The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 108: Shadows of the Past
They arrived at a small cottage just beside the small stream early evening, and Theo gazed at the place as they got off the bike.
The cottage sat in the middle of a small, beautiful green field, and then a great stretch of land stretched out right behind it. The fresh breeze was wonderful, and the place was a perfect, wonderful home.
She had expected some kind of mansion or something, not this.
"This is where you live?" She asked as she got down from the bike, gazing in awe.
"Yeah," He replied, watching her stare around.
"This is so serene," She said softly, "It’s wonderful,"
He smiled and let them inside the house. The house was small, but perfect. She walked behind him, a bit surprised to see everyone properly arranged. It was different from the style she had expected, but then again, Zeke has been full of surprises today.
"Make yourself comfortable," He said, tossing his jacket on the couch, "There is the bathroom," he pointed at a door.
"It’s really wonderful," She said softly, staring at the paintings hanging from the wall.
They looked like they belonged in a museum. A painting caught her eye, one of a beautiful woman with blonde hair and green eyes. She was so beautiful that Theo couldn’t take her eyes off her.
"Where did you get that from?" She asked softly.
Zeke followed her gaze, "I took it from...you know who," He said.
"Cain?"
She watched his eyes twitch, "Yes,"
"Who’s in the painting?"
"The woman who brought me up,"
"Your mother?!"
"She’s not my mother. She was just...there, for a period of time,"
"Where is she now?"
Zeke paused, and his darkened for a second, "Go to the bathroom and freshen up. I’ll drop you some clothes by the door, okay?"
"Okay," She said quietly, and watched him disappear into another door.
She wanted to apologise. She had asked more than she should have when it was none of her business, but he had already slipped behind the door before she could say a word.
She sighed and walked into the bathroom.
*If I were him, I’d punch you in the face* Seraphina grumbled, *He was nice enough to bring you to his house, he wants to spend time with you and you just had to start asking icky questions*
*I know, I know!* Theo sighed again as she turned on the shower, *I’m a nosy, curious idiot that deserves to be punished,*
*Zeke should tie you up and spank you*
*Don’t go there* Theo warned.
*Then, he could soothe the pain with his tongue after*
*Oh my God! SERA!* Theo yelled in mortification and excitement.

There was a towel, shirt and shorts just by the door when she was done. She wrapped the towel around her hair and put on the clothes before stepping out. As expected, they were too big for her, but this time, the shorts weren’t slipping off.
"Zeke?" She called softly, looking around for him. He wasn’t in the house.
She stepped into the small porch and looked around. He was right there, sitting by the bank of the stream, both legs dangling into the flowing water.
She walked over and sat down next to him. The silence was refreshing, but she had an apology to give.
He beat her to the words, "She brought me up...the lady in the painting. This cottage, the paintings, and a ring are the only things left of her,"
Theo looked at his face. His gaze was fixed on the stream, his thoughts going back down memory lane.
"She was already there. I remember her voice, her smile, how she tried to protect us...,"
"From who?" Theo whispered, scared of the answer. She’s never heard Zeke speak with so much haunting emotion before.
"Cain," He replied, his shoulders tense, "I still remember when she placed herself between me and him. I was only thirteen then, the day the real nightmare began. He...," Zeke breathed hard, "He tore her face open with his claws to get to me. She always got up whenever she was hit, no matter how many times he hit her. Her face and body were always filled with bruises and cuts, but that night, she didn’t. She didn’t get up,"
Zeke remembered it like it was yesterday. A younger version of him yelling her name, tears and horror mixed in his ehes while Cain’s men dragged him away.
Theo reached out and placed her hand over his, hoping her touch would somehow soothe the ache in his chest, "Who’s...us?"
"I and... someone else,"
She wanted to ask if it was Eric, but she didn’t want to push any further. She wanted him to talk at his own pace.
"She and that person were the only two who ever mattered to me, and they’re both gone now," He finally looked at her, and she saw tears in his eyes. Something in her broke into pieces, and her chest clenched tightly.
"She used to help us sneak out. We’d got to the movies, and...this other person would...hold me. He was...my big brother, he made life bearable. When I was with him, I didn’t have to be reminded that I was nothing more than...an upcoming guinea pig,"
"No...!" Theo’s voice cracked and tears ran down her face.
"Cain never saw his children as...children. We were just pawns on a chessboard, and some of us had to be sacrificed over and over again just so he could get even closer to getting the Queen,"
"S... sacrifice?"
Zeke reached out and wiped her eyes, "My Big brother was the first person he started torturing, started the experiments on. He would make me watch everything from a corner, and he would whisper to me...that I was next,"
Theo felt herself torn between remorse and intense anger.
"He said he was trying to turn us into something...bigger. Something about making the ’Perfect Alpha’ from our veins. A werewolf that could move think, and move faster than normal Alphas. He said he wanted to create something epic from our blood,"
His words had her recalling the reflective words about Cain. That Cain was capable of rebirthing them into their true selves.
"What exactly happened to your big brother?" She asked.
"He tried to run away at some point...," Zeke replied shakily, "But he was caught and killed. It all happened right in front of my eyes, and I hated him for attempting to run without me,"
"I’m so sorry," She cried and pulled him close to wrap her arms around his neck. He held her back tighter and buried his face in her neck.
She’s never seen him this broken before.
