The Last King Of Darkness-Chapter 1637 - 771: I Shall Ultimately Be Invincible (Part 3)
Boom!
A massive roar echoed through the tower, and the light protecting the tower wavered precariously.
The golden-haired girl’s expression changed, and she looked up to see a giant meteor smashing into the tower, and more meteors falling behind the black fog clouds.
"It’s the spawn of the Star Devourer Amidala!"
Rod looked up and his eyes widened abruptly.
Those spherical black fog symbiotes, their bodies enormous like viscous oil, with extremely long limbs but no heads, only two pairs of eyes glowing with black light in the trunk.
Wasn’t this the same black fog symbiote he had just killed with the king in the Spirit Realm?
Were they actually Amidala’s offspring? 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
A powerful spiritual energy rushed forth, and the stench, death, profundity, and darkness once again filled his senses. These black fog symbiotes roared fiercely, continuously pulling meteors from the void to strike down.
No!
How did I not realize they had this ability?
No time to think further, he saw the warriors rushing out of the tower.
"Fight!"
The golden-haired girl shouted.
"The Great Wall of the Monarchs will defend Sorris at all costs!"
More than 30 people appeared outside the tower in an instant, and all the black fog symbiotes surged forward, drowning them.
"No—"
As Sorris wailed, Rod’s vision dimmed.
In that instant, he realized he had already failed once and couldn’t let them be submerged by the black fog symbiotes.
About half an hour later, his vision brightened again, and Rod knew that each failure drastically extended the waiting time, and the total duration of the Star Tower was 12 hours. If awakening was not completed within this time, the awakening would fail, wasting 100 points of divinity.
"I can’t fail again!"
Rod resolved in his heart, and as the golden-haired girl rushed out of the tower, he followed suit.
His strength was fundamentally different from theirs; after all, he was a True King.
Even in the Illusion Realm where he couldn’t use divinity, he was still overwhelmingly powerful.
With a True King joining the battle, the situation reversed instantly. Rod unleashed his full firepower, the star shuttle hitting the black fog symbiotes like a storm, breaking them apart.
The other Monarchs weren’t weak either, capable of assisting Rod in battle, especially the golden-haired girl, whose spiritual power shock could kill the black fog symbiotes on a large scale.
The battle lasted about half an hour before human reinforcements finally arrived. Suddenly, transparent ripples appeared in the air as a pair of long legs stepped out of the void, followed by a translucent robe and a peak even larger than Rod’s head.
The moment she appeared, countless transparent blades pierced the heavens and earth, and all the black fog symbiotes fell in an instant, the black fog was blown away by a powerful force, and sunlight fell once more.
Rod was stunned to discover that Sister Sen’s root origin strength had reached 6, exactly like the king.
Not only that, but another equally powerful presence raced towards the distance to suppress the black tide.
"Is the Fire Epoch really this strong?"
"I’ve seen two of the three True Kings; no, maybe this is a special era with five True Kings."
The battle ended in an instant, and everyone returned to the tower.
Sen calmly said, "Sorris, this is our fault. The source feedback strength of the black fog greatly exceeds the past; this is an unusual occurrence."
Sorris wiped her tears and whispered, "But many people died because of me; that’s why they died."
Sen stared at him, "Sorris, death is not scary, what’s scary is a meaningless death. If we succeed, all who died fighting the black fog will be immortalized."
Sorris remained silent.
They continued speaking, but Rod didn’t hear anymore; the whole world had fallen silent, all figures turned gray, except for Sorris and the golden-haired girl.
She kept gazing at Sorris, her eyes filled with indescribable brilliance.
The Illusion Realm dissipated again, and Rod stood in a gray, foggy space, once again lost in thought.
He always felt something was wrong, but he couldn’t pinpoint exactly what. After thinking it over, he realized all his doubts centered on "Sister Sen" and that equally strong presence.
"Hmm, is it because they are too powerful? But this is the Fire Epoch, the era of humanity. They have countless resources, a complete system, this is what human strength should be like; the Trolian Era declined beyond recognition, only recently starting to recover a little."
Thinking this, Rod felt much better.
"It seems this awakening should pass easily; there shouldn’t be much danger—until the Asdara Tower falls, but that’s during the Star Shuttle period and probably irrelevant to the Justice Execution."
"After all, Sister Sen is so strong, that level is beyond my reach."
He waited a little longer, and the world gradually brightened.
But this time, Rod saw immediately that Sen had been nailed to the ground by a massive long spike, her body lifeless, her soul dissipated, utterly dead.
The equally strong being was shattered into pieces, only a head remained.
What was going on?
Rod looked around in panic, the world was already engulfed in black fog, with only a spot of firelight remaining.
The firelight illuminated only a few dozen yards, and in this narrow space, only Sorris and the golden-haired girl remained.
