The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 110: The Full Moon
Theo’s arms instantly locked around his torso, her fingers digging into his shirt. Zeke revved the bike so hard the ground vibrated beneath them.
The first gunshot cracked through the air.
"Zeke--!"
"I know!" he snapped, yanking the bike sharply to the left as bullets hissed past their ears.
The black cars surged behind them, their engines snarling, and their lights slicing through the dusk.
Theo felt the wind claw at her face as Zeke bent low and accelerated so violently her breath was stolen right out of her lungs.
BANG! BANG! BANG!!
Gunfire rained around them, and Zeke tilted the bike nearly sideways to dodge a spray of silver bullets, both of them missing the asphalt by inches. Her shout died in her throat at the suddenness of it, and she clung even tighter.
"Zeke, they’re—"
"Don’t look back," he growled, "Just hold me."
The bike screamed forward, but two cars swerved to cut them off ahead.
"Oh come on," Zeke snarled.
He twisted the throttle and the bike shot between the two vehicles by a hair’s breadth. A side mirror clipped her backpack, almost dragging it down her shoulders.
"You okay?"
"Yes!"
"Good. Let it stay that way,"
More gunshots, and the same two cars swerved to cut them off ahead again. This time, Zeke had a dangerous gleam in his eyes.
"Do you trust me?" He asked.
"Of course," She replied instantly.
"Then the moment the cars pass by us, I want you to bend backwards as much as you can, as low as you can go,"
"Backwards?" She asked again to be sure. Wouldn’t they fall if she did that?
"Yes, don’t let go of me!"
"Alright," She didn’t argue, and as the cars gained closer, her heart was about to burst.
The moment they were about to zoom past them, Zeke angled the bike the same way he did the last time, and screamed, "Now!"
Still holding him, Theo fell backwards bending her whole body till her head almost touched the asphalt. Zeke was with her, and he quickly slashed the car tyres with his claws, right before he pulled them back up with his waist and grabbed the bike again.
Theo gasped, adrenaline coursing through her as the cars behind them, with burst tyres, spun violently off the road, flipping three times with a metallic shriek.
Zeke actually smiled.
Then the car doors of the remaining vehicles flew open, and men leapt out.
Mid-air, their bodies began to distort, and their bones snapped. Their claws extended, and their jaws elongated into monstrous muzzles. Before their bodies could touch the ground, they were already in full wolf form.
They landed running.
No, they landed hunting.
Theo felt terror and heat ignite inside her at once. Wolves. Did Cain send them to get here? Was Cain close by?
Three wolves sprinted ahead and pounced.
"Hold on!" Zeke yelled.
He yanked the bike so sharply that the back wheel lifted off the ground for a split second, dodging claws that slashed through the empty air behind them.
But one wolf leapt high and landed on the back of the bike.
Zeke twisted his body, one hand still on the handlebars, and drove his elbow backwards with such force that it shattered the wolf’s jaw. The wolf flew off the bike and tumbled into the road.
"Show-off!" Theo hollered.
"You like it!"
Bullets again filled their ears and Zeke dodged them. But one tyre was finally hit, and the bike fishtailed.
Theo panicked, "Zeke!"
"We’re ditching it...NOW!"
He skidded the bike sideways, grabbed Theo by the waist, and threw both of them off just before the bike crashed and exploded behind them.
Theo hit the ground, rolled, and sprang to her feet. Zeke landed in a crouch like a panther.
Immediately, five wolves lunged at them at once.
Zeke didn’t hesitate.
His aura erupted into a dark, hot, violent, and overwhelming presence, so intense that Theo had to pause and stare at him. His eyes glowed molten gold, and the ground literally trembled beneath him.
The first wolf got within two feet, but it never touched Theo.
Zeke ripped it in half.
Theo froze for half a second, her breath stolen as she watched pure savagery unfold.
"Behind you!" she shouted.
