Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Destroy the Underground Casino, Record the Crystal Ball

"Huh? Isn’t this my old friend?"

A familiar voice came from behind the counter.

Butcher was practically embedded in his lounge chair. He recognized Allen immediately, his face lighting up with excitement. He couldn’t believe how fast the Assassin’s Guild was working. He had just posted the bounty yesterday, and by tonight, they’d already delivered the target.

"Wait, are you alone?" Butcher quickly noticed something was off. He frowned and asked.

Allen didn’t look like he was being escorted in; he had just barged in.

But that didn’t matter. Once you stepped inside this place, you never left alive. In fact, this might save him one million gold coins.

Allen looked at Butcher and couldn’t help but wonder if the guy had even left his chair in years.

"I heard you put a one-million-gold bounty on my head?" Allen ignored the guards, walked straight up to the counter, and stared at Butcher. "Well, I’m here now. Shouldn’t you pay me the reward?"

"Kid, are you joking?"

Butcher’s brow furrowed. For some reason, facing Allen again made him feel a sudden surge of fear. He gritted his teeth and said coldly, "Do you really think I’d give you the money and let you walk out with it?"

"Let’s see, then," Allen leaned against the counter, waving his hand. "Hand it over."

Butcher’s double chin trembled slightly. He took a deep breath, forcing down his anger, and said coldly, "Tell me something first. Did you kill Mason?"

He still didn’t believe Allen had the strength to kill Mason.

"Oh, you mean that stray dog?" Allen nodded, a mocking smile on his face. "Yeah, he was a bit annoying. But I burned him to death in the end. Too bad, I don’t eat dog meat."

He said this, shaking his head with a look of deep regret.

Bang!

Butcher slammed his fist onto the table, his anger boiling over. "Damn it! You’re asking to die! Get him! Break him!"

He gave the order, and the guards swarmed over like a swarm of bees.

Allen scoffed, bent down, and suddenly yanked the Saber from his back.

Cold light flashed, blood sprayed everywhere, and terrible screams echoed through the air. Within seconds, more than a dozen guards were taken out. The enclosed underground space filled with a thick, choking smell of blood.

Seeing this, Butcher’s small eyes popped wide open. His fat body wobbled as he struggled to stand up from his lounge chair, gritting his teeth in rage: "Now I believe you really killed Mason!"

Mason was his most trusted subordinate, the one who had saved his life once. Butcher wanted to tear Allen apart, piece by piece.

"What’s all this noise? Can’t anyone enjoy a good game in peace?"

Suddenly, the casino doors burst open. A weary-looking gambler stood there, his face furious.

Whoosh!

A massive fireball surged forward, swirling with intense flames.

Boom!

A loud explosion shook the entire underground space. In an instant, the area turned into a sea of fire, filled with agonizing screams.

These gamblers weren’t decent people anyway. They roamed the streets, stole from the poor, and deserved to die.

"Forbidden Spell!"

Butcher stumbled back, his fat body almost knocked over by the heat. Only then did he remember: Allen was The Heaven-Cursed. Every skill he used was a Forbidden Spell.

"Where is he? Go! Kill him!" Panicked, he shouted in rage, his heavy body scrambling backward.

"Kill!"

At that roar, all the hidden guards surged out from the shadows.

Most of these men were ordinary people. Only a few were Class Awakened, and their strength was barely around stage 1 or stage 2.

Allen scoffed, swinging his Saber with wild, powerful strokes, unleashing a slaughter.

Whether it was the guards who didn’t know when to quit or the gamblers running in panic, he didn’t spare a single one. These people had already earned their deaths.

"Run! This guy is a devil!"

Finally, someone cracked. They dropped their weapons and scrambled desperately toward the exit tunnel.

Allen was about to chase them when he heard a few heart-wrenching screams from the entrance. Lilia had broken in.

Seeing that the guards and gamblers were just trash with no real strength, he knew they posed no threat to her, so he didn’t stop her.

Slash...

Cold light flashed, blood sprayed, and the air grew thick with the smell of gore.

The last few guards were easily dealt with by Allen. He then locked eyes with Butcher, who was backed against the wall.

"Now, it’s your turn," Allen said coldly.

"Kid! Do you know who’s behind me? You’ve messed with Lord Kyle! There is no place for you in Blackspire anymore!" Butcher shouted, his voice trembling with fear despite his bravado. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"Oh really? I’d like to see if Kyle will come out to defend you!" Allen sneered. He raised his hand, and a wind blade whistled through the air, slicing straight at Butcher.

