The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 95: Ch : Uninvited Guests- Part 4
"Tsk, hurry up and keep up with me, will you? How can anyone take you seriously when you are giving off such a poor performance?"
Kesha spoke rudely for the fifth time in under 10 minutes. She was trying her hardest to make herself unlikeable.
I was good at ignoring her bullshit and pretending I had not heard her. But the same could not be said for Kuro, who looked like he was about to burst.
"Kesha, you should not speak in that tone. Otherwise, you will offend someone you cannot afford to offend."
Rhiner told the ranked #10 hunter, and she looked angry at him.
"As if you have any right to tell me anything. You are not even at my level. How about you do that first before lecturing me about what is right or wrong?"
The female hunter told Rhiner outright, and he just sighed once more.
"That has nothing to do with anything, Kesha, and you know it as well. Do you truly want to make more enemies—"
Rhiner asked just as I stopped. That caused the others to stop as well, and Kesha let her displeasure be known quite loudly.
"Huh! Why did you stop? Are you already tired, old man? Should I carry you from here—"
"Shhh—! I can hear someone fighting not too far away. We should go and check out what is happening."
I told them all, and Kesha suddenly shut her mouth. She likely had not sensed the fighting since she was so focused on getting to Lynn.
Not that I blamed her. I found her single focus a little charming and something to admire about.
"I will scout what is happening. You all should remain on high alert as well. We have no idea what these monsters are capable of."
I told the people around me before I called for my familiar once more. Unlike the other ones, this one was special and had a squarish design compared to my other jellyfish.
I connected my senses to it and allowed it to go ahead. And I saw Lee Minho and Edward fighting monsters together.
The sheer number of monsters seemed to be making them struggle, and I immediately narrowed down the location where they were currently at.
"I found Lee Minho and Edward. Follow me. We might need to help them out soon."
I told the people following me, and we hurried toward the site of the fight.
"Tsk—! How dare you pests try and fight against us. Don’t you know who we are—"
Kesha asked as she tried hitting a nearby monster with her mace. Her mace was covered in her aura, but it did nothing when it hit the nearest monster.
"H-How is that possible—"
The sight of her attack doing nothing caused Kesha to look shocked, and she watched with wide eyes as the monster pushed her back into the tree.
"Ugh—"
A pained voice left Kesha’s lips, and she watched with wide eyes as the monster headed toward her to finish the job.
Before the monster could hurt her, ropes bound the monster and pulled it back.
"Minho, now—"
Edward called out, and earth shattered underneath the monster’s feet to drag it down. The monster struggled, and Lee Minho had a hard time containing it.
"Kesha, what are you doing—? Hurry up and run. I won’t be able to hold the monster back for much longer."
Minho told her, and Kesha followed his orders.
I watched it all happen not too far away from the fight, but I found no time to intervene. I did not want to accidentally break the rhythm these people had.
Kesha managed to get away just as the monster managed to break free of Edward’s ropes.
"Tsk, what an annoyance. To think that it’s even giving me, the former no. #2 of the hunters’ rankings, such a hard time."
Edward sighed as he blocked the next attack of the monsters. It was 1 vs 3 now, and their side was still losing.
"Ace, what should we—"
Rhiner asked, but I was already on the task. My familiar got close to the monster, and before the monster realized, a high-voltage shock went through its body.
"W-Who... Ace...?"
Lee Minho noticed me, and I nodded back at him.
"Hurry up and attack the monster’s heart while it cannot move. If I attack now, then I might hit you all as well."
I warned the hunters, and they snapped out of their daze quickly before Edward’s sword dug into the monster’s heart, and it died at his feet.
The smaller monsters were easier to take care of...
No... rather, they all ran away as soon as I arrived, and the fight came to an end.
"W-We were saved. Ace, thank you so much. I had no idea such a dangerous monster existed. Thankfully, it’s dead now..."
Lee Minho relaxed as he clutched his injured arm. Relief filled his face as he allowed himself to calm down.
But Edward was the one who broke the calm atmosphere around everyone.
"That was not the boss... or the dungeon would have collapsed by now. That elite monster... was special, but I don’t think it was the only one. Will we truly be fine in this dungeon?"
He asked, and the reality of the situation came crashing down on everyone. They all suddenly realized that this dungeon was likely too much for them. They had never been in such great danger before.
I felt a little bad for them all.
Unlike me, none of these people seemed to have faced any truly dangerous monsters. So they were all unprepared to fight them.
So I made a decision.
"You all should head back outside for now. You all would just be a liability at this point. I will find a way to deal with this dungeon myself. As for Lynn... I will find and send him back out soon as well."
I told the hunters, and they all looked ready to argue.
Kesha had an especially sour expression on her face as she looked in my direction.
"Tsk, who do you think you are to tell me that? You might be the current no. #1 hunter, but that does not mean you have the right to tell me what to do. There cannot be that much difference between your power and mine—"
The female spoke, but her legs almost gave out as soon as she stood up.
She was only speaking so much nonsense because she could not smell the danger around us.
But just because she could not smell the sudden appearance of dangerous pheromones around us did not mean her body was not aware of them.
The fact that she collapsed meant that she had some idea regarding what was going on.
"H-Huh—! Are these... pheromones? I... I suddenly cannot breathe..."
Rhiner complained as he clutched his throat and collapsed. He was not the only one, and others fell one by one.
Even Kesha, who could not sense these pheromones, felt her body collapse.
In the end, only I and Kuro were able to keep themselves conscious, but Kuro looked uncomfortable as well.
"Kuro, do you know what—"
I tried to speak, but a fog covered my senses, and a hand grabbed my shoulder before pulling me into an embrace.
