away, Lucy Summers suddenly hurried toward someone. The person had a slender figure and a cloud of beautiful, wavy hair, and they seemed indifferent to Lucy Summers’s eager attitude.
Renee Jennings froze. She rubbed her eyes.
’Why does that person’s back look so much like Naomi Kenway?’
Renee Jennings took another sip of wine. ’Since when did my alcohol tolerance get this bad?’
Renee Jennings let out a hoarse laugh at herself.
"What’s wrong? Rachel, did you hear what I just said?" Clementine Coleman asked, then urged, "A friend is looking for me. Are you going to wait for me here, or...?"
Renee Jennings smiled. "I don’t know anyone here. It’s safest for me to stick with you."
Clementine Coleman said, "Okay."
Before leaving, Renee Jennings glanced again in Lucy Summers’s direction, but Lucy was long gone, along with the "mysterious woman" whose back resembled Naomi Kenway’s.
She turned her head away, silently blaming herself for overthinking it.
’Naomi Kenway’s family is rich, sure, but the Warren Family’s influence in Veridia is not to be underestimated. Everyone attending this birthday banquet is from Veridia’s most prominent and noble families. Given Naomi Kenway’s nouveau riche behavior, there’s no way she could ever get past the door.’
Clementine Coleman absolutely loved the signed photo. Feeling indebted to Renee Jennings, she spent the entire banquet helping her network and make introductions.

Naomi Kenway received a message from Laura Grant, who asked her to come to the company.
Laura Grant rarely summoned her unless it was for something extremely important. Naomi Kenway didn’t dare to delay. After she finished filming, she had her family’s driver take her to Interplay Entertainment. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
While waiting for the elevator, Naomi Kenway happened to arrive at the same time as Renee Jennings. Their destination was the same: the tenth floor.
The two stood in silence; Naomi Kenway really couldn’t be bothered to waste words on Renee Jennings. They were the only two in the elevator. Perhaps because she no longer had to worry about what others thought, Renee Jennings didn’t try to cozy up to Naomi as she had before, instead maintaining a cold, arrogant demeanor.
DING. The tenth floor.
Renee Jennings was the first to step out of the elevator, her white stiletto heels making a CLACKING sound on the tiled floor.
Naomi Kenway followed her out. When she looked up, she saw Renee Jennings carrying the latest designer bag, a custom-made watch on her wrist, her hips swaying gracefully as she walked.
Naomi Kenway averted her gaze. ’Looks like she’s been living quite comfortably lately.’

Naomi Kenway knocked on the door.
"Come in."
Naomi Kenway walked in.
Laura Grant looked up and saw her, a smile spreading across her face. She casually took off her glasses and rubbed the bridge of her nose. "Here, Nicole, have a seat."
Naomi Kenway sat down across from her. "I was wondering, Lily, is there something important you called me here for?"
Laura Grant nodded. "Yes, there is. It’s important. There’s good news and bad news."
"How so?"
Laura Grant took a sip of the coffee on her desk, cleared her throat, and asked, "Have you heard of Rhys Quinn?"
Naomi Kenway was taken aback.
Rhys Quinn. Now that was a name that rang through the entertainment industry like thunder.
Rhys Quinn was the hottest singer-songwriter of the moment. He wrote the lyrics and music for all of his songs himself and shot to fame after appearing on a talent show. In the three years since his debut, he had swept major music awards both at home and abroad—a true musical genius with immense international recognition.
On top of that, his exceptionally handsome looks had earned him a massive fanbase, making him a top-tier celebrity. Unlike other artists who diversified, Rhys Quinn had never accepted offers to venture into other fields despite his immense popularity, always remaining singularly focused on his music.
Naomi Kenway shook her head and chuckled. "If I didn’t even know who Rhys Quinn was, I’d truly be behind the times."
Laura Grant smiled. "The news I have for you is about him. Rhys Quinn is shooting a music video for his new song, and they’re holding a nationwide open casting call for the female lead. Luckily for you, Rhys Quinn’s manager really admires you and sent over a special invitation. As you know, his songs are incredibly popular, and he has a loyal fanbase overseas as well. This could be a chance to get some international exposure. What do you think?"
"It’s definitely a great opportunity. But you just said there was good news and bad news. So, what’s the ’bad’ part?"
Laura Grant’s expression turned more serious. "We know this is a great opportunity, but so does every other artist. It’ll be very difficult to secure the role. Furthermore... Rhys Quinn is known for being reclusive and having a strange temper. A lot of artists who have worked with him have complained about his poor personality."
"His personality doesn’t matter," Naomi Kenway said. "And I don’t mind the competition. Great opportunities are always in high demand. All in all, this is a good thing."
"You have a great attitude." Laura Grant smiled, then added, "There isn’t much time before the open audition. It’s a tight schedule, so you should prepare well over the next few days. I have a friend who happens to work on Rhys Quinn’s team, and she mentioned that this MV will heavily test dancing skills."
"Dancing?" For some reason, Naomi Kenway’s expression changed slightly. "I might... I’m not very good at it."
"Don’t sell yourself short. I saw you dance on that variety show." Laura Grant thought back for a moment, then smiled. "I’m not exactly an artist, so I don’t know the professional terms to describe your dancing, but... hmm... you seemed to move so freely. I couldn’t help but keep my eyes on you."
Naomi Kenway was taken aback, then said, "Thank you."
"Don’t thank me. I’m telling the truth."
Laura Grant said, "I’ve already contacted a teacher for you. Go take lessons in your free time. As the saying goes, a last-minute polish is better than no polish at all."

After finishing a day of filming, Naomi Kenway first stretched languidly, then took the water bottle her assistant handed her and tilted her head back to take a few gulps.
Ruby Preston walked over with a smile, patting Naomi Kenway’s shoulder. "Nicole, your acting is getting more and more refined. I have a feeling this movie of ours will be a huge hit, and you’re definitely going to become famous. The audience isn’t blind; great acting always gets recognized."
Naomi Kenway subconsciously pictured the scene and smiled. "I hope your words come true."
