The Grand Duke's Son Is A Heretic-Chapter 497
Amid the screams, Barny suddenly paused.
"Ahhh! Isn’t he dead?"
Another voice followed, uncertain. "Also this guy looks weak."
"Yes... he lacks that heavy murderous intent and that aura of death."
The abyssal creatures began whispering among themselves. Their many eyes shifted as they pointed out flaws, clinging to doubt like a lifeline.
"Wait... he disappeared..."
"Huh?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
They stared ahead in confusion, scanning the darkness.
Then fear crawled up their spines.
A cold voice spoke from behind them.
"You were saying something?"
They turned around but it was already too late.
Kael’s sword had moved.
[Dimensional Slash: 3rd Form]
WHISSSSSHHH!
The abyss lit up in a violent crimson glow. Space itself split open as massive sword arcs erupted outward. The slashes were not simple cuts. They tore through bodies, land, and darkness as if everything was made of fragile paper.
A wave of destruction spread in all directions.
Monsters were sliced apart mid-scream. Their bodies vanished into nothingness. S-rank beings were erased in an instant, and even some SS-rank creatures disappeared without leaving a trace.
Silence followed for half a heartbeat.
Then rage exploded.
"Damn it, son of a bitch!"
"Kill him!I don’t care who he is but he is not him?"
The abyssal creatures lunged forward like a black tide.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Kael did not retreat. He charged straight into them.
He moved like a storm given form. His sword flashed again and again, cutting down monsters as he advanced. Limbs flew apart and heads rolled. Blood sprayed across the cracked land.
But the abyss did not fight fair.
Suddenly, black hands burst out of the ground and grabbed his legs. Kael stumbled for a moment.
That was enough.
Hidden blades struck from every direction.
SLASH! SLASH!
Blood burst from his body, staining the ground beneath him.
The creatures laughed wildly.
"Hahaha! It’s not yo—"
Their words stopped.
Hands pierced straight through their chests from behind.
They looked down in disbelief.
Kael stood there, his arms buried inside their bodies. His eyes were glowing with a cruel crimson light.
He spoke the words that haunted the abyss.
[DEVOUR!]
A violent suction force erupted.
Their bodies collapsed inward as their life, mana, and souls were ripped out and dragged into Kael. Their screams twisted into silent agony before vanishing completely.
Kael straightened slowly. His wounds began to close. The air around him grew heavier.
Then hell truly broke loose.
More abyssal creatures charged at once. SS-rankers surrounded him. Even SSS-rank beings stepped forward, their presence warping the land.
Kael laughed instead of retreating.
He rushed forward again.
The ground shattered with every step he took. Sword arcs clashed with dark powers. Explosions tore through the abyss as attacks collided.
At first, Kael was overwhelmed.
Blades cut into him. Claws tore flesh from his body. Dark spells exploded against his chest and back.
Blood poured down his body.
But he did not slow.
He grabbed one attacker and crushed its head with his bare hand. He devoured another mid-strike. A third was split in half by a point-blank slash.
"FUCK!"
"It’s him!"
The creatures screamed in terror.
Dimensional slashes filled the sky. Kael fought several SS-rankers at once, cutting through their defenses and erasing them one by one. Even SSS-rank beings were forced back, their faces twisted in disbelief.
The abyss trembled.
Mountains cracked. The ground caved in. Darkness itself recoiled.
"Ahhh!"
"Damn it!"
"Is it really him?"
"Could he be his successor?"
"No... he’s just as crazy as him!"
Then an angry roar thundered across the battlefield.
"FUCK! Just how many times do I need to tell you that it’s me!"
Kael’s voice shook the abyss.
"It’s fucking me!"
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
Something broke. The restraint inside Kael’s soul shattered completely.
A terrifying bloodlust erupted outward, freezing every creature in place. The pressure crushed minds and bodies alike.
The Abyss creatures who were running ahead stumbled on their steps.Their knees buckled up and hearts trembled.
The abyssal creatures felt it clearly now.
This was not a successor.
This was the same monster.
Kael stood at the center of devastation, drenched in blood that was not entirely his own. His sword hummed violently in his hand. His eyes burned with madness and clarity at the same time.
