The Undead system-Chapter 95: weird day
"Hurry up patty. We wouldn’t want to be late, on your first day at school now. Would we?" Kelly said, her voice a bit high.
She was currently outside her two story apartment, holding a small school bag. Dressed in a free casual sky blue dress, reaching to her kness. Complimenting her smooth melanin skin, and long wavy brown hair.
"I’m coming!" A voice yelled from inside the house. Followed by the frantic pacing of hurried steps approaching the door.
"Mr Franklin was feeling scared today so i had to cheer him up." The little girl of no more than 6 years of age said.
She was wearing a white shirt with blue patterns, and black skirt reaching just below her knees. A bright smile plastered to her innocent face.
’She’s nervous.’ Kelly inwardly chuckled, seeing through patty smile. She could tell the latter was nervous, which was considerable amongst most teens.
"Hey~" Kelly softly uttered with a light smile, crouching down to meet patty gaze.
"It’s normal to be nervous on your first day. I was nervous on my first day too."
"What!? B- but you’re never scared of anything miss kelly." Patty pouted finding Kelly’s word hard to believe.
"That’s because i don’t show it patty. It’s one thing to be scared but still have the courage to do the right thing. And another to be overshadowed by such fear."
Listening to her it wasn’t a lie kelly was right. She got scared at little things, considering her traumatic experience and age. But kelly was always there to comfort her, giving her strength in dark times.
"You’re right miss kelly. I promise i won’t be scared. Instead, I’ll be like you." She ecstatically gleamed with joy, hugging kelly.
Not responding immediately, Kelly hugged her back. Gently patting her back.
"Everyone gets scared Patricia. It’s what makes us human in the first place. But, through help we can overcome such fear."
Nodding patty then equipped her light school bag to her bag. Holding hands with kelly, as they strolled out of grej street.
"Can we get some pizza from Eden’s gate?" Patty aboutly spoke, skipping carefree.
"Ehh! You want pizza again. Didn’t you have some yesterday?"
As Patty’s primary guardian she was in charge of her healthcare management. Providing her with the essential requirements and care.
"I know but, you know what they say.. pizza so good you’ll be begging for more." Patty smiled adorably rubbing her flat stomach. Earning a giggle from kelly, who couldn’t control herself.
"You always did have your way of making me go soft." Kelly smiled, weak to say no against this adorable face.
’just like him.’ Her heart became heavy thinking of one individual.
’Did that really happen?’ Her mind never stopped thinking about that day. She tried to dismiss it as nothing but a dream of longing. But her heart said otherwise.
Shaking her head she continued on with Patricia. Reaching the entrance of ardo street, the horrific experience of what transpired assulting her mind.
"Why don’t we take a little shortcut patty." Kelly stopped, turning towards the entrance of another street named Asher.
"Huh? Isn’t this the fastest way to school?" Patty asked confused why kelly suddenly changed paths.
’Why is the streets scanty?’ She wasn’t suspicious at first, considering the strange happenings lately. People were bound to be scared of the risk of their lives in danger.
Afterall there was a potential psycho killer at large. And though the harum police city department deployed officers on steady patrols. It still didn’t ease the growing fear of a storm brewing.
’Is it just me or something doesn’t seem right.’ she couldn’t quite place her fingers on it. But, she had a gut feeling something was terribly wrong.
"Let’s go!" Kelly said picking patty up, increasing her pace.
.....
"I see~" A female softly uttered, ending the call. Standing up, she proceeded towards the elevator by the right. Placing her identification card, she typed some buttons.
’Dimg!’
The ding sound of the elevator resounded at the top floor, with the potrusion of a figure. Calmly making her way, past the several security personnels stationed here. Placing her card once more, to a scanner by the side of the wall. The titanic metal safe like door, made some clank noises.
Spinning to the left, creaking backwards open. Revealing a spacious office room, filled with expensive items.
"I apologize for my sudden intrusion president marcus. But i just received a distress call from the division stationed at the outpost of harum city." She slightly bowed her head.
"What’s the situation?" Marcus asked with his usual light smile. He was wearing a casual blue fly beach shirt, and shorts. Completing it with a white sandal, which was strange. Considering his title, he always dreesed in a corporate attire.
