The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 95: Wrapped in You.
Zeke stirred along with the evening sun, breathing lightly as he peeled his eyes open to the familiar ceiling of his dorm.
His mind felt foggy at first, and then it all came back to him.
Last night’s events.
Sylas. The Demon. A dead Hellcat.
His breath hitched with panic, his heart already thudding fast as he intended to jump out of his bed. Maybe it was because he was still a bit tired and his mind was slammed into chaos the moment he woke up, but he almost failed to acknowledge the familiar scent of pine in his room and a small weight in his arms.
"Zeke, are you okay?"
Zeke froze for a moment. Last night, he had held Hellcat’s cold body in his arms, but she felt so warm right now. He had recalled seeing her open her eyes before he had passed out, and dearly hoped he didn’t hallucinate.
He could hear his heart about to burst as a surge of nervous energy hit him. He was almost afraid to look down for a moment, because he was scared of what he would turn to if Hellcat wasn’t there.
The world faded away as he met her open eyes, bright and big as always.
And he just stared. Because he also feared that saying a word might break this moment, and he might find himself back at the Ravenspire path staring at her dead body.
Theo watched him carefully. He had gone completely still, and his temperature was rising. "...Zeke?" She called softly again.
That broke the ice.
He pulled her in completely, crushing her in his arms. Her body went flat against his, and she had never ever felt him tremble this hard. He panted softly against her ear, relief shooting through him as all his muscles relaxed again.
The tremors didn’t stop.
Theo was a bit puzzled. She didn’t realise he would be this glad to wake up and find her lying next to him when this was how they usually woke up every morning. But then again, after what happened last night...
She hugged him back and leaned more toward him. She still had no idea what had happened while the demon had taken over, but she knew Zeke and Sylas had been there.
Whatever they did had saved her.
Minutes went by, and Zeke’s arms still remained tightly around her back. The feeling was nice, but her heart was beating very fast. Coupled with the fact that she liked this a little too much and his scent was intoxicating, she didn’t mind staying here forever.
That was until her eyes fell on the rays of the sun coursing in through the window, and only then did it hit her that she was very late for class.
Theo’s heart sank, and she jumped off the bed so hard she unintentionally kicked...and pushed too hard.
Zeke rolled off the bed, landing on his face.
Theo stood there, a hand clasped over her mouth, "Oh my God, are you alright?"
Zeke stood up, and when he looked at her. There was a small red patch on his nose, and the glare was back.
Typical Zeke.
"Sorry," She whispered and walked around the bed to meet him, "I’m sorry, I panicked,"
"Panicked? When I’m here? Think of a better excuse," He spat.
’When I’m here’ ? Was he trying to say that she shouldn’t worry about anything whenever he was there?
"I am serious," She said, "I realise that I’m late for class,"
He looked at her, bewildered, "Hellcat, you died and came back to life, and you’re worried about class?"
She scratched her head, "Well, yeah...,"
"You’re unbelievable, and it’s already evening by the way. Classes are over!"
"Oh no," She looked horrified for a second, then she leaned forward, now curious, "But tell me, did I really die?"
When she asked, the glare in his eyes dissipated into something soft and warm, then his hand came around the back of her head and pulled her close again till her face was resting on his chest.
His heart was beating too fast, too strongly, like it was about to burst.
And his voice was a fierce warning, but this time it sounded so broken that her heart ached, "Don’t ever scare me like that, ever again,"
"Okay," She whispered, not knowing what else to say.
Zeke’s fingers travelled up to her hair, and into her scalp. She closed her eyes, relishing the kind of warmth it brought that had her leaning even more to him, and then he massaged softly.
Theo hummed softly deep in her throat. The touch was setting her nerves on fire a little, and the gentle strokes were arousing.
Arousing??!
At the same time, Zeke also realised what he was doing and they both jerked away from each other.
Awkwardness settled between them, and Theo’s cheeks turned red. She quickly looked away before he would notice, and threw the bathroom open open, slipping inside.
She took off her clothes and stepped into the shower. The. She closed her eyes and remained still till her breathing became even again.
*Wouldn’t you just love to go back and bury your head in his chest* Seraphina teased softly.
The blush was back again, *Stop it!*
*Imagine that dangerous, dark but warm scent flooding your lungs again, and Zeke’s strong, sexy arms around you...*
*Seraphina! Shut it!* Theo cried once again.
*Well, I’m sure you’d love to have yourself ’Shut’ between his arms...,*
*Why couldn’t there just be an off button for you?!*
She felt her wolf grin, *There is. You just never use it*
Theodora rolled her eyes, *I’ll start considering doing that*
This time, she felt her wolf roll her eyes.
A wolf rolling its eyes. The feeling was weird.
"Should we talk about last night now?"
That was a topic that Theodora was trying not to think about. Especially her confrontation with the demon.
*Did you hear anything?* Theo asked.
*I did not* Sera replied, *I was too busy trying to keep your male form even in death. You owe me like a million!*
Theo cracked out a smile, *Thanks* she whispered, *A lot happened without you. I don’t know where to start* 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
*Start anywhere*
*Would you believe it if you were told that...You’re the very same thing that you’ve been trying to get rid of?*
*I don’t understand*
Theo glanced down at her pendant and fiddled with it a little. She traced her fingers around the little golden carvings around it, *It turns out that I won’t be able to get rid of the monster in me as I had hoped I would one day*
Sera snarled softly, *What?*
*Yeah* Theo chuckled humorlessly, *Our not-so-little enemy and I share one soul, just like you and I share one mind, Seraphina*
