Chapter 100: Ch 100: A Special Guest- Part 4

"Hurry, this way. I can sense the exit gate. It’s not too far away."

I yelled at Kuro, who was following me at a moderate pace. The poor monster was huffing as tiredness began to settle in.

"I-I am trying to follow you, but it’s not easy."

Kuro complained. Unlike me, he did not have enough power to recover, and I felt frustrated. But then, I knew what I could do.

"Turn into a cat. I will carry you out of here."

I told Kuro, and he looked surprised. But he wasted no time giving me any bullshit reason why he should not do that and turned into a cat.

I grabbed him in my arms and ran toward the exit.

A lot of monsters noticed me running past them, but they had no time to stop me. They were all busy trying to run away before the dungeon’s collapse as well.

The exit shook as I approached it, and I managed to barely get out before the whole dungeon collapsed behind me. Kuro let out a yelp in my arms before he shivered.

I just felt bad for Kuro this whole time, so I hid him deeper in my arms. But then I noticed that people were starting to head toward me, so I used my powers to mask my presence for now and let Kuro go.

"You should go and hide for now. I will meet you once I am done dealing with these people."

I told Kuro, and once again, there was no protest as he quickly ran away as per my instructions. I straightened my back and went to meet the media and other hunters.

"Hunter Ace, you cleared the dungeon. How do you feel—"

"What about your ties to the association? Are you going to say anything?"

"You look different compared to how you looked a few days ago. Do you have any comment to make?"

The reporters kept asking me, but I knew that if I were to give them even a little inch, they would take a mile and cause me trouble. So I was not going to risk such a thing.

I pretended I did not hear them and headed toward the place where Lynn and the others were lying unconscious.

The healer who was working on them looked tired, but I could vaguely sense the fresh omega pheromones as well as strong powers.

"How are they doing?"

I asked the healer, and she looked startled to see me. But then her eyes went wide as soon as she saw me, and she stood up with a nervousness in her step that I seldom saw these days.

"H-Hunter A-Ace... it’s nice to meet y-you. A-About treatment... they should be fine. I did not find anything life-threatening... I-I am doing my best. I am Iris Jones, the current rank #7 hunter."

The female introduced herself with a flushed face, and I gave her a nod of acknowledgment.

’Hmm, an S-class omega hunter, huh? This is my first time meeting her.’

The girl looked like a good person, and she was young as well. Her healing felt soothing and strong as well.

Once she was done with the others, she decided to take a look at me as well. But her flushed face remained in front of my eyes the whole time.

"Hey, are you alright? You can take some rest if all this is too much for you."

I told the girl, and she looked away immediately.

"T-That is not what I... no... I can handle all this. I just... give me a moment."

The female took a deep breath to calm herself down. The closer she was to me, the more nervous she seemed to become.

Before any more awkwardness could be addressed, Lynn stirred, and the others began to wake up as well. We all turned our attention toward that side.

"Ugh, where am I... what about the dungeon—fuck..."

Lynn tried to get up but let out a groan of pain. The female healer immediately went to his side and helped him sit up.

"Please do not move around as you please, or you will feel dizzy. The excessive pheromones from the dungeon are still in your system. If you are not careful, then they can cause you extreme discomfort and pain."

The female told the rank #2 hunter, and Lynn sighed in agitation. He did not look happy to hear what the healer had to say to him.

"Tsk, I see. Thank you for telling me about this, Iris. You can work on the others now. I can take care of myself."

Lynn assured as he pushed himself to sit back up. But his eyes looked anything but happy to do that.

Iris tried to protest, but then she decided that following Lynn’s orders was better for her mental and physical health.

"Alright, I understand. Please take care of yourself, and I will check up on you soon. I will... take my leave now."

The female spoke, but she kept looking back at Lynn once in a while. But Lynn pretended he did not see her gaze and instead turned to look at me.

"So, what happened in the dungeon? All I remember was passing out and then... that monster. What the heck was she? I have never seen anything like her before."

Lynn asked, likely recalling the high priestess when he spoke.

Out of all the monsters in the dungeon, the high priestess surely had been a threat they could not ignore.

But for some reason, I did not want to share what I knew about her and the dungeons with others just yet. So I told Lynn to relax.

"Just rest for now and don’t think about it. I will tell you and the other hunters all about it once it’s time. Until then, you should focus on your recovery..."

"Don’t treat us like we are breakable tools you need to protect. The hunters with you in the past might have been weak, but we are not—"

"Take that back if you value your life. My companions were not weak."

I felt my temper snap at those words.

I could take anything that was said about myself, but I was very sensitive about what people said about my companions. And it was true even now.

Lynn looked taken aback by my actions, and he opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out.

Finally, he gathered himself and decided to apologize.

"I... sorry, that was not what I meant to say to you. I think I am just a little stressed out and would like to go back to sleep."

Lynn told me with a flushed face. Before I could say anything, he turned away from me, and I felt annoyed.

’Tsk, what am I feeling annoyed for? Anyway, now is not the time for me to be getting distracted. I need to head back now.’

I turned toward the healer, who had a flush on her face.

"Please keep me updated on their conditions with the help of the community tab. I will look forward to your posts."

I told the female healer, and she blushed before she nodded.

"O-Of course... I will keep you posted about it. Please don’t worry about it at all."
