The Last Legendary Weapons Master: Rise of the strongest player-Chapter 83: The Name That Should Not Exist (2)
She was dressed in a mage’s attire, complete with the familiar pointed hat.
She was shorter than him, so she slowly tilted her head up to look at him with those terrifying eyes.
They stared at each other for one second.
Then Ethan immediately slammed the door shut in her face and leaned against it, holding it firmly.
"There’s a wild beast at my door..."
He was genuinely shocked by the visit.
This was the men’s residence, not the women’s.
But before he could even properly process why she might have come ...
Ethan suddenly found himself flying through the air... along with the door that had just been blasted off its hinges behind him.
"Huh?!"
Stunned, he didn’t even understand what had happened until he and the door crashed against the opposite wall.
Lying there in pain, he stared at the entrance that was no longer blocked by anything.
And at the savage woman now walking through it.
There was nothing left to stop her.
She looked furious.
"Ethan Heart, you brainless idiot—do you greet your guests by slamming doors in their faces and calling them Beasts?!"
She walked in as if she owned the place, while Ethan forced a faint smile onto his face. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"Hello, Luna. It’s been a while... I see you’re still as wild— I mean, as radiant as ever."
"You were about to say something rude just now, weren’t you?"
"...Sorry."
He apologized while standing up and brushing the dust off himself.
Then he glanced back and forth between Luna... and the destroyed door.
"You called me brainless earlier, but you’re the one who blew up a grown man’s door just because he closed it in your face."
He sighed, silently wondering which of them was truly the brainless one.
"You’re the one at fault here, not me."
"And how exactly is that?"
He asked while lifting the door and trying to shove it back into place.
Meanwhile, Luna casually sat down in the chair he had been using earlier, glancing around the room ... apparently entering it for the first time.
"Did you forget about your curse? It’s been a week since the last time I checked the seal for you."
"...Ah. I completely forgot about that."
She stared at him with an annoyed expression, clearly irritated by his negligence.
"You’re supposed to come to the Witch’s Forest once every week. But since you didn’t come... my master forced me to come to you instead!"
She clearly hated the idea.
Ethan could only apologize again.
During the first few weeks, she had often come to treat his wounds herself, which meant he never needed to visit the Witch’s Forest.
She would simply check the seal of his curse when he trained with Asterion.
But recently he hadn’t needed immediate treatment.
As a result, the two of them hadn’t met for more than a week.
Now that she had come all this way, Ethan couldn’t hide his surprise.
And judging by his reaction... it was painfully obvious.
Luna noticed his reaction, which prompted her to ask,
"What’s wrong?"
"No... it’s just..."
He hesitated for a moment before continuing.
"This is the men’s residence. I didn’t expect you to be the type who would barge into a young man’s room."
Ethan forced a faint smile as he said that, remembering the other girl who had come before her.
Ironically enough, the two of them were sisters.
’They may look completely different... but the resemblance between them shows itself in strange ways like this,’ he thought.
As for Luna, she glanced down at herself for a moment before correcting his misunderstanding.
"Oh... I’m not actually here."
At that moment, something strange happened.
Luna’s body suddenly turned transparent, like that of a ghost.
"Did you seriously think I would take even a single step into the room of a perverted man? That will never happen."
Her body shifted effortlessly between a translucent state and a more solid one.
"Clone magic..." Ethan said, astonished.
The person before him was merely a copy formed from mana, created through a spell cast upon a powerful catalyst.
The real Luna had never actually left the Witch’s Forest. She was speaking to him remotely without needing to come in person.
And she was doing other things at the same time.
After finishing her duties as a mage, she had returned home, prepared dinner for her younger siblings, put them to bed... and was now washing dishes and doing household chores at the exact same time her clone had come to meet Ethan.
Ethan was genuinely impressed.
"Don’t clones consume huge amounts of mana? I thought they were usually limited to battlefields and only for short durations."
He voiced his reasoning.
Luna nodded in response, closing her eyes slightly.
"That’s normally true. But I’m an exception. My Blessing constantly regenerates my mana faster than it can be drained. That way, I can maintain this clone for as long as I want."
"Although my current limit is only one clone."
As she mentioned that, Ethan grumbled inwardly about Luna’s powerful Blessing, which granted her an extraordinary affinity with mana.
Mana was constantly drawn toward her, refilling her reserves whenever they were depleted—essentially giving her an endless supply.
"What an absurd Blessing... I envy you," he said as he turned back to fixing the door she had blown apart, trying to seal the gap before passersby noticed.
Luna sat quietly, watching him work.
"Seeing you fix it like that... I feel a little guilty."
"You should. You’re the one who caused this mess," he replied indifferently.
She sighed in annoyance.
"Ah... damn it."
"I’m sorry about your door. I apologized already—are you satisfied now?"
She forced out the apology after considerable hesitation.
Ethan smiled slightly at her.
"I think I’m starting to feel a little better ."
He chuckled as he returned his attention to the door, giving her his back.
"You’re really strange, you know that?"
"I hear that a lot. But you’re not exactly any better than me, as you know."
"I admit... I lose my temper sometimes."
"Sometimes?"
"Frequently!" she snapped in irritation, pointing at him.
"But at least I don’t talk to myself using weird names like a lunatic the way you do!"
"Weird names? Like what?" he asked, confused, without turning around.
But what he heard next made him freeze in place.
It felt as though a bolt of lightning had struck his mind.
"What did you just say?"
He turned toward her abruptly, his voice shaken. The sudden reaction startled her, but she repeated herself anyway.
"I asked you... who that person is."
"Ishizaki."
Ethan’s mind went completely blank the moment he heard that name leave Luna’s lips.
A name that no one in this world should have known... except him.
