Chapter 496: 496

Once the passage appeared, it could not be closed unless someone above the level of a demigod intervened. It required belief, laws, and authority far beyond what he had.

Kael gritted his teeth and looked around, his mind racing.

"Can Heizen resist this?" he thought.

"No... it would need the alliance of other empires."

For a brief second, Kael considered retreating. Staying here seemed pointless now however just then..

"Wait..Did I just think of retreating!"Kael’s eyes furrowed as the scenes of the past replayed in his mind.

It wasn’t the first time he was encountering such situations.

And to all the scenes there had always been one choice.

"I did it in the past and I will repeat it again."

"It shouldn’t be me who is afraid, rather it’s them."

Then a sudden idea struck him.

A mad ideas

A very mad idea.

"Hahaha!" Randulo laughed hysterically, his voice echoing through the chamber. "It’s over, kid! Just surrender and come to our side, or die!"

Kael slowly raised his head and looked straight at him and then showed him a middle finger.

"Fuck off!"

Randulo’s laughter faltered.

And then his eyes widened in disbelief as he saw Kael’s next move.

Instead of turning back, Kael started running toward the portal.

"H-Hey!" Randulo shouted. "Are you insane?"

"Hey, kid!" he screamed in panic.

But Kael did not slow down.

He sprinted forward and leapt toward the broken passage. Just before jumping in, he turned his head slightly.

He raised his hand.

And gave Randulo another clear middle finger.

Randulo screamed in shock.

"What the fuckkkkk!"

Then Kael disappeared into the abyssal portal, leaving behind a ritual chamber drowning in chaos, screams, and horror.

...

A world covered in darkness. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

A place where madness ran free and never rested.

This land had never seen the rays of the sun, yet its creatures craved it every single day. They spoke of light with hatred and desire at the same time, because they had never known it. The ground was cracked and black, and the sky above was a twisted ceiling of shadows that moved like living things.

This was the Abyss.

Here, madness was food and hatred was in the air.

Here, the negative emotions were power.

Nefarious beings of darkness were born from despair and grief. They fed on negative emotions, and the more suffering they consumed, the stronger they became. Betrayal was common, and mercy did not exist. Survival belonged only to those who could tear others apart.

A massive army of abyssal monsters stood across the broken plains. Their bodies were warped and twisted. Some had claws longer than swords, while others dragged chains made of bone and flesh. Countless eyes glowed in the dark, watching, waiting.

One of them looked up when a sharp cracking sound echoed through the sky.

CRACK!

The sound spread like shattered glass.

BOOOOOOM!

A violent explosion shook the entire land. The ground trembled, and dark dust rose into the air. Space itself cracked open, and fragments of reality fell apart like broken mirrors.

A portal formed.

Dark lightning crawled around its edges, and an unnatural wind howled outward.

For a moment, the army froze.

Then screams erupted.

"We are free!"

"We can finally walk out and consume them!"

"After all these years!"

Laughter filled the air, sharp and twisted.

"I heard the people of that world are cute," one monster said, licking its lips. "I want to try them slowly."

Another snarled, "I will rip their hope apart first."

Leading the army was a group of abyssal generals. Their presence alone crushed the ground beneath their feet.

A seductive voice echoed softly.

"Barny... aren’t you excited?"

Barny turned his massive head and saw a woman standing beside him. Tentacles wrapped loosely around his body, caressing him like living chains. Her smile was slow and cruel.

"Of course I am excited, Lisoo," Barny replied, grinning. "It has been years since I breathed fresh air."

He laughed deeply.

"After being thrashed by that guy again and again, we can finally go out without fear."

The moment those words left his mouth, screams erupted.

"Damn it!"

"What the hell!"

"Why did you take his name!"

"Are you insane!"

"Bastard!"

"Let’s kill this asshole first."

Curses exploded around Barny as nearby monsters recoiled in fear.

Barny clicked his tongue. "Okay, enough. It is time for us to step in."

A roar answered him.

"Yeahhhhhhh!"

"Go!"

"Let’s goooo!"

The army surged forward.

Thousands of monsters rushed toward the portal, their footsteps shaking the abyss itself. Claws scraped against stone, wings flapped violently, and shrill laughter echoed everywhere.

Just as the first wave was about to step through—

A crimson flare tore across the sky.

SWOOOOOSH!

A massive sword arc appeared out of nowhere. It was wide, sharp, and absolute. It cut through the army like a line of judgment.

Bodies were sliced in half instantly.

Blood sprayed.

Limbs fell.

Screams were cut short.

The arc did not stop. It continued forward, splitting monsters, ground, and even the darkness itself. Everything in its path was erased.

Barny’s eyes widened.

His heart slammed against his chest as he clearly identified the move.

"It’s... Dimensional Sla—"

"Hey."

It was just one word.

Just one simple word.

Yet it crushed every sound.

The entire abyss went silent.

Bodies froze, legs trembled and the minds of everyone collapsed under a sudden wave of dread.

Haunted and wretched memories of the past slapped their cheeks.

Fear and deja vu crawled on their back.

A presence they had tried to forget crawled back into their souls.

"Didn’t I tell you not to step out?"

The voice was calm, cold, and heavy.

"So what is this shit you are doing now?"

Slowly, every creature turned its head.

Atop a jagged cliff stood a figure.

The darkness bent away from him.

The abyss itself recoiled.

It was him.

He was here.

The Lord of Chaos.

The one who hunted them.

The one who slaughtered them.

The one whose name was forbidden.

The screams of joy turned into screams of terror.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Panic spread like wildfire as monsters fell to their knees, their minds shattered by fear.

The Abyss had finally opened its gate after centuries but instead of them stepping out,it’s thier worst nightmare had followed them through.