She ducked as a wolf lunged at her neck, flipped backwards, grabbed it by the scruff and slammed it into the dirt, before twisting sharply until she heard a snap.
Beside her, Zeke was a massacre.
His claws tore through throats, chests and skulls. Blood sprayed and bones cracked under his terror. He moved impossibly fast, intercepting any wolf that angled toward Theo even though he knew she could handle it.
One wolf managed to scrape her arm a little, and Zeke instantly saw red
He crushed its head against a tree so hard that bark and blood exploded at once.
"Touch him again," he growled at the bodies, his voice distorted between his Wolf and his actual voice, "I dare you."
More wolves kept coming with more cars screeching to a halt. The reinforcements weren’t ending with more and more shadows sprinted across the darkening field.
"Zeke," Theo panted, "There are too many—"
"Don’t think I didn’t notice that," he hissed, grabbing her hand and pulling her backwards, "But I’m enjoying this a little too much. Do you think we can stay for another five minutes?"
They ran. Not away—through.
Fighting. Dodging. Killing.
Theo’s heart hammered so hard she thought her ribs would crack. Bullets kept flying. Claws kept slashing. Zeke dragged her, threw her behind trees, shoved her behind him, tore through every beast stupid enough to get close.
But the enemies only multiplied. Black cars kept lining up on the road, and wolves poured out like a never-ending tide of fur and fangs.
"Zeke, they just keep coming...we have to run,"
They ran forward and jumped off a small ledge, landing rough but safe. Then, they tumbled into a ditch, hidden by high grass and shadows.
The sun went down completely and night cast its dark wings over them.
The wolves prowled above them, sniffing, claws scraping the dirt. Zeke sucked in his aura and scent, and Theo, not as perfect as Zeke, did the same thing. .
Zeke nudged her hand once, and she turned to him. He mouthed to her, "When I move, you move,"
He shifted his weight silently, then exploded upward with inhuman speed, grabbing the ledge and launching himself out of the ditch. Theo followed like a shadow, caught her wrist and dragged her up with him.
"Go," he murmured, and his hand remained locked with hers as they sprinted into the trees.
Branches whipped at their arms and faces, but behind them, voices yelled, and wolves snarled as they sensed them again, reigniting the hunt.
"Zeke, left!" Theo pointed.
He yanked her in that direction and ducked behind a fallen tree just as gunfire shredded the bark above their heads. The wood splintered and rained around them.
"Keep low," Zeke growled.
They crawled through brambles and roots, their breath coming out in sharp gasps. Then, they burst through a thicker patch of trees and stumbled onto a steep slope. The forest floor tilted sharply downward into a long ravine.
They both jumped at the same time, sliding down the slope with a speed that could have broken their legs if they weren’t Werewolves.
A car engine roared from the area above, and they reached the bottom just as headlights tore across the top of the ravine, sweeping blindly for movement.
Zeke pushed her behind a boulder and leaned in, his chest heaving, and skin shining with sweat, "We need to keep moving,"
"How far until..."
Then she heard it. The sound of wolves approaching them again.
"Zeke, they’re still close," She warned.
"They won’t stop," he said quietly, and reached behind his back, pulling out a blood-coated dagger, "Not tonight,"
"Why tonight of all nights?" Theo asked, half curious and half shaken
Zeke didn’t answer, but looked up at the sky instead.
Theo followed his gaze.
And right there, sitting behind a small cloud and a little hidden behind the trees and branches, was a round silver glow in the sky.
*Holy shit!* Seraphina cursed inside of her, *The Full Moon*
*They won’t stop hunting us!* Theo replied.
*That’s not the only thing you should be worried about* Seraphina warned.
Just then, Theo understood how risky this night was for her. On the night of the full Moon, mates recognise one another. Because of the pendant, she won’t be able to recognise hers, but he will recognise her.
And if the wearer of the pendant is really Zeke’s mate like he had told her before, then...it’s only a matter of time before the mate bond strikes him and he starts to question her.
Because his mate should be female.
