The Royal Mark-Chapter 321: Suffer for Eternity
The day of Chris and Elsa’s coronation has arrived and at the same time, the plan to embark on a journey to wake up the sleeping divine mages was already in place.
"Are you excited for today’s coronation, My Queen?" Rylie asked Elsa as she helped her fix her hair for the said event.
"No, I am not. This coronation is just for formality as we all know it. Rather than excited, I am nervous about the expedition after the coronation. I haven’t really climbed a mountain before so I am afraid to be a burden to everyone," Elsa replied.
However, the truth is, that she’s more anxious about something else and not really about how she will be able to climb that mountain, since she may not.
*Knock*
Their attention shifted to the door that was already open and they saw Arla peeked. "May I come in?"
Elsa smiled a bit and said, "Of course, you can. Come join us."
"Drake sent me here to check on you. The throne hall is ready and is full of people, even the castle ground is already crowded. Lexi and Hoven did a great job in preparing for this day. Too bad there’s no celebration afterward," Arla said with sadness in her eyes.
"I know. The citizens are eager and excited to see their prince but they have to wait for that. I promise to bring him back safe and sound," Elsa uttered.
"Rylie, could you and Kaizer place the mental cuffs that I asked the blacksmith to make in the balcony and throne room? I just want to make sure," Elsa added.
"Alright, My Queen. I will do it now, I am done with my masterpiece and she looks stunning," Rylie beamed and glanced at the mirror looking at Elsa before leaving the room.
Arla waited for Rylie to leave and questioned Elsa, "What are the metal cuffs for?"
"It’s the full moon later. Chris is still not free of the hecatolite’s effect and I fear that his wolf will act out tonight. It’s just a precaution."
"I see... If you’re ready, shall we go? I am tasked to escort you as your female family member," Arla smiled and extended her hand to Elsa.
She gladly took her hand and headed toward the waiting room beside the throne room where Chris and Hoven were waiting for them.
**********
The coronation ceremony in the throne room took only a few minutes since Chris made it clear to the priestess and elders to make it quick since they had to leave and head to the White Shadow Mountain as soon as the coronation was done.
Only members of the council, heads of the noble families, Arcanis’ Alphas, His Majesty’s Elite Alphas, and Elsa’s mages were allowed to enter the throne room to witness the coronation. But before can they go, they must do one more thing and that is to make a speech for their people.
The trumpets and drums roared in the castle ground, indicating the arrival of the new King and Queen of Arcanis.
It was Hoven who appeared first on the balcony to present their new leaders. "Citizens of Arcanis; King Christopher Jorgensen and Queen Elsa Jorgensen!"
Everyone cheered and shouted their support and approval. The news of their prince’s abduction was not a secret to them and everyone was angered by that incident so every werewolf in the kingdom wanted revenge, and even pledged their support to join the attack against Kurzen.
"Citizens of Arcanis," Chris began. "Allow us first to show our gratitude to all of you for expressing your support against our fight with the abductors of your prince, our future king, my only heir. And because of that, there will be no celebration today.
We are against time and we will do our best to retrieve our prince back. Kurzen’s act is not only against me and my family but also against our kingdom and our ally, Zemaria! We will not stop hunting the demons one by one until get our prince back!"
The crowd cheered and some of the mothers and fathers even shed tears for the baby prince, understanding what their king and queen must be going through right now.
While watching their people express their support for them, Elsa felt a burst of pain coming from Chris and he suddenly blocked her from their bond, causing her to worry.
"Chris, what’s happening?" Elsa whispered, but Hoven and Lexi heard it.
Hoven acted swiftly and made a closing remark while Lexi escorted their King and Queen out of the balcony.
"I’m ok," Chris uttered while limping.
"You are not ok!" Elsa grabbed his arm and placed it around her shoulder.
Lexi did the same on his other arm and said, "Let’s bring him to your room."
Before they could step forward, Hoven and Tallor took over and carried their king to his chamber.
They walked so fast that Elsa had a hard time catching up. She ran as fast as she could until she reached the stairs leading to the wing where their room was located. She was panting hard and had to stop to catch her breath. She saw Rylie and Arla walking in her direction.
"I’m ok, please check on Chris," she ordered and the two nodded and left.
"My Queen! My Queen!" a servant called.
Elsa was still panting hard and could not speak, so she just gestured for the servant to come closer.
"This letter just came in and it includes a pouch," the servant said as he handed over the purple scroll and pouch.
She already knew to whom it was from since it was the same scroll that she received before.
"Thank you, you may go."
When the servant left, she quickly looked around to see if someone was there and after seeing that she was alone, she immediately read the scroll.
"My Beloved Elsa,
Here’s a gift for your coronation. Use it well for it will only work for a week... Yes, you thought right. It’s a temporary cure for your soon-to-be ex-husband. Although, I have the permanent cure here, inject this to the King of Arcanis, complimentary of the late Witch Queen.
I was the one who gave her the hecatolite and ordered her to plant it inside your mongrel husband and it will be up to you if you want to make him suffer for eternity or finally cure him. Of course, it would not be free if you decided to free him from the pain and stop his wolf from dying.
You know what payment I am asking. You have a week to decide. I’ll be waiting... 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Yours truly,
Your future husband,
King Mordrak Baelzor"
