The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 109: The Middle One
The night sky was dazzling. Theodora had never seen so many stars before, and they reflected enchantingly in his dark eyes. She could watch him forever. It was such a shame that they couldn’t be together. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Can I ask you a deep question?" She broke the silence.
Zeke looked back at her, and she gazed softly at him. She knew he was contemplating, but he nodded in a few seconds.
"What do you think about Cain’s...new betrothal...?"
He didn’t take his eyes off her, then reached out and tucked a hair from her face, "Theodora Blackthorn From the Bloodmoon Vanguard,"
Her pulse skipped upon hearing him say her name. She almost thought he was referring to her, before she remembered he was trying to answer her question. But her heart kept racing, "Yes,"
"I think he wants something from her," Zeke replied, "Maybe he wants to use her as his next guinea pig. Since she displayed how strong she was at the North tournament, he might just think her blood can handle it. Marriage is just an excuse to trap her,"
The next Guinea pig. Theodora could not go through what Zeke had gone through. She would literally shatter into pieces if someone tied her down and started to inject her with things that could tweak her nature.
"But...what do you think of Theodora herself?" She asked again, slower this time because she was afraid he might get suspicious, "If you were to meet her right now, how would you feel toward her?"
Zeke studied her like he was trying to put a puzzle together, "Why are you curious about that? It’s strange,"
"I’m just saying," She laughed, trying to keep the nervous tone out, "She’s only like twenty two and you’re older than her, and she’s about to become your stepmother,"
He didn’t stop staring at her like he knew she might just be lying, "I would pity her," He finally replied, "And I might just hate her, too,"
Theodora’s heart thrummed even harder, "Why would you hate her? She did nothing wrong,"
"Anything that has to do with Cain is wrong," Zeke stated with finality, "I hope she holds on for as long as she can and hides, though it won’t be long before she gets caught. Cain isn’t to be underestimated at all. He’s crafty, cunning and incredibly smart," Zeke turned to her, and his eyes turned venomous, "And that is exactly why he needs to be killed,"
Zeke has never looked more determined before. It scared her a little to think of a son killing his own father, but after everything Cain had done, he more than deserved it.
"Can you...kill him?" She asked quietly.
He didn’t even hesitate, "With pleasure," He growled, "But I’m not strong enough...," He sighed.
"How Strong is Cain?" She’s heard how strong he was and how his strength and battle-smartness were off the charts, but she would love to hear the answer from the lips of someone who knew him on a close level.
"One cannot define his strength," Zeke replied, "I challenged him to a duel the night before he sent me off to Gravemont. I don’t remember what happened, all I knew was that I woke up about a week later, already transported to Gravemont and lying in the clinic. That was the last time I saw him... last time I spoke to him,"
Theo’s eyes widened.
Zeke was strong. She’s felt his dark aura, she’s seen him beat up those first-years in seconds and she’s seen how the Second-years stayed out of his way. Along with the fact that even someone who’s trained very hard like her can’t sense his presence, that was impressive.
And if someone like Zeke described Cain this way, then Cain must really be devastating.
"If you were Theodora, what would you do?"
He looked at her again, like something was amiss, but he couldn’t figure it out, "I guess...I would just kill myself," He laughed as he said the words, "Death is the only thing that can save her from him. Nothing else. Absolutely none,"

Theodora was wearing a backpack, staring at Zeke struggling to grab a stuffed animal in the claw machine.
It was late evening the next day, and he had driven them down here to the nearest mall. They’d played some video games, and it was both their first time playing, and they had both failed woefully, leading to rounds of laughter and teasing.
Zeke had bought a small, cute backpack for her, saying it fitted her ’Short manliness’. Right now, he was still struggling with the Claw machine.
"Zeke, I think that’s enough. You’ve tried so many times and it’s gonna get dark soon,"
Zeke shook his head, his attention solidly on the machine like it was a do or die missing, "Give me a few more minutes. I’m gonna get this thing, I swear!"
He was so focused that a tongue darted out by the corner of his lips, and a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead. She crossed her arms and kept watching him silently, admiring his relentless hard work.
"Yes!" They both exclaimed excitedly as he finally grabbed one of the stuffed animals.
Zeke smirked as he yelled up the stuffed cat, looking very proud of himself, "A cat for a Hellcat," He said as he handed it to her.
"You’re giving it to me?" She looked down at the gift, her eyes trembling as she accepted it. Had he really stood there for hours just to get her this? Her heart literally melted!
"If you’re that happy...," He said and pulled out another coin, "I’ll get you another cat,"
Before she could stop him, he had already inserted the coin. She sighed, wondering when they would leave already, but it was also so heartwarming to see him trying so hard just for her.
It didn’t take him up to three tries to get another animal, but this time it wasn’t a cat. It was a Pikachu.
"They’re supposed to have cats with hell in their eyes in this thing!" Zeke roared, almost banging at the machine.
She laughed at him, "That’s impossible," She said and held up both stuffed animals by her face, "Which one do you think is cuter?"
Zeke’s head turned from left to right, gauging both animals carefully.
Then, he leaned in all of a sudden and pressed a quick kiss to her forehead.
Theo’s jaw almost fell.
He leaned back and grinned, "The one in the middle is the cutest,"
The ride back to the cottage was silent. They were going down the deserted road that led back to the cottage, and Theo lay her head on his back, enjoying the setting sun.
She loved the combination of colours that filled the sky. Nature has also been so beautiful to her, and with Zeke’s warmth all around her, it was nothing short of peace and bliss.
Just then, Seraphina stirred inside of her, *Theo, something is coming*
Theo instantly tensed, then she looked around the road. They were alone.
Just then, Sleek black cars zoomed up the road from behind and she felt Zeke tense up front. She felt his aura thicken from the incoming threat, and his warmth straight up became almost like a burning inferno.
"Hellcat," He murmured.
"I know," She answered.
"Hold me tighter," He instructed, "It’s about to get a little messy,"
