Chapter 731: Chapter 731: Purple Ice Jade Bed_1

"Where did she go to move a bed?" Li Qing asked in shock.

He was somewhat worried that Jing Yan might see a furniture market and simply barge in to move one back.

This incident served as a reminder to him; a woman who had slumbered for a thousand years in the Underground Palace would inevitably be ill-adapted to modern society. He must teach her what needed to be taught; otherwise, she might cause trouble as soon as she went out.

"Where else could she go? Of course, she went back to the Underground Palace," Zi Ling said, stretching her impressive curves, yawning, and continuing, "I’m so sleepy, I really want to sleep."

Only then did Li Qing relax, glancing at Zi Ling and saying, "Then go to sleep, why are you still insisting on staying here?"

"I’m afraid that your Yan’er will come back and think I’m disrespectful to her," Zi Ling replied with an exaggerated eye roll, murmuring sarcastically, "Even though I came before her, some people insist on treating the newcomer like royalty and me, the predecessor, like nothing—a real pain."

Li Qing watched Zi Ling with a combination of laughter and tears. This fellow truly was something, clearly timid herself yet demanding he disregard Jing Yan. She had repeated this many times just today.

"Be careful, she comes and goes like the wind," Li Qing said with a mischievous smile.

Zi Ling lifted her delicate chin, "I guess... I guess that’s true."

Suddenly changing the subject, she stood up with a smile like a blooming daisy, "Sister Yan, you’re back?"

Li Qing, watching Jing Yan appear out of nowhere, almost couldn’t hold back his laughter.

Zi Ling’s attitude, respectful one moment and insolent the next, was unique to her.

When speaking, she seemed fiercer than anyone, but in front of Jing Yan, she became more docile than anyone else.

Jing Yan nodded slightly, looking toward Li Qing, "Has my husband also returned?"

Li Qing responded softly, glancing at her empty hands, "I heard from my sister-in-law and Zi Ling that you went to get a bed?"

"I brought it back, I’ll just tidy up the previous bed," Jing Yan said.

Although Li Qing didn’t see anything, Jing Yan’s words suggested she surely had other means.

"I’ll handle this physical labor," Li Qing offered.

This time, Jing Yan didn’t insist on doing it herself.

Keen to show off in front of Jing Yan, Zi Ling quickly came over to lend Li Qing a hand.

Together, they tidied up the bed and moved the old wooden bed out to the yard.

With a wave of her hand, Jing Yan’s wrist flashed with a hazy white light and then a yellow silhouette suddenly darted out. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

It zipped back and forth around the corner of the wall and shot out of the room.

Jing Yan touched her forehead lightly, "I had forgotten about this fellow, come back, I don’t want to call a second time."

No sooner had her words fallen than a plump orange cat crept in through the door like a child who had done something wrong, timidly glancing around before suddenly hiding behind Li Qing.

Li Qing looked on, his expression one of mild surprise.

He had found that yellow shadow somewhat familiar the moment he saw it and hadn’t expected it to actually be this fellow.

"Yan’er knows this little guy?" Li Qing asked.

Jing Yan nodded, "It was one of the pets previously raised by King Qi, and also the most restless one, always up to no good, like stealing chickens and sneaking around dogs. My other garden has often been disturbed by it, but I never expected it to still be alive."

The orange cat let out a pitiful meow, with its round, rolling eyes turning downward, displaying a face full of grievance.

Jing Yan huffed, "Am I wrongfully accusing you? You’re worthless, after all this time, hoarding so many elixirs, and yet you still haven’t managed to transform; you can’t even speak human language."

"To call you a waste is to see that you’ve lived longer than those other beasts. But to say you’re capable, look at yourself, what’s strong about you besides being fat from all the eating?"

The orange cat pitifully lowered its head and stealthily scratched Li Qing’s ankle with its paw.

The little look it gave was exactly like that of a human.

Li Qing couldn’t help but laugh, Jing Yan’s powerful aura could subdue even a cat.

"Husband, how come this little thing is in your house?" Jing Yan glanced at the orange cat and asked Li Qing.

Li Qing then shared the comical story of how he and the orange cat came to meet by chance.

After listening, a cold glint flashed in Jing Yan’s eyes as she stared coldly at the orange cat.

The orange cat’s fur instantly spiked up as it meowed lowly in succession.

"Put your fur down, or I’ll skin you and use it as a cushion," Jing Yan said coldly.

Her change of expression appeared to drop the room temperature by dozens of degrees instantly, and the cold sensation was unmistakable.

The orange cat whimpered and hurriedly clawed towards Li Qing.

Li Qing chuckled and tried to mediate, "Yan’er, let’s chalk it up to ’no fight, no acquaintance.’ Don’t blame it anymore. Besides, our exchange was fair, I’m not at a loss."

"Moreover, it knew you back in the day, so it’s an old buddy. Now it can keep you company."

Jing Yan’s icy aura thawed slightly, "If it weren’t for my husband’s advice, I would have taken your unworthy cat life today. Acting all clever in front of me – keep yourself in check from now on."

The orange cat shivered slightly, terrified, as if trying to burrow into the ground even faster.

Aside from being an actual cat externally, its expressions were almost indistinguishable from those of humans.

"Husband, you must never be too kind to this creature; it is a true scoundrel," Jing Yan said coldly.

Li Qing smiled and nudged the plump body of the orange cat with his foot, "I think it’s pretty good."

"Husband, you are too merciful, I know this little beast all too well," Jing Yan shook her head and turned to the orange cat, "Since my husband has spoken for you, I shall spare your life for now. Stay to guard the house in the future. If I find out you’ve caused trouble or engaged in petty theft, even if my husband requests, I will still skin you."

The orange cat meowed quietly and eagerly nodded its head like a pecking chicken, the motions so extreme its head nearly spun off.

Jing Yan paid no more attention to the orange cat. A hazy light traced her wrist, and a stone bed landed firmly on the ground in the space where the previous bed had been.

"The heart of this stone bed is made from a solid piece of Purple Ice Jade, which nourishes the Divine Soul and aids cultivation. Practising on this bed for one day is equivalent to more than ten days outside," Jing Yan explained. "Please help me, husband. Let’s replace the beds in the other rooms, too."

Li Qing, still in shock, quickly nodded his agreement.

Good heavens, the stone bed turned out to be a jade bed.

This woman he had inadvertently brought into his home truly had a domineering way about her.