Bad!

Butcher panicked. Driven by a huge will to survive, his fat body leaped up, narrowly dodging the deadly strike.

But the sharp wind blade still sliced across his arm.

"Ahhh!"

Butcher fell to the ground, wailing in agony. His arm had been cleanly severed, and blood gushed out profusely.

"So you’re just a hollow shell!" Allen scoffed. He had thought Butcher was stronger, but he couldn’t even block a simple wind blade.

Butcher bit his teeth, fighting through the excruciating pain, and glared at Allen with hatred.

He was a stage 3 Class Awakened. He wasn’t the strongest, but he was a big shot in Blackspire. To be mocked like this was unbearable.

Of course, a normal stage 2 Class Awakened didn’t scare him. But Allen was The Heaven-Cursed, and every move he made used a Forbidden Spell. How could he possibly block that?

"Allen, I’ve dealt with the few people trying to escape," Lilia said as she walked in, sheathing her spear.

"You have accomplices!" Butcher stared fixatedly at Lilia, but she was disguised as a man, so he couldn’t tell the truth.

Feeling a bit guilty under his gaze, Lilia frowned and said, "Cut the chatter. Finish him and get out of here."

Although this place was remote, making too much noise would definitely alert the City Guard. Dealing with that later would be a huge trouble.

Allen nodded, snapped his fingers lightly, and a surge of flames erupted. A massive fireball began to form, raising the surrounding temperature by over ten degrees.

"Wait!" Butcher panicked. He struggled to sit up from the ground and hurriedly pleaded, "Don’t you want the gold coins? I’ll give them to you! Spare my life, and I promise to pretend nothing here ever happened."

"Oh?"

Allen’s eyes lit up. Of course, he didn’t believe the guy for a second, but he was definitely interested in the gold coins.

"No tricks. Hand over everything you have on you," Allen said coldly, still holding the fireball.

"Okay, okay." Butcher nodded frantically. He fumbled inside his coat with his remaining arm and pulled out not a bank card, but a small, transparent crystal ball.

"No! It’s a Twin Recording Crystal Orb! Destroy it!" Lilia’s face changed color. She frantically shouted the warning.

"Lord Kyle, avenge me!" Butcher activated the crystal ball immediately, his face twisting in a grotesque snarl as he roared through gritted teeth.

Boom!

The raging flames engulfed his fat body instantly. The fire burned fiercely, turning both him and the crystal ball into ash.

"It’s over. We’ve been exposed!" Lilia’s face turned pale, her relief short-lived.

Allen asked in confusion, "What is a Twin Recording Crystal Orb?"

He knew about regular recording crystal balls; they stored images and important documents. But he had never heard of a Twin Recording Crystal Orb before.

Lilia sighed helplessly and explained, "It works just like a normal recording crystal ball, but with one extra function. A Twin Recording Crystal Orb system links multiple balls together: one mother ball and several child balls. Any images recorded by the child balls are instantly transmitted to the mother ball."

After hearing her explanation, Allen frowned deeply. "So, you mean my identity is now exposed?"

Lilia nodded and continued, "Allen, come with me. As long as the City Lord’s Mansion protects us, Kyle won’t dare to make a move."

Allen didn’t answer. Instead, he looked Lilia over and asked, "Did you get exposed?"

"I don’t think so."

Lilia touched her disguised face and added, "My disguise skills are good. Unless you’re one of my closest friends, no one can tell I’m a woman."

Allen let out a relieved sigh. He was truly afraid that his actions here would drag the City Lord’s Mansion into trouble.

"In that case, I absolutely cannot join the City Lord’s Mansion," Allen said firmly.

Seeing Lilia about to argue, he added confidently, "Don’t worry. I’m in the shadows while Kyle is out in the open. We’ll see who wins this fight."

"But Kyle has quite the influence in Blackspire. I’m worried he’ll make a big scene out of this," Lilia said, still uneasy.

"He wouldn’t dare," Allen sneered. He had heard of Kyle; he was known as a "great philanthropist" in Blackspire.

If anyone found out that Kyle was tolerating a gambling den on his watch, hiding criminals, and destroying countless families, how would he keep that good reputation?

Even if Kyle decides to act, he’ll have to do it in the dark.
