The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 283: The Bleeding heart - II
I could not bear the sight of Tristan’s head dropping onto his chest, his body swinging side to side as if with one force, even the tiniest amount of it, thrown his way would push him to the ground like a fallen soldier.
Yet, the whoops and cries of happiness of the staff members of the palace that had been tortured upon before made me rethink the entire situation and the feeling for Tristan.
He let it all happen. He could have enforced rules and stopped the nonconsensual biting and drinking of blood but he did not. It was his fault, he was just being punished for it for one night.
"Your highness,"
I looked towards the group of servants to find a small boy stepping towards me with a hesitant expression on his face. "yes?"
"C-Can we leave now? If I run quick enough, I can make it to the wagon to go home." The small, hopeful gleam in his eyes almost made me cry. It was like he was seeing light at the end of darkness for the first time.
This was what I had done it for, my feelings could be surpassed once again.
That’s when I remembered... I did not know anything about what Estelle had sent; meaning, I did not know how long the effects of this potion were going to be.
"Leave at once!" The commands flooded out. "Was it given to every vampire on the estate?"
"Yes," Rula agreed, "when the ones that were standing guard outside and not attending the ball. Everyone was given a celebratory drink."
Then I truly did not know how long we were going to have this opportunity for. "Hurry up, we must leave as long as we have the time which I do not know how long it is going to be for. Pack your bags and get out of the palace!"
All of a sudden, an ominous blanket surrounded the servants. The servant who has previously been happy now stood and gave each other a concerned and worried look.
"Hurry up!" I clapped my hands, "reap the benefits of the opportunity as much as possible. We do not have much time until they wake up!"
The clap and my last words had everyone scrambling into action. Pushing past one another they all ran into one direction. The servants hallway from which I was sure that they were going to run towards the servant quarters. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Once the door was clear of any hodgepodge, I made my way to the stairs and to the level where the infirmary was because there was the smaller library where Sir Walter was available almost every time.
Even though I was hurrying my way there, The steps seemed to be endless and so did the hallway to the library.
The moment I opened the doors and ran to the seating area, I found Sir Walter pacing around and his life sitting on one of the seats.
"Cynthia?"
"No," Sir walter corrected and his wife, "Her daughter, Genevieve."
"Ah," Mrs Walter nodded looking at me, "you have so much since I last saw you. But it has been years now, hasn’t it?"
"Yes, it has been." I turned to look at Sir Walter after answering her with a smile before the panic took over my face. "If you want to leave, now is the time but I need your help with something."
"Is it the man in the far corner of the tower in the east wing?"
I blinked in shock. "Yes," I added after a thought, " but how did you know?"
Sir walter smiled, The corner of his eyes wrinkled with it, "after you live in a place for more than fifteen years, it comes naturally to know things happening around."
Why did his answer seem more like a riddle than an answer itself?
I shook my head, never mind that. I had more important things to ask him. "Can you help me?" Like I had asked.
"Yes," Sir Walter answered. "My children will help you in bringing him to our cottage near the forest. No one knows about anyone inhabiting it. so you do not have to worry."
Children? "You were blessed with children?" I had never heard of them.
I got the tension to rise in the room. Sir Walter looked at Mrs Walter who appeared to be more distressed than before and was fisting her shaking hands.
"No," he answered me, "Unfortunately not. They are my adopted children I found on the streets here. My wife and I accepted them. They are quite grown-up now and will carry the man from the east wing."
I nodded, the action more frantic than before, " then I will meet you at the side entrance of the palace?"
"Yes, 20 to 30 minutes at most. If no constraints are found."
That was more than enough for me. Giving him a final nod, I moved out of the library and towards the floor where my apartment was.
I was going back to my country after making sure that Lysar was going to be fine. For that, I had to make sure that I had enough supplies to last me and him for at least a few months until he recovered.
I shuddered when I remembered the last condition I saw him in. It would take him a long while to recover and I had to be ready for it until he reached back to his kingdom safely.
The moment I reached my room, I forgot the trunks in the store room. Opening a particular one, I took the money out.
I had it changed through Dorothy. From the currency of my country to the country of Astria. Packing the coins, a few plain dresses that would blend me out and a thick cloak, I wrapped it up in a bundle by a sheet before getting up with the bundle and moving out of the room.
It was time to leave and my heart knew that. But all I wanted was one last glimpse of Tristan.
