Chapter 285: The bleeding man - II

"Them?" Dorothy whispered to me, holding my hand with a tight grip almost making me wince in pain. "or should we hide?"

That was a good option as well. If they were not sent by Sir Walter then two ladies standing in the middle of the road were not good.

"We wait." My instincts told me to say that. Something inside me believed that it was the wagon we were supposed to wait for.

We stepped to the side and closer to the entrance we had exited the palace from when the wagon stopped near us.

Two men were sitting at the front and they nodded before one of them got down.

"Father told me that you were a princess," the man said, "I am sawyer."

"Cian." The other one, Who remained sitting, tipped his hat at me.

"We have the Man from the east wing of the palace but I do not think he will survive for long. Do you want to take him to the cottage?" Sawyer looked somewhat hesitant but he pointed towards the end of the wagon.

"Let me see," I nodded to him in respect before walking around the wagon and leaning inside to check if he was the prince or not.

The man was covered in a thick shawl so I have to remove it from his face before I closed my eyes and released a sigh of relief.

He was indeed the prince, battered and bloody but he was the prince.

I went back to sawyer. "We have to take him," I pointed to the wagon, "we will send him back to his kingdom once he is better. But for now we have to keep him and heal him back to health."

The brothers exchanged a look before Sawyer nodded, "as you wish."

He then went back and held the wagon which was enough for Dorothy and I to understand that it was time for us to move.

When seated inside he went back to the front and took his place beside his brother before the wagon started to move and the prince’s body moved in between us.

This was it, I looked at the Palace growing smaller at the site. This was the end.

I smiled as I played with fire. For me it was the most mysterious thing I have ever seen. Fire was the source of so many things yet so, so dangerous.

If there was anything that I would ever compare myself with, it would definitely be fire. Warm enough to attract people to visit, yet dangerous enough to burn.

But then again, I could also compare myself to chaos. My entire life I had caused chaos. Finding myself in places where I should not be and placing myself in places where I want to do.

Yes, not many could do what I did but then again not many had been raised from a small peasant girl into the house of a minister and then into the house of the king and on to the throne of the Queen.

I had done a lot and there was nothing that could stop me. Even if they were bloodsuckers now on the loose, everything would come to an end. If my rain had come to an end, then so would the lies of the bloodsuckers.

Abandoning the fire, I moved towards the small wooden bed that I had with the beautiful mattress. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Oh, how far had I come from. From the most luxurious buildings to the most cheap ones.

I pulled out the left underneath the mattress. I had first stuffed them inside, in case anyone came checking but then I realised that these people had left me alone, to rot and die.

All of these letters were addressed to people, different people that would bring different kinds of chaos after reading this. Chaos that would ensue wars at one point of time and more is that would either sink Astria or make it flourish.

All of these were ready to be sent to the people they were addressed to. War and human extension were at the brink anyway, thank you the bloodsuckers. Now the war that would bring them panic would be the most entertaining one ever.

"Your highness ,"

"Ezekiel," I nodded, "how have you been?"

"with your blessings, the most wonderful."

"Ah," Ever so pleasant and always knowing what kind of answers I wanted to have. With this done life, one did miss the adventures and flattery of the life I once lived.

"What news do you bring me, Ezekiel?" I hold the letters in my hand and move towards him. We did not have much time. "surely, something must have happened by now."

The idiot, whore of a princess must have done something by now at least. It had been months since she had received the letter but done nothing except for sitting with her hands on her lap. There was nothing more I hated than an idol princess who was stupid enough to not compete for the throne that was not even hers!

The peasant girl that my son fell in love with might have been a better queen than her.

"I do, Your highness," Ezekiel’s lips stretched into a smile and his face showed the genuine happiness I longed before, "The princess, along with the help of servants, had used the medicine we gave her and it worked. The Palace is at its weakest tonight. Every vampire is unconscious and this is a perfect opportunity to attack."

The letters slipped from my hand but the juggling of the keys brought my attention towards them. Ezekiel had the keys in his hands and he was unlocking the door.

Coming inside he collected the lettuce before standing in front of me and bowed, "The men are ready, your highness. They are waiting for your command."

I regained my posture once again, I was a queen and I would be once again. "Not today, Ezekiel. Now, we escape."

I smiled And stepped out of the three walls and one wall of iron of a present that I had been staying in. "Today, I cause chaos."