He moved again.
There was no mercy nor hesitation in his swing even if he encountered the stronger ones.
Creatures screamed as he cut them down. Some tried to flee. Others begged. None survived.
Kael was no longer just fighting.
He was dominating.
The abyss echoed with fear as its denizens realized the truth.
They were not hunting prey.
They were being hunted.
Amid the spreading fear, the SS-rank abyssal commanders finally moved.
Three of them stepped forward at once.
Their presence alone twisted the air. The ground beneath their feet sank as dense mana poured out, forming warped domains around their bodies. One carried twin curved blades dripping with void mist. Another raised a staff carved from a fallen demon lord’s spine. The third cracked his neck slowly, his body covered in layered black armor that pulsed like a living heart.
"So it’s really you," the armored one growled. "The mad dog who never stays dead."
Kael did not answer.
He took a step forward.
The ground shattered.
The first SS-ranker vanished and reappeared at Kael’s blind spot, blades crossing in a scissor strike aimed at his neck.
[Void Fang: Cross Sever]
CLANG!
Kael twisted his wrist at the last moment. His sword slid between the blades, locking them in place. He leaned in and drove his knee upward, smashing into the attacker’s chest.
BOOM!
Ribs cracked. The SS-ranker was sent flying, tearing a trench through the ground before crashing into a ruined cliff.
The staff wielder slammed his weapon down.
[Nether Burial: Gravity Coffin]
The space around Kael collapsed inward. Invisible pressure crushed from all directions, pinning him in midair. The ground beneath imploded, forming a deep crater.
Kael’s muscles screamed.
He exhaled slowly.
[Dimensional Shift: Phase Break]
His body flickered with a blur as he skidded across the plane of motion. The pressure closed on nothing.
Kael reappeared behind the staff wielder and swung downward.
[Dimensional Slash: 2nd Form]
A thin crimson line flashed.
The staff split cleanly in two, followed by the mage’s body. The cut was so precise that the halves stood still for a heartbeat before sliding apart.
The armored SS-ranker roared and charged.
[Black Tyrant Stance: Annihilation Drive]
He punched forward, his fist wrapped in condensed abyssal matter. The blow shattered space itself, releasing a shockwave that erased everything in its path.
Kael raised his sword with both hands.
[Void Counter: Mirror Edge]
The punch met the blade.
BOOOOOOM!
The collision exploded outward. Mountains cracked and burst apart. The abyss shook violently. Kael was pushed back dozens of meters, his boots carving molten lines into the ground. Blood ran down his arm.
The armored one laughed. "Still mortal."
Kael wiped the blood from his mouth and smiled.
"Good," he said quietly. "I was hoping you’d last."
The third SS-ranker appeared above, spinning like a drill.
[Execution Spiral: Abyss Rend]
Kael bent his knees and launched upward to meet him.
Their blades clashed midair.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Each strike created shockwaves that tore chunks out of the floating terrain. Kael twisted his body, deflecting a downward slash and answering with a rising cut that split the sky.
[Dimensional Slash: 2nd Form]
A wide arc of crimson energy tore upward. The SS-ranker crossed his arms to block.
CRACK!
His forearms shattered. The arc continued, cutting through his torso and launching his upper body into the void.
The armored commander hesitated.
Just for a moment.
Kael was already there.
[Devour]
Black-red tendrils burst from Kael’s shadow and latched onto the wounded SS-ranker he had kicked away earlier. The creature screamed as his strength was ripped out and absorbed.
Kael’s aura surged.
The armored one snarled and raised both hands.
[Abyss Dominion: Black Sun Descent]
A sphere of compressed darkness formed above him and began to fall, dragging gravity and madness with it. The abyss screamed as reality bent.
Kael planted his feet.
He raised his sword high.
The world went silent.
[Dimensional Slash: 3rd Form]
The blade came down.
A colossal crimson arc erupted, splitting the Black Sun in half. The slash did not stop. It carved through the armored SS-ranker, through the land behind him, and through the abyss itself.
The ground collapsed into a bottomless chasm.
The armored body stood for a moment, then fell apart piece by piece.
