Chapter 322: Better Solution

Elsa crumpled the scroll in anger and disgust. She wanted to scream in desperation because the pain that she felt from Chris was no joke that’s why he decided to block her to not let her suffer too.

But as much as she wanted to throw away the potion, she couldn’t, at least not yet. She then quickly untied the pouch and checked what was in it. She smelled the liquid inside the glass cylinder and didn’t smell anything suspicious but she couldn’t give it to Chris without checking first.

After breathing deeply, she climbed the stairs and looked for Rylie and Arla. "Girls, please check this potion for me. Make sure it doesn’t have anything poisonous for a werewolf. If it’s all clear give it back to me as soon as you’re done."

"Where did you get this?" Arla retorted.

"Long story, I’ll tell you later. Now go!"

Arla and Rylie both nodded and hurriedly went out of the room. Elsa turned her attention back to the room and scanned for Chris. Her breath seemed like it was caught in her throat after finding Chris on their bed and the metals she enchanted with spells were already attached to her arms and legs.

"We have to use it..." Kaizer commented.

"I know... Thank you..." Elsa moved forward and stood beside Hoven who was staring at Chris who was already sleeping.

"Lexi injected the medicine that you instructed to give him if this happens. He was out of control earlier so we had to do it," Hoven said with a hint of regret.

"I understand..." Elsa was at a loss. She pitied her husband, she wanted to scream, cry, and let her rage out. She was full of anger but she just didn’t have the energy for all of it.

She has to decide what to do. Even though the sleeping divine mages are within their reach, they still need Rocco to find them and wake them up. But how could they do it if he is held hostage by the demon king?

Those mages are their only hope in defeating King Mordrak, she alone is no match to him. There’s no time for her to train and learn offensive divine magic. They must get Rocco now and wake those mages up.

"You can all leave, the tranquilizer you gave him is quite strong. He will not wake up until tomorrow. I’m sorry but we cannot start the expedition tonight. Please make the necessary arrangements and adjustments," Elsa commanded.

"Yes, Luna. Please don’t worry about the kingdom for now. We will take care of everything. Just focus on the king and don’t hesitate to order us if you need anything," Hoven said sincerely before leaving.

Elsa waited for everyone to leave their room since all her mages and Chris’ elite alphas were there. As soon as they closed the door, her tears fell without changing her expression while standing in front of Chris staring at him. She was exhausted from everything that was happening to her ever since she arrived in Vectus.

Her heart was wounded and her soul was crushed. It was a never-ending suffering for her and for her family.

’I might be cursed...’ she thought. ’If I am, I won’t drag my family down with me. I shouldn’t have been born. I am the living proof of my parents’ sin. The child who sealed the doomed fate of a Seraphim and the last bloodline of the divine mages. My birth disrupted everyone’s lives. This is all my fault.’

Elsa wiped her tears and lay beside Chris. She rested her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

’Are you there Yakobo?’ she tried to reach out through their bond but it was silent.

’If you can hear me, I promise you, I won’t let you die. Just hang in there. The cure is on the way. I won’t let Chris lose you...’ she added and soon dozed off.

[I know, but you don’t have to, Chris would live without me, but he can’t live without you. I can’t live without my mate too. I’d rather die than see you go.] Yakobo answered weakly before falling unconscious once more.

**********

It was already morning when Rylie and Arla finished checking the potion with the help of the other mages. They tried their best to inspect it, even had a servant who volunteered to test it with the help of Lexi just to make sure that it had no poison.

When nothing bad happens to the servant, they quickly go to the King’s chamber and wake Elsa up.

"My Queen," Rylie called, "We are done, and we even tested it on a werewolf who volunteered. He was ok, we didn’t find anything poisonous or toxic in the potion. You can give it to the King."

Elsa was still half asleep and only heard Rylie’s go signal to give it to Chris. "Thank you. Get me a syringe. I have to inject this into him for it to work properly."

Rylie hurriedly fetched the syringe that was asked of her while Elsa got up and prepared Chris’ arm.

But Arla grabbed her wrist and asked, "Are you sure about this? You’re not the one who created that potion right? Where did you get it?" Arla couldn’t help herself but ask all the questions that were bothering her.

Elsa stared at Arla with her tired eyes and sighed, "I won’t do anything that would kill my husband. But right now I am desperate and I would do anything to save my family. So please step aside unless you have a better solution than mine."

Arla pressed her lips tight, stopping herself from saying more for she could clearly see the pain of Elsa through her eyes and let go of her arms.

"Thank you..." Elsa weakly uttered before wiping Chris’ arm with some alcohol that she made and a clean cloth.

After Rylie handed her the syringe, she swiftly injected Chris with the potion. They all watched keenly, observing the changes that would happen to him.
