The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 318: A moment of weakness- II
"Close the curtains." He ordered. "Now, Genevive"
Flinching at his loud voice, I moved into the action. Click covering the distance between me and the window, I closed the curtains by dragging them together. Once they were closed and darkness around in the room, I felt the cloth
They were thicker than usual. They allowed no light to penetrate through them.
When I heard footsteps, I let it go and turned back to find Tristan right in front of me.
"What happened to you?" I asked, intruder by his sudden disappearance into the corner of the room. "Was it caused by the sunlight?"
If he said yes, then the rumour was true. They really did not move in the sunlight and That had been proven in front of my eyes.
"We don’t do well in sunlight." He answered dryly. "And I’m not wearing my ring." His eyes moved behind me and to the curtain for a brief second before he looked at me again.
Tristan took a step closer and I took one back, making me touch the clothes of the curtain. "I do not know if you have done this or on purpose or not, Genevive. But by the looks of it, the execution has to be postponed."
I did not plan on doing this. I planned on stopping it all together, not delaying it for another night but I kept silent.
He stepped back and then to the side. He pointed his hand towards the door, "please retire to your bedroom."
I took a few seconds before doing as he said. He had kissed me, very deeply and intimately, and now he was telling me to walk out of his bedroom?
Shaking my head at him in disgust, I walked out of the room before closing the door behind me with a loud bang.
His aunt Chiara was standing outside the door but I paid her no mind and walked past her and Anna.
How dare he cast me aside after doing something so intimate with me?! I closed the door to my room and this time even locked it from inside by slipping the key that was inside with me in the room and placed an additional panel of food in between the two handles.
"You locked the both of us together, Genevive."
With a startled jump, I turned around only to find Marilyn standing in front of a sofa with her hands folded in front of her.
I scoffed, fresh anger in my mind did not help this conversation. "If you jump from the window, Maryln, I think you will be safe and sound. So why don’t you find yourself in the gardens directly?"
Merilyn gasped in shock before cupping her mouth. "I understand that I am blessed with strength now. But that is a very mean thing to say, Princess."
I scoffed, "Mean? What do you know about that, Merelyn? Mean was letting me think that you were dead, mourn our death and drown myself in the guilt that I was the reason because of which you were hanged!"
"It was not like I had planned for that to happen." Marilyn shrieked back. "Had it not been for Alan, I would have been dead!" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"Because of me?" I asked, straight to the point. "You would have been that because of me, say it."
"What?!" She gasped, outraged. " You and I both know that I would lay down my life for you. Not because I was told to do it at an early age, but because I love you enough to do it, Genevive!"
"But I did not want you to do that. I wanted you to listen to me. I never wanted you to lose your life because of me, especially when you are married to someone you love when I was hunted down like an animal I wanted to kill. You should have never died!" I screamed into her face, not even knowing how I got so close to her.
"I will do that again if it means saving you." She whispered the words slowly, letting every word sink in. "What are you going to do about it? Because you can never stop me from protecting you."
I scoffed, shaking my head, disagreeing with her without anyways. That was wrong. She should have never given her life for me. No one should do something for me.
"What happened?" She whispered, placing her hands over my shoulders gently.
I did not know how and when my anger turned into frustration and that frustration came outside of me in the form of crying.
"I.." I hiccupped, unable to stop myself from crying.
"Tell me," she urged.
And I did. I told her exactly what happened with Tristan.
"He did not!" She roared, outrageous by what he had done. "How dare he ask you to leave after kissing you?!"
"He did," I cried pathetically, "He so did!"
"I cannot believe that he did that. He knows this is unforgettable. All of them do, so I wonder why he would do that." She tsked before pulling my head to her chest with more force that necessary. "Don’t you worry, princess. We will punish him for this. How dare he treat you like a common whore?"
I sniffed, cries were going to come again.
"You must punish him." Chaira said from behind us. "I might have let the arrogance of being a king get to his head. This behaviour will not be accepted. He must respect his benefit."
I narrowed my eyes and hurt her. "Where did you come in from and how?" Because the door was still lot and the panel of food was still between the handles.
"Irrelevant." She waved her hand and came to sit on the sofa next to Marilyn and me.
"Now," folded her hands on her lap before giving me a pointed look, "You and I are going to talk about a lot of things. Take a seat on the sofa. This will be taking a very long time."