Hesistating a bit the young woman clenched her fist tightly. The words struggling to potrude from her mouth.
"It’s alright, I’m prepared for the worse." Marcus sighed already confirming her intentions. Nodding she took a deep breath preparing herself for ghe the next set of words.
"The report, it came from agathe continent. Specifically harum city sir." Hearing her, marcus heart sank a bit.
Agathe was the lowest of the three continent economy wise. But they possessed their primary source specialization. Which was refining and mass producing the green orbs powering the whole three continents.
’So they failed.’ marcus inwardly thought taking a sip from the glass cup.
The elite crow were the last resort he would ever turn to during an emerging crises. Threatening not only zephyr continent, but the other two. But he had no other choice, knowing fully well who they were up against.
It had been over three hours now, but still nothing from max crow and his team.
"It’s a global pandemic sir. But that’s not all. The rookie reported a situation of signs of aggression from a citizen. Which lead to the permanent subduing." Jane continued speaking, her expression conflicted.
Listening to her marcus was surprised expecting to hear much worse news than that.
"I see. Well, the city is on the verge of war now and some losses can’t be avoided."
As the president he was in charge of the three continent wellfare. And while he’d liked to avoid conflict, he knew it wasn’t meant to be.
"Y-you don’t understand sir, that’s not all. The citizen, he didn’t die." Jane stuttered, making marcus furrow his brow.
"What do you mean? Was he wearing a vest or shield?"
"N- no sir~ he was completely unarmed and unprotected. But even after shot point blank in the head, he refused to die. Attacking the soldier by sinking his teeth into the neck."
"No~" marcus face immediately went pale. From what jane just narrated there was only one thought on his mind.
"We’re doomed."
....
"We’d like to order the large size special with some milkshakes to go." A beautiful brunette smiled handing over the menu to the waiter.
"Of course. Your order will be ready soon, please wait." The male sentinel spoke in a monotone voice. Flashing a smile at her heading onto another table.
’what was thst about?’ kelly frowned not at ease with that sentinel. Shrugging it off, she then proceeded to indulge in a conversation with patty.
"Ahh! Help me!" A loud scream pulled their attention towards the door.
Looking she could see a man had latched onto a woman. Pinning her to the floor, his head lowered to her neck region.
’what’s going on?’ she wondered, her stomach growling in protest.
"Hey! Get off her buddy, you’re drunk." An average man chuckled attempting to pull his friend away.
"What the- how are you this strong." Gritting his teeth, he forcefully pulled hard to no avail. His strength proving useless, against the man who didn’t budge one bit.
"Come on man, get a hotel room or-" Unable to complete his words, his throat was brutally ripped out.
"The hell?" He didn’t have time to think or react. Blood gushing from his throat like a fountain, his bidy crashing with a thud to the floor.
"D- did he just murder someone?"
"His hands. How the hell did he rip out his throat like that!"
"Ahh! Somebody call the cops, it’s the psycho murderer!" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Various screams and cries, erupted from the few people present at the restaurant. All retreating backwards, away from the deranged individual.
"H- help me, please! I don’t want to die.. m-my wedding is in a few days!" The woman with blonde hair screamed. Unable to move her body, pinned in place by the killer man.
"Why aren’t you doing anything? He just killed someone, shouldn’t you tranquiluze him ir something!?" A vein bulged on Kelly’s forehead seeing the sentinel waiter standing still.
Tilting his head he flashed a weird smile at her, making her take some steps back.
’Shit, this is bad!’ She panicked tightly clutching on to Patricia. The little girl’s head was buried into her chest, quivering in fear.
’Dammit! Think kelly.. what would jake do.’ Fighting against the strange individual alone would be a death wish. And she doubted anyone here was willing to offer any help.
’Unfortunately there isn’t s back exit.’ she and jack had learned the hard way. During their younger days as quite the mischiefs.
Sighing she picked up a metal cutlery knife about 7 inches long. Not hesistating to sprint off to the man.
"Growl!" Releasing a low growl, his rotten teeth were on display. Ready to sink diwn to the defenseless damsel’s neck.
’bam!’
Just when it seemed it was over, an object charged in. Stabbing the short knife to the man’s head, using the momentum to pull him away.
