The Last King Of Darkness-Chapter 1636 - 771: I Shall Ultimately Be Invincible (Part 2)
The vision before him darkened, but Rod’s thoughts did not stop; instead, they boiled over.
From the content of their conversation, this should be sometime during the "Fire Epoch," at a location presumably on the main continent.
Humanity should have held a significant advantage, but they couldn’t completely eradicate the Black Fog.
Meanwhile, the "Shining Star Heart" was some kind of powerful divine artifact, the core of the "Tower Plan," which seemed capable of determining the trajectory of all humanity.
Rod was very intrigued by their mention of the "extreme evil person."
Could the culprit behind everything truly exist?
Might he be the Supreme Will?
Before dying, the God of Contaminated Blood once told him, "All gods were once human."
Seen in this light, the Supreme Will likely is the "extreme evil person."
Its ability to be considered parallel to the "Dark Taboo Place" and the "Black Fog Source" proved its importance.
However, what Rod cared more about was the vaguely familiar name "Sorris," as if he had heard it somewhere.
The "Shining Star Heart" also gave him a strange sense of déjà vu.
He read the name several times over and tried reading it in other languages but to no avail.
Soon, he recalled their mention of the "Blessed Holy City," one of the powerful nations that existed during the peak of the Fire Epoch. According to Rod’s knowledge, its full name was "Blessed Holy City, Ameliakas’ Sacred Heart Loren City," and Professor Bins had once said its linguistic lineage continued the language of Saslran.
He tried reading it in Saslran language, and at that moment, it was as if a bolt of lightning flashed through his mind.
"Asdara!"
"Its pronunciation is Asdara; this is the core of the Asdara Tower, and the Tower Plan was to build the Asdara Tower!"
"Sorris is the person those Monarchs were desperately trying to protect during the awakening of the [Star Shuttle]. Sedes, Bao, and Sen are her companions."
"I didn’t see them on the gigantic tower at the time...perhaps they had already been defeated by then."
"Unbelievable, the [Justice Execution] actually has a connection with the [Star Shuttle]."
Rod was both surprised and expectant, uncertain about what he would encounter in the upcoming Illusion Realm.
After about a few dozen seconds, his vision brightened again, and he found himself in a luminous hall.
Strange bands of light enveloped the place, and familiar waves emanated from not far away.
Rod was surprised to discover that it was precisely the oscillations from an Ascension Ceremony.
Were they conducting an Ascension Ceremony?
When the bands of light descended, Rod saw the grand hall was full of people; 15th and 16th-level Spiritual Energy interplayed, and Strong Source waves rose and fell.
So many Monarch Level strongmen?
At a glance, there were at least more than 30, and each person’s face was youthful, full of exuberant vitality.
Soon, a 17th-level Spiritual Energy figure stepped in, and Rod looked up to find it was the golden-haired girl, who had grown taller, though her beautiful face remained unchanged.
Had she already become a great Monarch?
A transparent ripple spread through the air as the elder sister named "Sen" once again stepped through the air. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"Congratulations, great crowned Crown Princes, those who stand here are one-in-a-million geniuses. The moment you mastered the Strong Source, you became Crown Prince Kings, earning the qualification to fight alongside the great, unique, and supreme True King His Majesty."
"From this moment on, you have a new title, Fire Sons, and you will bear the burden of protecting Savior Sorris. With your souls, build the Monarch’s long wall!"
The crowd shouted in unison, "Advance! Eliminate the Black Fog! Humanity shall be great again!"
Their voices echoed into the skies, their Spiritual Energy pierced through the heavens and earth, especially noticeable was the golden-haired girl’s Spiritual Energy.
The world darkened again, and everything dissipated with it.
Rod was filled with both shock and doubt.
"Was Trolian’s title Fire Sons inherited from here?"
"Monarch meant Crown Prince Kings, so why were they called the crowned Crown Princes?"
This transition took relatively longer; about a quarter of an hour had passed before light gradually returned to Rod’s vision.
When his sight cleared, what he saw was a scene of ruins and debris — a destroyed city.
The sky no longer held sunlight, thick Black Fog shrouded everything, surrounded by countless Black Fog Symbionts, the fractured ground littered with human corpses, blood dried upon the earth.
Only the central tower remained intact, with strange light encircling it, protecting it from attack.
Rod stood atop the tower, not far away was the crying Sorris.
"I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I can’t save everyone... everyone died because of me. I am not the Savior, I beg you all, stop protecting us."
Around her were those "Fire Sons," all injured, many with wounds that reached their souls.
In front of her was the Shining Star Heart; its luster continued to flicker, yet it appeared somewhat dimmed.
In the distance, the black tide engulfed the horizon, and the world seemed blanketed in darkness.
"Sorris, this isn’t your fault."
The golden-haired girl spoke softly.
"It’s the feedback Strength from the Source that far exceeded everyone’s imagination. The Tower Plan hadn’t yet been completed, and the great, unique, and supreme True King His Majesty had gone to the Starry Sky, leaving the Black Fog an opportunity..."
