The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 261: A bitten girl - III
"Your skin has become dry," Dorothy said of her observation as she touched my arm. "I do not understand why. Winter is still two months away at least.’
Of course, she did not understand it. Dorothy had been on my staff for a long time and she knew everything about me which also included my skin.
"Leave it," I took my heart away from her.
She sighed. "I will have the healer make a cream paste for you." She smiled. "I remember what ingredients were asked by the previous one to make your skin soft. I will convey them to this healer as well."
"Do whatever you want," I muttered under my breath before I realized something.
I had almost forgotten about it.
"Dorothy," I thought of my words very carefully, "I want you to find a young lady. She served us, Tristan and me, tea today morning."
"Huh," she soothed the flyways of my hair. "I can ask around for her."
"Don’t take my name," the words left my mouth in a hurry and Dorothy looked up.
"I-I mean.." I went to cover my slip, "I meant that I might not be good for the girl. She..she was bitten on her neck." I pointed to the right side of my neck. "I dont wish to make it worse for her."
She nodded. "I understand." she parted my hair from the end as she spoke, "I will find her and send her to you around the time you retire?"
"That would be alright," I whispered with a nod and stared at the burning candle. I, too, burned inside with the questions piling up on top of each other. "That would be alright."

Dinner was eventful. Not for me, but Merilyn.
She was the center of attention and she basked in it. My childhood companion glowed from the wishes she received from everyone making me smile at her blushing face.
She was shying away too, especially when Allan looked at her.
"How lovely," Camilla sighed and a beautiful smile graced her face. "I cannot wait for you to have the and celebrated and marked in front of everyone. My youngest son would be mated and marked!"
"Do you feel old yet?" Chiara did not wait and teased making everyone laugh.
They all seemed normal. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, like the fact that they were different because the food they ate had more blood on it than seasonings and spices. Also, that the tea they drank had blood in it instead of milk.
Or that, they never stepped in the sun directly. Either they were always in the shade or stepped out and carried their celebrations in the night.
My eyes moved to Alan. He had more brothers.
"I was not aware that Allan had brothers," my soft voice caught the attention of almost everyone, especially the king. "Are they not coming?"
Camilla chuckled. "They would not miss it for anything in the world." her red eyes shined brightly, happily as she spoke of them. "They were living a little far but they would definitely be here for tomorrow’s event."
How far did they live?"
I smiled at Camilla as a reply and the conversations rose up again. As they rose up, my mind went elsewhere.

I was dressed for the night but was more worried than I had been ever before. The problem was not that I had completely forgotten about what I was to give her. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
I partially blamed the bloodsuckers for it. They had planned for it in two days and the time was not enough.
Not all enough.
I looked towards the doors to my room. Dorothy would be here soon but that could wait. It was more important for me to find something meaningful for merilyn.
This was tearing me apart. It was important for me to get something meaningful to Merilyn on it was also important to me to talk to the girl who had a bit and mark on her neck.
A knock on my door made me jump out of my thoughts and look towards it.
Dorothy was not here to open the doors for me because she was busy finding out who the girl was and bringing her here in a way that no one would suspect.
Gulping down my fears, I moved closer to the door and opened it only to see the face of Tristan.
"Y-You?" I stuttered slightly. "Why are you here at this time, Tristan?"
It was difficult to stand without making it apparent that my legs were shaking underneath my dress skirts.
The mark had started to tingle and my fear rose up when his lips moved and I found the sight glimpse of his pearly white teeth.
"Would you not ask the king to come in?" He asked because the slightly teasing glint remained in his eyes.
Realizing my mistake immediately I opened the door further and stepped aside allowing him to enter my room.
"It is late for you to be awake at this time," he spoke as he entered and then turned around to look at me. "Why are you awake, Genevieve?"
Instead of answering his question I replied with my own, "how did you know about that?"
He smiled and I saw the fangs. "You are my beloved. Even though you are far from my reach, I still keep my eyes on you."
That is not sound nice and comforting given that the same fangs had dipped into my neck.
"So," I felt slightly out of place to question a king like that, especially such a powerful one, "is this the reason you are here?"
Keeping his stare at me, he slowly shook his head and took a few steps towards me bridging the distance in between us.
The moment he stood only two steps away from me I found myself stepping away. Breathing, with him so close to me, was difficult.
"The mark on your neck is a temporary one." Tristan pointed to the right side of my neck. "If you must know, beloved’s can feel the troubling thoughts in each other’s mind."
What?!
"So, tell me, Genevieve, my dearest," he stepped closer to me, making me crane my neck even further, "what troubles you so much that you cannot sleep?"
