I Merged with a Forbidden SSS-Rank Nanosuit After Being Abandoned-Chapter 93 - Run To The Titan-class Ship
A bright golden light radiated from the lance, blinding those around it.
’That was the distraction I needed,’ Zion thought, locking eyes with the commander.
The commander instantly noticed, his face turning pale.
"Fuck!" he shouted, loading his shoulder weapons again. "Don’t lose your focus, everyone!"
But it was already too late.
The group that had surrounded Zion fell into complete disarray—some focused on Koru, unleashing high-energy fire at him, while others turned back and opened fire on Zion.
Zion simply spun his lance around him, the golden energy tearing through anything that came at him.
As the first volley of bullets ended, he pulled his arm back as far as possible, smiling at the commander.
"Shields!!!" the commander shouted desperately.
The two shield bearers instantly stepped in front of him, gritting their teeth as they prepared. At the same time, the commander released a bright yellow energy beam from behind them.
Zion didn’t pay any attention to it. He took a step forward and tossed his lance toward them with all his strength.
The lance soared through the sky, blinding everyone as it split apart the yellow energy beam and released an even brighter golden light.
It reached the shield bearers in an instant, sucking their bodies in and devouring them whole.
This time, there wasn’t even any blood left behind.
The commander desperately tried to jump out of its path, but it was useless.
He let out a ghastly scream as he was pulled in by the lance.
Each of the mercenaries fighting Zion fell completely silent, staring at him with horrified expressions.
’How many is that now?’ he thought, kicking off toward his lance. ’I’ve killed six... and Koru already took care of two?’
As he followed the massive trench his lance had left behind, he briefly glanced behind him.
There, a shouting mercenary was lifted into the air by a stone giant.
In an instant, his body was pulled in two halves, raining blood and organs onto the ground.
’Scratch that,’ Zion thought, raising an eyebrow. ’It seems like he’s already killed three.’
Reaching his lance, he quickly dissolved it back into his body and turned around.
Zion quickly closed the distance with one of the mercenaries firing at Koru, a blade pushing through his knuckles once again.
Before the C-rank even noticed, the blade had already been placed against his external armor.
"What the—" he barely managed to glance behind him with wide eyes.
Just then, Zion’s blade pushed the energy inside the armor away.
He pushed once again, the blade penetrating deep into the mercenary’s brain.
’That makes half of them,’ he thought, narrowing his eyes.
The remaining mercenaries no longer seemed confident, some already slowly sneaking away from the battlefield.
But it hadn’t been without damage. The wounds on his arms and legs stung, and even Koru seemed to be missing chunks of stone here and there from the continuous gunfire.
[Host,] Uriel’s voice suddenly rang out. [You have twenty-five percent energy left.]
[And there are seventy D-ranks approaching the battlefield.]
Zion’s expression darkened slightly as he dodged an energy bullet.
’I can kill these C-ranks,’ he thought. ’But all those D-ranks?’
That was too much, even working together with Koru.
Zion scanned the battlefield for a split second, his mind racing. Finally, his eyes landed on the Titan-class ship.
’If we kill a few more and force the rest to keep their distance... could we make it to the ship?’
It didn’t seem impossible. But he had no idea if someone stronger was still onboard.
He gritted his teeth, tearing his gaze away from the ship as he jumped back to avoid a missile explosion.
"Fuck it," he muttered, lowering his stance.
There were two C-ranks standing in his path if he wanted to reach Koru. One was firing bullets at him, while the other seemed focused on launching some kind of rope toward Koru.
Zion dashed forward without hesitation, rapidly closing in on the first C-rank—a middle-aged man who was clearly afraid.
"Pasc!" he shouted, backing away. "Trap here!"
The other mercenary spun around, reaching for an item bound to his belt.
Just as Zion was about to reach them, a triangle-shaped object landed in front of him. Thin metal wires exploded outward in an instant.
Zion barely jumped off the ground, cursing as he landed in front of the first mercenary.
He slashed his blade, beheading him in a single motion, then took another step forward, slicing through the second mercenary’s torso.
"Koru!" Zion shouted, sliding to a halt in front of the stone giant.
For a moment, Koru swung his massive claws toward him.
Then he pulled back.
"Zion?" he asked, confused.
Just then, another energy shot struck his shoulder, sending cracks spreading as a stone the size of two footballs broke off.
"Ugh," Koru grunted, instantly turning around.
But the mercenaries had already retreated dozens of feet away, maintaining continuous fire.
"Let’s go, Koru!" Zion shouted.
All the remaining C-ranks had practically split up, relying solely on their guns, while the legion of D-ranks closed in fast.
Koru turned again, the stone on his shoulder slowly regrowing.
"We’ll run toward that ship!" Zion continued, pointing at the Titan-class ship. "Ignore everything that isn’t in your path!"
Koru’s eyes narrowed. He nodded—then suddenly swung his arm toward Zion.
"What?" Zion let out.
Before he could react, Koru lifted him off the ground and placed him on his shoulder.
"You are slow," Koru said. Then he took off toward the ship at full speed.
Zion’s focus snapped back as he blocked an energy bullet with the scales on his forearms.
Soon, the legion of D-ranks came into view, each carrying special, extremely expensive weapons.
"What now?" Koru asked, still closing the distance.
"Just keep running," Zion said through gritted teeth. "But be ready for flight and a rough landing."
"What?" Koru asked, confusion written across his face.
A large chunk of metal tore itself free from Zion’s back, splitting into two pieces behind him.
The D-ranks noticed them, lining up with their weapons aimed forward.
"They’re the targets!" one of them shouted. "Fire!"
Koru raised his arms, shielding both his face and Zion as dozens of bullets slammed into him while he kept running.
Just as they reached the front line of the D-ranks, Zion’s voice rang out—
"Jump!"
