The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 260: A bitten girl - II
I could recognize those marks anywhere. The teeth of those bloodsucking animals would not be different from people anyway. It was the same puncturing wounds on the junction of the neck. The entire jaw, no matter how many teeth, would be clamped down on you, sinking in more and more to the maximum blood out of you.
It must have been the same for her, especially when her wounds appeared fresh in comparison to mine.
"Genevieve?" I jumped when I felt his hand touch my wrist. I was used to his touch but not to the sensations that came with it.
"Y-yes?" I cleared my throat to cover the small stammer. "What is it?"
He raised his right eyebrow, "You should tell me that, where have you gone?" He pointed to his temple telling me that he was talking about my mind.
"Nothing," I chuckled nervously. I was going to tell him that. "You.. Why did you call me here?" My voice grew quieter by the end of his sentence because I felt his red eyes darken.
"I do not need a reason to be with the woman who is my beloved." he answered effortlessly, his eyes slightly dark. "Do you not want to be here?"
Did that matter? Ever?
I gave hima tight smile, "You have never invited me to your quarters before. I was just asking because of that."
He stared at him before eventually nodding. It made me nervous when he did that. It felt to me like he was not just staring at me, at my face, but into my soul; reading me from the inside.
"I wanted to change that," he answered, not looking away, "you will be residing here soon. It would sense for me to familiarize you with these rooms."
"What? Me?" I pointed to myself. Coming to the edge of my seat in protest, I confirmed, "What did you just say?"
"You heard it correctly," he replied dryly as he sipped his tea.
My eyes went to the red slimy wet lips of his. I blinked away when he licked them clean. There was blood in there. The tea was red and the residue in his lips told me that.
I was looking at his cup of tea and from my line of sight, I could see the slightly reddened interior of the cup. I was bloody in other words and truth be told, that night was too.
"I cannot be a wife," I said quietly, "Much less a queen."
"Genevive," he hissed, his anger showing. "Quiet, at once."
My eyes did not tear up at the harsh past, instead I gave it a chuckle. "A queen is always supposed to be a virgin. I was..i was raped, Tristan. I should either belong in a whorehouse or just give myself to a life devoted to god."
I heard his sigh and my eyes closed. They were starting to feel wet.
"Stop saying that." His gentle command made me shake my head.
"I failed to protect you, my dear beloved." he whispered and I heard movement making me open my eyes. I did not find him in the seat of the king but kneeling by my side. He was on his knees staring at me before it settled in.
A king was kneeling in front of me.
I gasped and jumped to a stand by him holding my hands midway.
"Please," he whispered to me. His forehead was furrowed and his eyes were pleading. His hands were holding mine in a tight grip but loosened eventually when I stood still. "PLease," he said again but more desperately this time and I gave in.
I took my seat and nodded. I submitted to the king’s demands.
He gulped and I knew it was a sign of nervousness. I did that alot to know it.
"It was my failure, my incompetence that you were..you experienced something so horrifc. I would take those memories away from you in a heartbeat if I could." he whispered to me and I did not doubt him.
"Please forgive me," he raised my hands and placed him on his forehead, "I never meant to fail you, especially like this. Forgive me, Genevive, please."
"I do forgive you, Tristan." He was never the one I held responsible. I smiled when his eyes met mine, "I do." I repeated as the feeling of their hands crawling on me rose.
I felt a pair of hands holding my arms and one holding my legs. The third pair was touching me where no man was to touch me. His mouth had been there and I gulped audibly. The ringing in my ears increased and i..
I stood and cleared my throat as my eyes lowered, "You would have to excuse me," I smiled a little, "I am not feeling well."
Without waiting for his reply, I stepped him and walked out of the dinning room and then towards the door. Nokul was standing there and when he found me approaching, he bowed his head and silently opened the door for me.
I silently walked as my pace increased and when I reached the end of the hallway, I ran.
Lifting of my skirts in my hands I run to the end of the hallway with the stairs were and did not bother slowing myself down while I was on them.
It was only when I reached my rooms and closed the door behind me did I stop.
Their hands.. the feeling did not wash off its existence no matter how much I tried to burn It of off me.
Getting up from the floor I moved to the bedroom where the bell was. I put the bell from it’s handle and pulled the string.
I waited with impatience bubbling inside me and finally the doors opened.
"My lady?" Two of the maids that had entered whispered simultaneously.
"Pour me some hot water." I placed the bell back. "Hurry."
I could hear their feet scrambling back to get the hot water and the buckets that they would carry from the servants entrance to the bathroom. While they were there, I began moving to the bathroom and started taking my clothes off as they started to pour the water in the tub.
I would continue to burn the touch off me until it finally left.
